Has anyone used the Boots recycling scheme?

If so can I recycle tablet packets? The white plastic ones with foil on the back that the tablet is pushed through?

I can’t find them on the list but am sure they were on the poster that I saw in store.

I don’t visit a branch often so don’t want to start collecting them if they’re not part of the scheme.

Same here. I wonder if they've got wise to it?

Maybe! The last one I deposited was late Feb. I have to type in the brand as it isn't in the list, then pick feminine gel and either tube and pump dispenser or bottle and pump dispenser for the type.

I spent £12.40 today and used both a beauty recycling voucher and a blister pack recycling voucher. I received 684 points.

6 Points Received
42 Triple ACP Boots - no idea!
36 double points
500 beauty recycling labelled as POINTS REWARD
100 I assume blister recycling but it says OFFER POINTS

oh ACP might be advantage card price?

It’s 3 points for every £1 spent, so seems likes the straight points used everything above £10, ie £2 so received six points. Can’t figure out how the triple and double points work.

MakeTeaNotWar · 19/03/2026 16:08

I made my 100th deposit today! Took 3 years

Cyclingmummy1 · 19/03/2026 18:17

It's my birthday month so I got extra points at the weekend.

With all the offers, I received exactly 1000 points on a £25 spend on brush headd for an electric toothbrush.

I’ve done 214 , just checked , I’ve got issues 😂

AnyOldNonsense · 20/03/2026 17:09

I've only done 6 lots of blisters and 2 lots of health and beauty, we hardly seem to create any of the latter, half of what I have recycled was from when I decluttered my make-up bag.

My most popular ones are hand soap pumps , toothpaste tubes , sanitary towel packets , face / baby wipes ,
I also brought all my sun cream empties home from holiday last year as they count as well !

Amiacoolorwarmcolour · 20/03/2026 18:22

I didn’t realise soap bottles counted. I’ll start taking those to Boots.

Of those we only have toothpaste tubes, I do use pump suncream though so when that runs out it can go in, but it might be a while as I'm the only one that uses it.

Amiacoolorwarmcolour · 21/03/2026 07:27

I’ve just looked on the app and you can recycle those puff scrub things you wash with. I’ve got one I was going to bin so that will go in my recycling drawer.
I also have so many blister packs but don’t need anything else from Boots yet.

BakeOffRewatch · 21/03/2026 08:29

I’ve recycled dental floss holders, electric toothbrush heads, sanitary towel packets, wipes packet, nappy sack packets, nappy packets, as well as the usual beauty stuff. There’s a lot on there, worth having a scroll of the items available to select.

Engineeredit · 21/03/2026 08:34

I had no idea they take so many different items. Why don’t they advertise it better?

There’s also a “travel size” item option which you can put sample size shampoo and conditioner and other small items in, whereas the scheme doesn’t usually take shampoo and conditioner.

This often fascinates me too,
but £5s worth of points on a £10 spend makes me wonder if they’re losing money , they’ve been doing it for years though, and I’ve often thought that they will up the spend but so far not , fingers crossed stays that way

MakeTeaNotWar · 21/03/2026 12:40

I buy Boots handwash for 76p and then get £1 back in points per empty recycled - so I feel like I get free money

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 21/03/2026 14:09

You can also recycle refill pouches. I always buy the Carex soap pouches and refill the bottles that was.

Wow I had no idea they did sanitary towel packets! I don't wear make up so I thought I wouldn't get much for the beauty recycling but it seems like loads of things are eligible! I've only done the blister packs recycling so far but I'm going to start now.

I didn’t know this one and we use carex refill too!

AnyOldNonsense · 21/03/2026 22:03

I am going to have to have another scroll, but I don’t think we have much that doesn’t go in the normal recycling, we refill handsoap from a bulk bottle, but we do have toothbrush heads.

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 22/03/2026 08:45

@AnyOldNonsense - most of the stuff could go in normal recycling. But it’s a great way to get money back for your recycling.

AnyOldNonsense · 22/03/2026 11:07

Well yes, but you are supposed to check the box to say it can't be recycled normally.

Gingernaut · 22/03/2026 11:14

Every time I tried, right down to selecting the correct brand and taking clear photos, the app rejected all (and I mean ALL) submissions

I go to Superdrug pharmacies where they have a blister pack recycling bin for charity

If I'm not going to get points, I might as well give some benefit to someone

DuckWithOneWing · 25/03/2026 19:17

This morning I tried the beauty recycling for the first time, and successfully added a deodorant! It was approved instantly. I then tried to add a further 4 items but they've all still waiting for approval. It seems my early success was maybe a fluke.

They will go through eventually

I’ve been using it for ages and it is is really good

Urgh, tried to use one of each voucher today in my local store.

Had anyone else had the issue where you've looked carefully at the shelf for any special Advantage card prices, offers etc, added up to the right amount to qualify, you scan things through, scan the advantage card, still says £10 total to pay, then when you scan the voucher for the extra points, magically the total is now £9.90, nyah nyah, your transaction doesn't qualify. I scanned the chocolate bar which I had picked up in case this happened, but the till didn't like that.

And of course, I was on a self-checkout till, it was lunchtime so there were about 8 people in the queue, 3 out of 4 of the tills (including mine) required 'attention' and there wasn't a staff member in sight.

When a bloke eventually did appear, he reset the tills and then fucked off again. Just in time for the till to do the same thing on my second transaction (to use the £5 spend voucher).

I have to admit, I walked out at that point. I have so many blister packs that one voucher is neither here nor there as I don't buy that much stuff in Boots.
