Anyone starting egg donation July/August?

We maybe starting our egg donation treatment (first time) July/August and I thought maybe there’s anyone here that would like to join me. Ive found this forum very useful and supportive and thought I would reach out as I cannot believe it is so soon and getting a bit nervous. We had a year of rollercoaster of trying for many years to being finally told my amh is too low and I wouldn’t qualify for IVF. We did our research and found DCN very useful and are really excited about it.

Just dropping in to say that I have an eight month old from an egg donor and he is the love of our lives. Wishing you all success and sticky ones xxxx

ksusha20 · 14/09/2020 08:25

@ Leala20 The way I understand (and of course I’m not a specialist) estrogen is helping the lining to grow and it’s rising in the response of FSH rise, which, as we know responsible for follicles growth. So I would be thinking estrogen you were taking was doing what it was supposed to do. But the problem might be that you had an additional estrogen that was increasing naturally stimulated by FSH. Again I’m not a gynecologist nor fertility specialist. They need to find the root cause of your over the norm estrogen and eliminate it.

@ Angliski Thank you for your message. Can you share more about your experience, if you don’t mind of course? Thank you

tikha · 15/09/2020 19:07

Hey all been off the site for a bit. As we were expecting, the followup scan still looked the same and now waiting for the miscarriage process to end.. like with everything not as straighforward and can take its time if in your 9th week apparently.. Anyway the positive is that we came this far but now will need a break until we can face this again.

tikha · 15/09/2020 19:15

@Leala20 i think for start of cycle they want the ovaries to be quiescient. Not heard of it as a common issue though. What day of your cycle did you start your meds and get scanned?

Cleozeta · 15/09/2020 20:57

@tikha I'm so sorry you are going through this. The mental distress along with the physical side of things is awful.

I was wondering, do you think the meds can keep things going once it's stopped? Did you get many symptoms? I am worried mine may go the same way, as my symptoms are not as strong as my last pregnancy.

It's strange thinking back to when I was in my 30's and these things were so simple. Now it's just expectation that things will go wrong. This is my 4th pregnancy since turning 40 and nothing so far has gone right. I so wish I had frozen some eggs when I was young. Why didn't I think of that?!

tikha · 15/09/2020 21:25

@Cleozeta so i had mild nausea all the way through and even now its slightly there and it was not predictive of my scan. My bHCG also went up appropriately. The way the symptoms manifest is very variable and some women have no symptoms at all. Think about those women who only realize they are pregnant in their 20th week. Lack of symptoms or not is not indicative of how your scan will turn out. Just hold tight, enjoy your time with your little embie.

It tough as hope springs eternal but because of our prior history we just expect the worst. Also the donor eggs means its likely things will go ok atleast based on stats. Just baby steps and slow breaths.. and hope that it goes well in next few months.

Cleozeta · 15/09/2020 21:48

@tikha thank you. I think I'm finding it hard not to compare with my last pregnancy which was almost exactly a year ago and made it to 33 weeks, so as far as the early days go, it was successfully progressing. I guess all pregnancies are different, but it's hard not to compare.

Wishing you all the best of luck with your next attempt.

Leala20 · 15/09/2020 23:52

@tikha I am so sorry. It must be so heartbreaking as we cherish each moment of progressing a bit further. I hope you’re kind to yourself.
I was in cd2 when I went for a scan and was meant to start Proganova the following day. Then I got an email asking to wait till next cycle as the results are far too high. I am due to speak to my consultant tomorrow as no one could really help me despite the fact that the nurses were nice and supportive I still cannot understand why I should wait and not take some comparison tests etc. I just don’t want to end up in the same situation and be told wait again and not do anything.

@tikha not many words can make you feel better. Loss i s very hard. And of course no woman deserves this heartbreak. But here we all are , united by the same struggle. And maybe it makes each of us feel a bit better because we know that there is someone out there who understands our pain. Please take a good care of yourself and hope your partner is taken care of as well. Because they also suffer a great deal, for the loss and for us , that we have to go through all this

ksusha20 · 16/09/2020 22:04

@Cleozeta past experience makes you worry and feeling anxious. But whether we worry or not the outcome will be the same. So its better just enjoy the moment. Im trying to practice this myself because i need to ground myself and stay in present. Rather than projecting and picturing the worst.

ksusha20 · 16/09/2020 22:09

@Leala20 have you heard anything from your consultant?
The health freak I am , I would got GP appointment right away and ask to run all the needed tests to understand on why estrogen is elevated. Just to do investigation unrelated to/on the top of your fertility treatment. Additional opinion and investigation not hurt in my opinion.

tikha · 18/09/2020 11:17

@ksusha20 thank you for kind wise words. It is true...I haven't really discussed my story with my close friends especially because of covid we are so scattered at the moment. So in the hands of strangers I have shared my stories.

Pingupp · 18/09/2020 14:55

@tikha sorry you are going through this.
I am just playing the waiting game now for a donor.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend ladies. X

Leala20 · 18/09/2020 19:47

@ksusha20 thank you for checking in. Busy week this week!
Had a chat and she said not to worry and wait for next cycle. She said normally when e. is so high I will have a very short period and ovulate immediately, which happened already, and will get my next cycle earlier and then we check. She said it can happen and only if it happens again then we need to medicate it and do hormone check. I ordered a kit online so can do it myself on day 2 anyway to see as good for me to know my levels anyway, and if off I go to GP. So now waiting for my new cycle to start early October. I am looking around at reflexology and acupuncture to try.
How are you all doing?

Evening ladies, sorry to read of worries and struggles. Sneaky socially-distanced hug for anyone who needs one.
I’m just onto my second bottle of buserelin, my stomach is covered in little purple and yellow bruises and my ultrasound is on Wednesday.

Cleozeta · 20/09/2020 14:45

I have my 7 week scan on Thursday. I'm not holding out hope as I don't really have many symptoms. No sore boobs, not even any insomnia or hangover feelings like in my previous 5 pregnancies, so I am anticipating the worst.
We have decided to do the trip up north for the scan at the clinic, then we can have a meal out and stay in a hotel afterwards to try and cheer ourselves up if it's bad news.

Hope everyone is doing well?

@Sunbird24 what is buserelin? Are you preparing for a transfer?

Sunbird24 · 20/09/2020 15:32

@Cleozeta I’m down regulating, start stims on Wednesday if the ultrasound says I’m good to go. Expecting to do egg collection early next month...

Cleozeta · 20/09/2020 19:18

Good luck!

Leala20 · 21/09/2020 18:11

@Cleozeta 7 weeks already? Time flies! Hope all goes well for you and great you are going to Manchester and have a plan.
@Sunbird24 I haven’t done egg collection but it sounds like pre transfer treatment so all steps now. I am sure it feels more real now. I hope to have transfer next month just waiting on my AF to check how the hormones are this time.

Sunbird24 · 21/09/2020 19:46

Best of luck for your trip up north @Cleozeta!

@Leala20 hope AF turns up soon for you, which feels weird to say when people are TTC...

tikha · 23/09/2020 11:40

@Sunbird24 hope the scan well today. Things go faster from this stage on.
@Cleozeta good luck for your 7 week scan.
@Leala20 you learn new things everytime.. hope AF arrives soon
I will be having my followup discussion with consultant this upcoming Monday.

Sunbird24 · 23/09/2020 19:58

@tikha all good ta, started stims today so next scan a week on Friday and possibly egg collection a few days later.

I hope your follow up discussion is productive and optimistic.

Sunbird24 · 23/09/2020 19:59

Good luck for tomorrow @Cleozeta, will be thinking of you

tikha · 24/09/2020 10:10
