I've made an appeal for calm and am going to try and keep it going as long as possible. Because we need to. Bloody glad of the Brexit Arms though.Wine

Howyoualldoworkme · 21/11/2016 00:26

Hello again, just listening to a shouty mad Bishop on Five Live so I've come in here for my sanitys sake.
I'll have a ginger beer please Smile

winterisnigh · 21/11/2016 12:05

Head banging from super strength home brews being served in here Surfer, strange dreams of Boris, Blair, Baby Jane and the Devils, all mixed in.
Then the worse part of the nightmare, We had not voted to leave the EU. Then I woke up, and it all fell away, we did vote to leave all is well. Smile

BoredofBrexit · 21/11/2016 12:25

Then you logged onto mumsnet and...Grin

I think I'm going to book myself on a nice (virtual) yoga retreat, balance my karma and all that. Not sure this pub sells wheatgrass smoothies so I'd best run along.

winterisnigh · 21/11/2016 12:36

I am chowing down on a homemade brocoli soup with stilton Bored its the only way I like brocoli. Good luck with your wheatgrass Smile

winterisnigh · 21/11/2016 12:38

I don't think I have the correct writing style on this subject for your thread Bored.
It upsets me too much to think of the criminals we have waved through un checked into the UK from the EU and the people who have died at their hands , robbed and been victims of crime.
I think I had better leave it well alone.

BoredofBrexit · 21/11/2016 12:46

CBA with MN at the minute myself Winter.

MangoMoon · 21/11/2016 12:55

Yuk yuk yuk to wheatgrass smoothies.

I went on a detox retreat thing at the beginning of last year - the shit I was supposed to drink every day was so puke inducing I ended up going onto solids again a couple of days early.

I basically survived on water for 5 days and I swear I actually stared death in the face Shock

Grim.

BoredofBrexit · 21/11/2016 12:57

But...did it do you good(head tilt)?

MangoMoon · 21/11/2016 12:57

There is no correct or incorrect writing style on these threads Winter Smile

It's just words on screen at the end of the day.
(Channeling ScottishMummy!!)

MangoMoon · 21/11/2016 12:58

Did it bollocks Bored.

It took me months to get over the trauma!

BoredofBrexit · 21/11/2016 13:06

Har har har.
Good job you didn't book into the coffee enema session then!Grin

MangoMoon · 21/11/2016 13:09
Grin I wasn't allowed actually! I have Crohn's so they wouldn't let me.

I get a yearly flush out anyway though prior to my annual colonoscopy, so nae dramas!!

BoredofBrexit · 21/11/2016 13:15

Mango, you live life in the edge. My mother had Crohns and I could hardly get her to go for a haircut, bless her, let alone a retreat.

BoredofBrexit · 21/11/2016 13:16

I have a very funny story re colonics and DH but this is not the place to tell it.

shirleyknotanotherbot · 21/11/2016 15:31

winterisnigh, does this help you to feel any safer?
fullfact.org/europe/border-security-eu/

winterisnigh · 21/11/2016 16:10

Yes but on some threads there is a sort of removed dis passionate style that some posters have the hang of. I can't do it on certain topics it makes me too angry.

No that doesn't make me feel better in the slightest shirley and why would it? There is simply no proper data sharing between countries is there, and even then each country has different criteria and quality of data on each person. Hence we have people who are murderers, happily waved in at lax easy border checks with EU passports.
Do you think Romania, is shit hot on offenders? Really? Latvia? etc?????
Its been a free for all, it really has. Anyway I dont want to talk about it in here, in the Arms thanks.
I want a wheatgrass shot, and a bowl cleansing bowl of short grain brown rice

We remain shocked a foreign national with a conviction was not monitored our even known about.

Each gang member was let into UK despite long criminal records

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3513072/Deadly-cost-open-borders-Damning-dossier-lists-catalogue-murders-rapes-committed-Britain-50-foreign-criminals-let-EU-rules.html

A dossier released today lists 50 of the 'most dangerous' European criminals who have entered the UK freely, despite convictions in their countries.

Once here, 45 of them committed serious offences, the report by Brexit campaign Vote Leave says. In total, they were responsible for 14 killings, including nine murders, and 13 sex crimes of which seven were rape.

I wont go on.

InfiniteSheldon · 21/11/2016 17:15

Winter thank you for those links it is always good to have a reminder that we are NOT racist just wanting control of our own borders. Flowers

shirleyknotanotherbot · 21/11/2016 17:22

Did you read the full fact link? We do control our boarders. Leaving the EU will not change this and could potentially have a negative effect if we have less access to pan European intelligence.

You sound very worried about this - I would advise against reading the DM.

I'll get my coat.

surferjet · 21/11/2016 17:57

The problem with this thread, & the 'things in common' thread is, we don't actually have much in common. I know the far left & the far right have a lot in common, in that they both want total control & wont budge an inch, but I don't think any of us fit into those categories. Although nothing anyone says convinces me staying in the EU is a good thing, so in that respect there is no point trying to find this elusive 'common ground'

Anyway, as I'm first at the bar I'll get the drinks in Wine

BoredofBrexit · 21/11/2016 18:00

AFAIK it is the UK who provides much of the intelligence, very little comes back our way from Europe.
Just popping in before I start my evening taxi job, I'll have an American Dry please, hold the Jack Daniels.
