I thought it was time to move over here from Telly Addicts as we're now discussing Joseph the musical, and not Any Dream Will Do. The other thread was about to get too full anyway.

Well, yes, my friend was totally off alcohol and pretty much any other liquid except water and all food. Weird, she's on some barmy equivalent of a cupasoup diet as far as I could work out. Although apparently it tastes better. Don't worry, me and her DH made up for the alcohol consumption!
But she was also a good shoulder to cry on which was what I needed.

Berrie · 16/08/2007 11:27

Any conclusions Boing?

BoingBoing · 16/08/2007 13:10

Nothing good! The conversation starts 'we need to talk' and ends.....who knows where? The question is about screwing up the courage then finding the right time.

oggsfrog · 17/08/2007 11:59

Gawd. This badge only costs £1 to buy.
It's at £3.40 now, with 3 days to go and postage is £1 .
It would be postable on a first class stamp, so seller is on a £3 profit.
I should have stocked up on them

Berrie · 17/08/2007 13:20

I want one!

BoingBoing · 17/08/2007 13:21

Or you could buy a kit and make your own. I see a nice little earner.....

Berrie · 17/08/2007 15:21

Mmm might not make me the fortune I'm dreaming of

DumbledoresGirl · 17/08/2007 19:28

I know you lot are completely besotted with Lee Mead, but can I please share with you my own little joy? I tried to book to see Lee in the West End production but could not get tickets and anyway, it would have been prohibitively expensive for my family of 6.

But the children love the musical and so when a touring production was advertise locally, I booked 6 tickets for September, not knowing who was going to play Joseph (and not particularly caring either as the musical is good enough in itself). Well, guess what I found out on Breakfast tv this week? Only that Craig Chalmers from Any Dream Will Do is going to play the part. Now I know none of you liked him or wanted him to win and I didn't think he should win either, but I DID like him - I thought he was a genuine guy who was trying hard to improve - and I am really excited that I am going to be seeing him. To be honest, although Lee was my favourite for the part, I would have been happy to see any of the last 6, but Craig (although not the best) was the one after Lee that won my heart. So, I am so excited about going now!

Berrie · 17/08/2007 19:42

Dumblesdores, I hope you have a fantastic time and please call in and tell us all about it but really... would you honestly have been happy to see Keith

oggsfrog · 17/08/2007 20:26

Hope you all thoroughly enjoy the show Dumble. When in Sept are you going?
Didn't like Craig myself (despite him remindng me somewhat of Eddie Izzard ) but I'm sure it will be a great show, and will be well worth seeing.
As Berrie says....come back and let us know how you get on. It really is a fantastic musical regardless of who is playing Joseph.

Berrie... tsk..... don't let my dd hear you disrespecting Keith in that way

DumbledoresGirl · 17/08/2007 20:28

LOL well sooner Keith than Lewis! Keith did have an amazing voice and as we are in the back row anyway, I wouldn't have to see his pixie face!

Craig as Eddie Izzard? Interesting. He reminds me of Robert Redford!

Berrie · 17/08/2007 20:40

Chortle chortle Oggs...yes Eddie Izzard!

Who was it called him Kieth the Teeth? I remember that made me larf!

Dumbles...why was Lewis so bad? OK his singing was iffy but he was way more animated than Craig! I'm not some odd saddo really...

DumbledoresGirl · 17/08/2007 20:43

More animated? Really? Do you have some new kind of tv where you can stick pins in the screen and make the performers jump around a bit more? I thought Lewis was very dull. Still smarting that he was saved and Daniel was voted off in that sing off!

oggsfrog · 17/08/2007 20:46

Robert Redford???????????? Lordy, dumble. I presume you mean RR as he is now (with his crepey, somehow odd face), as opposed to in his sundance kid days??

oggsfrog · 17/08/2007 20:49

Denise's comments about Lewis appearing somewhat like a tarantula were very appropriate
I really didn't like him at first, but found myself warming to him.

DumbledoresGirl · 17/08/2007 20:50

The only time I warmed to him (apart from when he was voted out and made a hash of Close Every Door to me, the only one to do so) was when he cried when Daniel was voted off instead of him. I think that showed that he knew he was on borrowed time from then on.

oggsfrog · 17/08/2007 21:00

Gonna have to go now. Connection speed is crap, and it's peeing down which means it will only get worse
Feeling in need of wine (had to have cat put to sleep today ) and a good Danny Dyer film (actually any Danny Dyer film )
Have a good evening.

Berrie · 17/08/2007 21:01

Craig looked like he had had an overdose of botox...and I'm not naturally mean...I wanted to like him!

re: Keith the teeth.... It's not that I am advocating physicaly related taunts...otherwise I would be Berrie the Belly

Berrie · 17/08/2007 21:12

Ah sorry Oggs...have a nice drink...wierd...I'm all done on the drink front, soon for bed...how restrained of you!

oggsfrog · 18/08/2007 18:28

Been out shopping with dd today for school things - she goes back on Tuesday

We had "Joseph the Musical" tape with JD on the way there, and the Lee compilation on the way home. God, his voice really does things to me , I can't get enough of it [lascivious emotion] .

Had nice wine last night, and v. nice Danny Dyer film

Berrie · 19/08/2007 08:58

We went out last night for the first time in ages, it was lovely. We had a lovely chinese meal. It's our anniversary next week and my birthday the week after so there should be more of that babysitter permitting!

Do you know what though, early evening before going out I thought...what I'd really like tonight is for Any Dream Will Do to be on with live Lee action...ah well

oggsfrog · 19/08/2007 09:48

I know what you mean Berrie .

Dd and I watched our "all over the place" videos again last night.....and this morning. Was hoping that I might revise my opinion about Craig.... but nope... still can't see the appeal/attraction

How long have you been with dh?

Berrie · 19/08/2007 10:11

We-ell. We've been married 6 years on Sunday but we first 'got together' 20 years ago in November. A fact mentioned by me numerous times over the last year but which he was unable to recall when asked last night How about you?

oggsfrog · 19/08/2007 11:59

We've been together 20 years as of May, and married 14 years in Dec.

Doesn't the time fly

Berrie · 19/08/2007 14:09
