David Cameron did it because it's what the people wanted and were leaving cos it's what the people want

TheTruthCouldOut · 01/07/2016 21:29

Another thing: our economy is NOT doing as well as you might think. It's built on debt, a fake south-east led 'bubble' dependent on house price inflation. At some point, interest rates must rise and the pound, unsustainably high, must fall. Falls in the pound help exports; interest rate rises obviously help savers and investors. But it will mean a slowdown, there's no doubt. Trouble lies ahead, inside or outside the EU, and I'd rather we didn't crash into it at the same time as the Eurozone has its next crisis, probably sparked by Italy this time.

GreenishMe · 01/07/2016 21:29

I find it hilarious that Leavers are blaming Cameron for their own leaders' embarrassing incompetence and ineptitude.

I find it hilarious that Remainers aren't?

TheTruthCouldOut · 01/07/2016 21:30

ARum I named some things! Is no one reading when people name benefits and make points.

GreenishMe · 01/07/2016 21:32

Truth don't be silly......they don't really want to hear any.

TheTruthCouldOut · 01/07/2016 21:33

:) thank you Green. I don't get it though. Why ask for the benefits if you don't want to know what they are.

BeenThereDoneThatForgotten · 01/07/2016 21:34

At the moment, I can envisage a scenario where eu immigration gets blocked, and the electorate/govt won't accept any more brown people coming either. So there will be the jobs that no one wants to do, and no longer anyone to them, so Workfare will get extended. And anyone who unfortunately finds themselves unemployed will end up having to do the shit jobs for benefits rather than NMW, and all the EU working rights will disappear. And the bosses will be laughing. This is maybe an extreme view, but looking at the current shower of shites and their treatment of the vulnerable, I have REAL FEAR.

CaptainBrickbeard · 01/07/2016 21:34

Oh no, I do blame Cameron for calling the referendum, it was a terrible decision. But he can't be held accountable for Johnson and Gove's selfishness, idiocy and cowardice.

Mango, your question: I think people voted to leave out of foolishness, gullibility, prejudice, belief that money would go to the NHS, misguided notions of sticking it to the man, blind faith in meaningless slogans about 'taking control' and maybe an anarchic desire to do something reckless to see what happened.

MangoMoon · 01/07/2016 21:34

I'd desperately like Remainers (especially the ones demanding answers from Leavers) to list what they think are the reasons why people voted to Leave.

GreenishMe · 01/07/2016 21:34

....because they wouldn't have any more excuses to spit their venom at us.

Surferjet · 01/07/2016 21:34

TheTruthCouldOut I don't think anyone read your reasons. But fwiw, I agree with you Smile

I am feeling more and move angry everyday. Out holiday has just gone up by £200 so not a good deal now. It's pay when arrive so couldn't pre-pay. Our euros are less to the pound for our spending money.

Husband has had a client postpone a big contract while they think about implications for leaving the eu.

The possibility of having gove as pm terrifies me and the government is in chaos.

I am also worried Scotland will break away from us.

ARumWithAView · 01/07/2016 21:36

I find it hilarious that Remainers aren't?

You find it hilarious that we're not blaming Cameron for the incompetence and ineptitude of Johnson, Gove, Farage etc?

I blame Cameron for being a complete idiot, complacent enough to gamble on a huge issue just to win votes, boost his platform and appease right-wingers who might defect to UKIP.

I don't blame him for the other opportunistic ambitious bastards who are currently knifing each other in the back or wandering off to play cricket while things fall apart.

CaptainBrickbeard · 01/07/2016 21:38

Truth, I really want to hear positives, I would like some comfort. I really don't want to see everything go to shit. But your positives are meaningless and based on speculation. There is nothing in there that tells me how my life, my children's lives or the country will be better and there is nothing to outweigh everything that we have lost.

TheTruthCouldOut · 01/07/2016 21:38

I don't know what the Leave campaigners could do that would satisfy. Wht would you want them to do?

MangoMoon · 01/07/2016 21:40

Sorry Captain, X-post.

I think people voted to leave out of foolishness,

Why do you think this?

gullibility

Why do you think this?

prejudic*e
*
Why do you think this?

belief that money would go to the NHS

Why do you think this?
This was disproven repeatedly prior to the vote.

misguided notions of sticking it to the man

Why misguided?
What do you believe their 'misguided' reasons were, specifically?

blind faith in meaningless slogans about 'taking control'

Why do you think this?
Why do you think that over 17 million people voted because of a slogan?

and maybe an anarchic desire to do something reckless to see what happened.

Why do you think it was reckless?
Why do you not think it was intentional?

CaptainBrickbeard · 01/07/2016 21:40

Surfer, all of Truth's positives were taken down in Snowbell's excellent rebuttal. Of course we read it. We think it's nonsense.

TheTruthCouldOut · 01/07/2016 21:40

Captain Brickbeard, if you google Bernard Connolly, Money Week, why soros is wrong, it could help. I mean it won't stop you being nervous, but this economist was one of the few who predicted the great crash of 2007-8.

TheTruthCouldOut · 01/07/2016 21:41

They really weren't taken down by Snowbell to be fair. I didn't think her/his? post was meant to be a serious response.

BeenThereDoneThatForgotten · 01/07/2016 21:41

What will the UK look, like in 10 years time? How will it be better?

Surferjet · 01/07/2016 21:41

CaptainBrickbeard
It's only been a week. It's far too early to say 'we're all going to hell' because you don't know that for sure!

GreenishMe · 01/07/2016 21:42

Cameron was the catalyst for all of this

TheTruthCouldOut · 01/07/2016 21:42

Thanks for the interesting discussion, i'm going to watch the football now.

Surferjet · 01/07/2016 21:44

Surprise surprise.

dreadful. ^^ You do realise that many leave voters see the Eu as a white fortress that favours white immigration????
