I am looking forward to next PMQs when I will be watching attentively to see the LDs retrieving maltesers from beneath their feet.

The good news is that the smoked salmon business is thriving in the face of Brexit and this is just the time to start breaking out the single malt and the oatcakes to enjoy with it.

I am a thoroughly over educated Scottish Brexiteer who has trodden the path to London and Worldwide before returning home. Feeling ever so slightly chuffed that I am not a stereotype. Xmas Grin

Hope you enjoy living in London, I wouldn't live anywhere else Xmas Smile Wine

I loved London but am back in Scotland now surfer. Saddens me that my own DC may not have the same opportunities I had for a misspent youth in the Capital given the degree of economic dislocation from the rest of the country and NS's ceaseless drive to rebuild Hadrian's Wall - how on Earth she can discuss Irish border concerns in the context of Brexit with a perfectly intact poker face fair flummoxes me.

MangoMoon · 04/12/2016 16:29

Where in Scotland is everyone from btw?
(Obvs don't need to say! I'm just v nosey...).

I'm from NE Fife, which I'd move back to in a heartbeat, and also spent a few years up in Moray (which is a bit too remote, but lovely).

howabout · 04/12/2016 16:39

Family roots and upbringing very similar to NS in Glasgow and South West Scotland.

I've only been to Glasgow once in my life Shock
Just passing through on my way to Glencoe.
(In 1994!)

surferjet · 04/12/2016 16:48

I've never been to Scotland but it's on my list of things to do before I die.
Some beautiful places up there.

Nick Clegg vs Andrew Neill.

I particularly like the way (not just in this interview, but in general), that the rhetoric of 'Leavers didn't know what they were voting for' is consistently answered by the Remain campaign pre Brexit:
"A vote to leave is a vote to leave the single market"

Also, the "this is a once in a lifetime vote" (Clegg said this).

Apparently the 'once in a lifetime' only applied if Remain won...

Nick Clegg is an enemy of the people.

That's how history will remember him.

OP posts:
winterisnigh · 05/12/2016 10:12

Surely Nick is too flaccid to be remembered as an enemy, TBH I doubt he will be remembered at all.

Big week for us BIG WEEK, feeling anxious.

Excited from the historical times we are living through but nervous.

Big Turmoil in Italy as five star party steps closer to power.

winterisnigh · 05/12/2016 10:13

surfer my biggest life regret is never living in London, I live close by but not the same, I adore it.

Bearbehind · 05/12/2016 10:26

Do Leavers honestly believe the Supreme Court are going to overrule the High Court decision?

From what I've read it's virtually a foregone conclusion that they'll uphold the ruling.

It would be better to be making plans for negiotiating with parliament than pinning hopes on this decision going the governments way.

True. I was being too kind.

I'm not sure tbh. But it doesn't bother me too much as Brexit means Brexit, no matter how much the elite try and block it.

What ever happens in the courts it will not stop us leaving the EU.

Yes I hope so, I am worried about delays, getting bogged down in legal meanings, definitions etc.

Bearbehind · 05/12/2016 10:55

Lol at 'Brexit means Brexit'- I'd rather hoped we'd moved on from that.

I don't think anyone seriously believes we won't 'leave' the EU but it's the terms of that 'leaving' that need to be thrashed out and the likely outcome of the Supreme Courts decision means that will have to happen.

Would you still define Brexit as being Brexit if we continue pay for access to the Single Market for example?

If we do that I really don't see why Leavers would be happy as we'd still have to abide by EU regulations and still wouldn't have this illucive pot of spare cash.

It seems that the fears about delays are actually fears that the serious questions will need to be answered but for the life of me I can't comprehend why that's not a good thing.

MangoMoon · 05/12/2016 11:26

it's the terms of that 'leaving' that need to be thrashed out and the likely outcome of the Supreme Courts decision means that will have to happen.

As far as I understand it, this is absolutely not what this court case is about at all.

This court case is about whether parliament has to agree with A50 being triggered, or whether it is down to prerogative.

The terms of leaving can and will be debated til the cows come home - that was never in question.

winterisnigh · 05/12/2016 11:40

oh its on live now!

winterisnigh · 05/12/2016 11:43

Awful lot of men in that room Hmm

Not on the same page Grin

MangoMoon · 05/12/2016 11:57

I have SO MUCH STUFF that I should be doing today... homework, catching up on notes, an assignment - as well as ironing etc...

But I am now engrossed in this court case thing Confused

winterisnigh · 05/12/2016 12:04

Its so dry isn't it, but compelling Grin It all sounds a little bumbling to me.

when is the march supposed to be happening anyone know?

It is going to be available on demand on the following day so you can watch it to your heart's content from tomorrow.

People in the back ground pulling funny faces, one guy with grey hair on his right shoulder just stifled a huge grin. They have all forgotten they are on TV now and settling down to natural habits.
