The way Sturgeon is talking down to Boris is vile. I am not a BOris fan, never really taken notice of him really, except when he got stuck up on that zip wire Grin, but its really horrid. She is not coming across well.

RosesareSublime · 09/06/2016 21:48

Muddled I agree makes the other Angela look so out of touch.

RosesareSublime · 09/06/2016 21:50

Lets hope we see much more of Frank Field and Leadsome (sp)

wasabipeanut · 09/06/2016 21:52

I think Boris looks utterly done in. Not sure why there's so much love for Andrea in the red coat. I thought she was UKIP. More respect for Gisela Stuart although I don't agree with her.

MuddledMuse · 09/06/2016 21:53

Gisela Stuart needs training on how to engage an audience with less reliance on her notes.

(Wonders if there is a potential job opportunity for me here)

Equiem89 · 09/06/2016 21:53

I don't understand why the remain campaign talk about peace. Do they really think that if we leave the EU German will France and WW3 will start?

Equiem89 · 09/06/2016 21:53

Germany will invade France

captainproton · 09/06/2016 21:54

I think Boris is deliberately letting the ladies on the leave side shine. It's clever because it means the leave side is not all about Boris and these ladies are appealing to me, when I and a lot of people loathe Boris.

MuddledMuse · 09/06/2016 21:54

Fear is a powerful controller

LineyReborn · 09/06/2016 22:05

It's leading on the ITN news now.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 09/06/2016 22:06

I think Boris was deliberately not taking over and he is not so good in debates he is good at speaches and statements his plea was good

Angela Eagle she was great for the leave campaign

Leavers hit it out of the park...

Remainers... Hmm... Pretty damned awful.

Eagles..."We are not in the European Union"

Really, are you sure?!

Spinflight · 09/06/2016 22:10

Sturgeon " You don't get money back if you leave the EU!"

I think you'll find that we do...

Millyonthefloss · 09/06/2016 22:13

Yes I think you are right.

I think I am in the minority on Mumsnet in that I can't help liking Boris.

I mean if you had to be stuck in a lift with a Tory MP, he wouldn't be your last choice, would he?

BritBrit · 09/06/2016 22:23

The leave campaign were fantastic particularly the women they really shone tonight, the remainers started getting a bit nasty with cheap personal insults whereas leave focused on the issues. And why are they still making a fuss over the £350 million, that is the correct gross figure, it is only lower when you take off our rebate

Enthusiasm Grin

I thought Remain came over appallingly but as my DH is constantly telling me that's probably confirmation bias. It hasn't changed my mind (obviously) with regard to the EU ref but I might consider voting labour in the next election if Gisela Stuart was their leader.

Now deciding whether or not I can face Question Time. Eddie Izzard did my head in this morning on the radio. He talks so fast he literally gives me a headache (and if he's introduced as being transgender I will throw my iron at the TV).

I am pleased the debate allowed a couple of hitherto not very well known female politicians to shine, from both sides of the House.

Spinflight · 09/06/2016 22:35

"Really? How?"

By not giving it to them in the first place!

'Eddie Izzard'

I have just worked out why they have probably got him on. Farage is on, so I expect Farage will be called a bigot etc, just like Russell Brand would do. Maybe Brand is not available.

littledrummergirl · 09/06/2016 22:52

In my opion Remain were dreadful. They didn't seem to allow the debate to flow, kept coming back to the same issues over and over. Instead of giving good solid reasons for staying they were very negative-when you resort to name calling and insults as well as trying to change the subject-leave are all lying about everything, Boris only cares about no10 etc) you have lost your argument.

Leave had facts and plausible explanations.

The leave person in the red dress came across very well and the other lady knew her stuff.

The structure and format wasn't great though. I got cross when they didn't stick to their time limits, interuppted and talked over each other.
The presenter was not good.

LineyReborn · 09/06/2016 22:54

Anyone watching Questiontime?

claig · 09/06/2016 22:55

That is the BBC for you. Izzard is making a mockery of debate and is seated next to Farage to stop him getting his points across.

ToffeeApple1 · 09/06/2016 22:57

Sorry but I think Eddie Izzard is an arrogant, totally unfunny, egocentric twat whose political opinions are entirely in his own interests.
