THE BREXIT FALLOUT CONTINUES - THREAD NINE

The Tories have settled their scores and May is now PM.
Is it May's Day or May Day for the people?

After careful consideration I thought the best way to sum up the Labour Contest was in one simple picture. May Day, might also be appropriate here too.

----------------

Things are moving fast, so hold on tight for the Brexit Ride

Sense of humour compulsory. No experience necessary though

Brokenshire is a very safe pair of hands. Was Security Minister for TM, then added in immigration (after Damian Green left, I think). A close ally - to be seen stood just behind her in lots of campaign photos.

As I said, she repays loyalty (I think I like that)

LineyReborn · 14/07/2016 15:31

Leadsom now has to not only understand but also communicate how the UK's farming and fishing industries will fare outside of the EU.

Without boo-hooing, preferably.

RedToothBrush · 14/07/2016 15:31

Patel for NI then?

Bigchoc Yes and Yes again

I really think they especially Maccy John are so far to the left they want the party and country to implode so they can rise up and create a socialist utopia (whatever that is - I wish they would tell) As Kinnock warned last week just read some Orwell and you get the picture

Their inability to see the bigger picture beyond their own doctrine is baffling

GingerIvy · 14/07/2016 15:32

The fact that we don't know him but he's been in there awhile is probably a good thing. Means he hasn't pissed off loads of people, like Morgan and Gove. Grin

Yet.

GingerIvy · 14/07/2016 15:33

Brokenshire is NI Secretary

BigChocFrenzy · 14/07/2016 15:34

Loathsome at DEFRA means a horrible new form of Mad Cow Disease

I admit my first thought about Bojo @ FO was that TM had decided to go for Wexit (W=World)

Then I realised TM's entire cabinet reshuffle is based on (old style) training puppies:
keep shoving their noses into it, after they shit on the carpet

RedToothBrush · 14/07/2016 15:35

Good. NI being looked after then (well in theory). GOOD.

She said the UK has to "beg" for money back from Brussels and added: "The UK Government will absolutely continue in the short term to provide those subsidies whilst we think about what makes sense.
"It would make so much more sense if those with the big fields do the sheep and those with the hill farms do the butterflies ... its perfectly possible but only if we leave the EU and do it for ourselves," she added, suggesting a package of "environmental credits".
Is Leadsome on glue Grin

OlennasWimple · 14/07/2016 15:35

Perfect career progression for Brokenshire - he already "gets it"

derxa · 14/07/2016 15:36

She can shove her butterflies up her arse

RedToothBrush · 14/07/2016 15:38

I don't know whether to laugh or cry tbh.

GrinGrin only silver lining is Leadsom having to explain to farmers why they lose single farm payments, other subsidies and red tape gets worse not better as we exit Eu. It's about control see?

Greg Clark is appointed Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Secretary in @theresa_may's new cabinet

squoosh · 14/07/2016 15:41

Okay so sounds like the NI appointment has been a sensible one. That's some good news.

derxa · 14/07/2016 15:42

squoosh · 14/07/2016 15:43

So is Patel going to get Culture do you think? No doubt she despises the BBC.

RedToothBrush · 14/07/2016 15:43

Is May really 'Brexit means Brexit' or 'You fucked it up so you suck it up so we can't Brexit?'

I genuinely can't tell.

Is the definition of Brexit really - 'FUCK UP'? Fuck up means Fuck up.

My problem is I'm not entirely sure how this crew can give us a decent version of Brexit in any parallel dimension.

Brokenshire was my MP where I used to live. He was very helpful and proactive when I needed help. I used to be a LP and had an awful situation with housing (private sector). He was fantastic.

squoosh · 14/07/2016 15:44

Or Business Secretary?

Showmethewaytogohome · 14/07/2016 15:45

Dex

Is that real? I am lost for words. Sheep. Butterflies. Horse shit

Oh that's an encouraging review Delias!

RedToothBrush · 14/07/2016 15:45

Can I cringe a little inside at the International Development Secretary going to one of the few ethnic minorities in the Cabinet (Javid is the only other one isn't he? Going to Communities? Hmmm)
