Madeleine McCann

Arlanymor · 15/11/2025 17:29

Missing people (likely victims of crime) always seem to stay with me.

Andrew Gosden
Suzy Lamplugh
Lee Boxell
Charlene Downes

Don't give a crap about justice-evading Lord Lucan however...

Ihavepaidalotforthisstory · 15/11/2025 17:30

James bulger 🙏 RIP

bookworm14 · 15/11/2025 17:30

Emily Jones.

TwinkleTwinkleLittleBatgirl · 15/11/2025 17:31

Ben Needham and why he and his family didn’t get the money, support and coverage of the McCanns

Coffeeandcake32 · 15/11/2025 17:33

I went through life being very similar if not exactly the same age of these victims when they were murdered so stuck in my mums mind and passed on to me. James bulger, holly and jessica, sarah payne.

Joeninety · 15/11/2025 17:35

The great British public.

ConnieHeart · 15/11/2025 17:37

Melanie Hall. She was from the same town as me and I'd often go to the nightclub where she was last seen. We were similar ages too. Would love to see her killer brought to justice.

Jill Dando. I was just so shocked. How someone in the prime of her life (reminded me of Princess Diana) can be so brutally assassinated and for the killer to still be out there. Seeing the coverage of her funeral in the papers & her elderly, frail dad broke my heart

MannersAreAll · 15/11/2025 17:38

Lin and Meghan Russell. And Josie of course. Just such a shocking crime.

Obeseandashamed · 15/11/2025 17:39

Holly and Jessica wells, Shannon Matthews, Baby P, Victoria C, Jamie Bulger, Ben Needham, Bernaz Mahmoud and Shafilea Ahmed

Obeseandashamed · 15/11/2025 17:40

Reading this thread really highlights how prevalent crimes against women are 😢

Those two cases show the difference in the 24 hour rolling news age.

Same with Katrice Lee - her disappearance never got the coverage it should have either.

BruisedNeckMeat · 15/11/2025 17:43

Arthur Labinjo-Hughes - the details
of his neglect and death were utterly horrific. The fact it happened during lockdowns when the people who could have spotted the signs were not there will never not make me furious.

DarkLion · 15/11/2025 17:45

Jessica and Holly as I was a child when it happened and also the family of Libby Squire

James bulger 🙏 RIP

This is the first who springs to mind when ever someone mentions horrific crime.

When this happened i had just had my eldest DC. I sat and sobbed watching the news because i really wondered what sort of world i'd just bought a baby into 🙁

WaneyEdge · 15/11/2025 17:45

Janet Brown - featured on Crimewatch Live a couple of weeks ago. I’ve followed the case on/off for years since I read about it in ‘Picking Up The Pieces’ by Paul Britton.

Kevin Hicks - similar area(ish) to Lee Boxell and just seemingly vanished. The Met have said they believe he was murdered.

Claudia Lawrence.

Penny Bell.

RatsAss · 15/11/2025 17:47

Lesley Whittle, her experience was horrific, 17 years old and trapped down a manhole with wire round her neck. She died of terror. I was really young at the time and I had nightmares about her.

HearMeOutt · 15/11/2025 17:47

Milly Dowler. I read her sister’s book a while back and it was the most harrowing thing I’ve ever read. For context I’ve worked in crime for a decade and it was still extremely upsetting. The family went through so much that was never made public knowledge. I often think of her sister and hope she’s doing well (and her parents).

Id say it was how prevalent crimes against children are.

maddiemookins16mum · 15/11/2025 17:49

Sophie Hook and Lesley Whittle. Like a PP I was a child when Lesley was kidnapped and murdered, it terrified me.

GreenHolly · 15/11/2025 17:50

Claudia Lawrence - whatever has happened to her, I feel so sad for her friends and family.

me24x · 15/11/2025 17:53

Baby P god rest his soul. I remember being a young child sat in the car when my dad picked up a newspaper from the shop and I read about it, I was distraught.
