Ours was just boring! Blue jumper and skirt, white blouse and blue / yello / red tie!
The Middle school down the road has Green blazer and skirt, yellow shirt, brown jumper and yellow and green tie - it wouldn't be quite so horrid if the green wasn't a bogey type shade!

cupcakes · 06/02/2006 20:27

dark brown skirt/ trousers with pale blue sweatshirt with the logo of a brown tree. Yummy.

Latz · 06/02/2006 20:29

Luvverly pe kit MT

Ours was a navy A line - had to be A line or u got sent home skirt, blue shirt and blue/black and green tie. A line skirt in the 80's still gives me nightmares and we could only wear school mac yikes!

roisin · 06/02/2006 20:29

School was OK but our girls' choir uniform was hideous. Mustard yellow blouses and very brown brown pinafores, all made from some hideous synthetic material ... YUCK!

Surfermum · 06/02/2006 20:31

Me! Ours was bottle green skirt and jumper, white blouse. For PE a green skirt and yellow airtex tshirt, green tracksuit (not a trendy one). For science/art a green apron thing. Green mac and blazer and a green beret.

You had to wear your green knickers under your PE skirt.
You could wear your jumper with the mac, but if you wore your blazer you weren't allowed to wear the jumper, it had to be blouse only.
Berets were worn for school photos and going to church.

I hate green now.

lucy5 · 06/02/2006 20:33

i had to wear a blue kilt with pin, blue shirt and tie, blue jumper and a really heavy CAPE ???. Regulation shoes and in latter years a gaberdine mac. I hated that cape and used to wear it to the end of the street and then roll it up and shove it under my arm and it used to stink when it rained,

lucy5 · 06/02/2006 20:37

oh I forgot the blazer. At primary school we had to wear a cap with a gold tassle on, mmm nice!

Bugsy2 · 06/02/2006 20:57

For primary school we had a vile winter uniform, a bright tartan kilt, bright blue jumper, nasty blazer with red & gold piping all over it and a ridiculous hat with a red tassle - nothing like a convent education!!!
but at least it wasn't mustard yellow!!! Why would any school choose that colour?

swedishmum · 06/02/2006 21:41

Orange and white minichecked open necked shirt, brown crimpeline skirt (with elasticated back waist), orange (!) botany wool round necked sweater - very itchy, beige knee length socks. PE uniform brown interlock knickers, orange sweatshirt that clashed with orange PE skirt. Good in the fog. Anyone else go to the same girls' school in a NW seaside resort near Blackpool then?

Philly · 06/02/2006 22:25

Brown harris tweed (yes really!)skirt, fawn shirt and chocolate brown jumper.Flat brown "emily " start rite shoes until I was 16!CAPE :brown with mustard yellow lining and on sundays a brown harris tweed coat, brown gloves, straw boater and brown regulation umbrella if raining.

Games kit wasn't too bad in comparison although we did have the brown knickers.By the way whatever happened to Aertex shirts actually quite like them for summer?

nooka · 06/02/2006 22:28

My sister had to wear bright pink, with a nicely clashing red and white tie. My uniform on the other hand was OK, except that it didn't appear to be designed for girls - skirts that bulged once you developed hips and shirts that were too shirt if you had any cleavage (or were just too tall like me!). However I have to say that I chose my 6th form on the basis of how cute the boys looked in their uniforms (penguin suits!)

mcmudda · 06/02/2006 22:37

Ours was ok - blue blazer, grey pinafore etc.

In junior school we had to wear a baker-boy corduroy hat with the school badge on the front and regulation blue knickers which were always checked at PE. Heaven forbid you were wearing Barbie pants...

Our PE kit in secondary was purely to keep the lecherous PE teacher happy - royal blue gym knickers and an athletics vest - an evil torture especially before teh invention of skinny sanitary towels. Everybody knew everybody's cycles in those gym knickers - eugh.

Ellbell · 07/02/2006 00:33

OK... get this... no-one can beat this...

We had:

-grey A-line skirt
-either green, red, or blue v-necked cotton shirt, to be worn with matching (green, red or blue) v-necked jumper
-grey socks
-black outdoor shoes, to be changed on arrival at school for brown indoor shoes (and woe betide any gal caught wearing black shoes indoors or brown shoes outdoors)
-grey blazer with green piping (in winter could be substituted with navy mac or ... this is the really good bit... grey cape (a cape FFS)
-grey hat with green ribbon

In summer we could ring the changes with a green and white checked dress, to be worn with white ankle socks or grey knee-length socks (but never ever grey ankle socks or white knee-length socks) and brown shoes. And there was an ultra stupid straw boater with a green ribbon.

Anyone caught not wearing a hat outside the school grounds was put in detention. Ditto for wrong sock-shoe combinations.

I bet no-one can beat that for sheer (a) ugliness and (b) stupidity!

Flossam · 07/02/2006 00:42

Ok mine was a green skirt and green jumper. White shirt, and green and black tie. All fine so far, ish. But my mother used to make me wear bright red woollen tights.

vicimelly · 07/02/2006 00:43

Ours wasn't too bad, grey skirt, light blue open neck blouse, grey cardi/jumper and black shoes, but we had to wear a horrid grey wool blazer that absolutely stunk in the rain, and we had to wear it outside of school too, I kept getting detention because my year head drove past my bus stop on the way to school and I never had it on - I was miles away from school ffs!

sparklymieow · 07/02/2006 00:50

ours wasn't too bad but we had 3 (thats right 3) different uniforms while I was there. 1st year was a grey skirt, white blouse, and grey jumper, then while I was in the second year they changed it to black skirt and black jumpers, with white shirt/blouse ( not too bad) then they changed the jumpers to royal blue with the school logo on it.
PE kits was a navy blue pe skirt and white t-shirt, or black shorts.

Stylish · 07/02/2006 06:53

My last school uniform was knee high navy blue socks, a skirt made of tartan like this , a white shirt and a navy cardigan or jumper.

Stylish · 07/02/2006 06:55

Oh and it was bog standard state school - mixed sex and all

nitfreecod · 07/02/2006 07:41

NO ONE can beat my brothers.

nitfreecod · 07/02/2006 07:42

tp of the bill

i went tot hte fgirsls school which was a 60s effort

anorak · 07/02/2006 08:40

My sister had to wear an emerald green skirt and v-neck jumper, but that's nothing.

My husband had to wear...wait for it...a mustard colour polo neck jumper

Greensleeves · 07/02/2006 08:43

Ours was a violent puce/green Lyndsay tartan kilt with either a puce/green crew neck or, for formal days, a green (BRIGHT green) V-neck with a bright yellow pentagram over the left tit. Repulsive. It was very democratic in that nobody could possibly look nice in it, irrespective of hair/skin/eye colour.

chjlly · 07/02/2006 08:46

We had to wear chocolate brown skirt/trousers and jumper and a camel blouse and for pe gold t shirt & knickers
The only thing was the uniform matched with the colour of the schools brickwork!

JonesTheSteam · 07/02/2006 08:47

Bright red shirt and socks / tights, grey skirt jumper and black tie with red and gold stripes.

The red socks / tights were the worst though - really hated them.

And when I went on orchestral courses we stood out a mile in our red shirts when everyone else had white.
