Anyone want to join a year 13 UCAS THREAD?

We can join in stressing about ucas forms interviews etc?

I am finding it all a very steep learning curve - we could support one another - celebrate and commiserate?

hocuspontas - definitely the best university in the world - I'm biased too, as 3/4 of our family went/are there. (And half of them lived in Mardon)
DS (who went to Warwick) might disagree though!

NotAnOtter · 06/01/2010 20:03

hocuspontas well done dd I would love Exeter myself and still plan to retire to devon!

Good news in the Otter house today - DS got an offer from Cambridge

smiles and tears here from proud mummy!

RustyBear · 06/01/2010 20:12

lazymumofteenagesons · 06/01/2010 20:30

Congrats, son of NAO. Was it for A*AA? Which college and what will he be reading?

NotAnOtter · 06/01/2010 20:34

Thanks all

Lazymum it is A*AA ( which nicely keeps the pressure on) and it is for Natural Sciences

hocuspontas · 06/01/2010 21:02

Fantastic news!!

Lilymaid · 06/01/2010 21:08

Congratulations to the Ottercub. He'll have a great time at Cambridge. Please ask him to ensure he has working lights on his bike as I don't want to run him down when I'm in town! Meanwhile noses to grindstone here for January exams.

Milliways · 06/01/2010 21:08

Well done! I hope he has a decent bicycle ready to blend in with the rest

RustyBear · 06/01/2010 21:10

milliways - did you see the bit on local news about the guy who skied down the hill from Tilehurst into Reading today?

I'm wondering how he's planning to get back....

Milliways · 06/01/2010 21:30

No - I missed that one! BBC or Meridian? will look at website. It was pretty deep up here. I put some pics on profile but trying to upload one of our mega snowman & it keeps crashing. Will have another go.....

senua · 06/01/2010 21:41

Congrats to Otterboy!
I note that all the emotions are coming from you NAO. What is he like? - is he trying to be infuriatingly cool about it all.

RustyBear · 06/01/2010 21:45

Think it was BBC but not sure, couldn't see anything on their website though.

NotAnOtter · 06/01/2010 21:49

Brilliant news for the whole Otter family - so pressure's off one way, and on in another!

Good luck to everyone else - ds (we're!!) is still waiting to hear from Durham, where he's been in College all over Christmas. Wish they'd get back to work!!

Happy new year all.

brimfull · 07/01/2010 09:03

brimfull · 07/01/2010 19:32

dd got an offer from Leeds today
AAB to do Economics and French

she's very pleased -hope it spurs her on to work harder

RustyBear · 07/01/2010 20:02

Congratulations to ggirl's girl!

Swedington · 07/01/2010 20:07

ggirl - congratulations to your dd. Clever girl. Is it her first choice?

DS1 has his two remaining medical school interviews at the end of this month: UCL and Sheffield. It's a shame as he has exams and interview prep to do all at once. Poor chap.

NotAnOtter · 07/01/2010 20:30

ggirls dd well done !!

Leeds is a GREAT choice she will have a great time

mumoverseas - i will be here for quizzing!

hocuspontas · 07/01/2010 20:55

Well done!!

selectivememory · 07/01/2010 20:55

Swedington, any news on the classics boy who wrote his Personal Statement in Latin? (just out of interest, for future reference.......)
