On my teabreak Surfer then I promise to get on with the ironing Grin.

Interesting warning from Sadiq Khan only slightly more subtle that BJ.

"What's crucial is that we have privileged access to a single market. What's crucial is that we continue to attract talent.

"Hard Brexit does London damage, does our country damage but the point I'm making to our European friends, businesses and political leaders is if businesses decide to leave London, they aren't going to Paris, Madrid or Frankfurt.

"They'll be going to Hong Kong, Singapore or New York."

surferjet · 19/01/2017 10:01

Grin that's why I don't go on the other thread, all the posts are a mile long. I could do a weeks shopping by the time I've read one & thought of a half decent reply.
Too time consuming.

Grin surfer
Thanks for the 'chin chin' howabout - I have been suitably rallied and will throw off my despondent cloak Grin

I should be doing an essay, but am not interested enough in it - hence my constant search for distractions.
I'm back at uni at end of Jan so will be suitably occupied again then, I really can't be fucking arsed though in honesty - I've got too attached to lounging around doing a great deal of cock-all....!!

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 19/01/2017 11:17

how some interesting stuff there thanks. A while go a bank said it would need to move people and of course a simple dept realignment to be in the EU with main operations till in the UK was turned into mass bank exodus.

Its very clear who has faith in the UK isn't it - and those who think we only survive because of Brussels. For those who have the time and stamina to keep going round in circles, perhaps energy better spent looking into that difference. Why are some of us so much more optimistic and happy about Brexit?

actually don't answer that, we know the response from some Grin

Interesting Merkel not there at Davos - too busy - not the zeitgeist anymore? Out of touch, embarrassed?

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 19/01/2017 11:32

of course its more likely Merkel is in back to back crisis meetings desperately trying to come up with ways to force business to back her at Brexit negotiations.

WrongTrouser · 19/01/2017 14:36

Has any one seen MangoMoon recently?

RortyCrankle · 19/01/2017 15:27

A triple whisky please. Someone please take remote control of my laptop (preferably not microsoft scammers) and block me from posting on other EU ref threads or I'm in danger of saying something which will get me banned. And breathe. 'Can we start calling it what it is' thread has just reached a new low.

Pleased to read news from Barclays.

No I haven't seen MangoMoon for a while, I just did a search, seems last post was 7 Jan. I hope she is ok.

PH (does neutral work as a nickname?) speaking in Davos:
"Our first duty as an elected government is to protect the living standards of our people and that means the competitiveness of our economy."

Never did think he was talking about a race to the bottom myself Smile

time4chocolate · 20/01/2017 09:53

Howabout - neither did I Smile. Oooh also Happy Birthday CakeFlowers

SemiPermanent · 20/01/2017 10:18

Howabout's b'day?!

Happy B'day!!!!
🎁🎈Cake🎉

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 20/01/2017 11:15

Morning everyone - Happy Birthday How about!

Some good bday news for you - Hiroto Saikawa CEO of Nissan on TM speech " It is quite clear they intend to keep the same competitive environment for us " Sir Mike Rake - chairman of BT said speech was positive and Sir Christopher Pissarides - Nobel Laureate at LSE - Remainer said PM right to push case for open free trade.

I also find this idea of cherry picking interesting.

The EU wants to punish us - and yet - are we not being punished by stopping this wonderful FOM they love? Isn't that punishment enough?

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 20/01/2017 13:30

HA!!!

So Pleased PH has now directly laid the blame for Brexit at Blairs feet in Davos- Blairs natural habitat. ( accrd to sky).

I honestly feel he needs to be hauled in front of court - to explain his actions.

howabout · 20/01/2017 13:46

Crossed wires not my b'day but always happy to stop for tea and cake Smile.

I think we need someone with the poster posting knowhow to look out a fetching pic of PH for the wall.

SemiPermanent · 20/01/2017 14:24

PH Neutral in "untidy goth & great kisser" shocker!
