good state or excellent private?

if you could afford it would you send kids privately to excellent schools or to good state?

regarding class sizes...sometimes small classes can be a problem if your child doesn't fit in.With a calss of 30 kid they will always beable to find a friend.I have a friend who is taking her shy ds out of private primary because he didn't gel with anyone in the class and had problems as a result, and would be stuck with that same group for years

but you're right.... and as kids fall out with each other as they grow up there's opportunities for new friendships
