EachPeachPearMum · 02/04/2008 21:31

Sadly notyummy I am old enough to be remembering it from when it was released as a single...I think MArk Radcliffe used to play it on his 'out on blue 6 show.

Speaking of which- Has anyone read that book?
(thinking UQD, etc)

Notyummy · 02/04/2008 21:35

Oh,I remember when it was a single as well!

My bf at the time had it on a mix tape that another girl had sent to him, along with a letter to say she fancied him. To prove his lurve for me, he gave me that mix tape It was very good, also had some Cult and Waterboys Whole of the Moon, IRRC.

EachPeachPearMum · 02/04/2008 21:36

Ah...mix tapes.
A whole generation, and the rest of youth to come will not know their significance in the lives of love-lorn youth!!

I've just spent a fortune on iTunes thanks to this thread

Have now got so many fantastic songs to listen to that I am actually looking forward to my journey into work tomorrow.

Three of my all time favourite songs:

Cure - Pictures of You
Lloyd Cole - Forest Fire
Kirsty MacColl - New England

plus a bit of Carter USM - thanks so much whoever mentioned them.

Can't believe I'd forgotten all of these

Of course how could I not remember?!!
American Pie - Don Mclean

Jolene - Dolly

The Lion Sleeps Tonight - Tight Fit? I always sing this at the top of voice. To the annoyance of those around me. My friend does a great rock version on the guitar.
Raspberry Beret - Prince
Run - Snow Patrol

Pavlovthecat · 02/04/2008 21:48

Rip - Its one of those that I forget about, and when I hear it again, I just cant remember why I have not played it for so long, and play it again! In fact, I am about to play the whole album again. My most played album, although there are songs I like more at any given time, few which I love so consistently!

bigmouthstrikesagain · 02/04/2008 21:49

La Ritournelle by Beardy weirdy french bloke Sebastien Tellier.

Dry the Rain by the Beta band (also their 'She's the one' which is mine and Dh's song)
