Anyone doing NaNoWriMo 2020?

I have a novel outline (romantic) and am just filling out bits and bobs...character development etc. I should be extremely well prepped for November so considering giving it a go. Anyone else ? Hoping for a realistic 900 words plus a day.

Hello all! I've managed 2,300 today which makes it up to just under 8,000 so far since November 1st so really pleased. There's something very motivating about seeing the line on the graph creep up every day isn't there! I'm desperately trying to silence my inner editor and just keep pantsing through it, not even reading it back. It's very hard! Good to see how you're all doing.

I've managed around 1100 today, hoping to do some more this evening.

Hi can I join you all please? This is my first year, I write factual articles/books as part of my job but this is my first attempt at fiction.
I always start a story then give up at page 5 so I thought this might motivate me to just get more words down.
I'm at 6850 which I'm pretty pleased about. I'm aiming for 1667 a day to get me roughly up to 50k.

Well done everyone, getting any words down at all is a massive achievement as it's not easy.

This is probably my 6th or 7th attempt at this novel, I hope that this time I can push myself beyond the first three chapters!

Keep going! I've had a less productive day, at least partially due to one of the computers refusing to connect the motherboard with anything else. Dh is working on it now.
That meant I had to calm ds down (his homework is saved on it ) and then he used my computer.

Precisely 1000 words popped out very quickly and easily in 30 minutes this morning, really good words too - they’re a bit close to home in places but maybe that helps?

Now I’m wishing I’d spent more time in my life privately writing what I have to say and less time letting it come out in speech. Maybe I wouldn’t be facing lockdown 2.0 so alone then! 😀

I'm doing well, helped by a 10k day on the 1st Nov so that I can let things slip if I get busy later in the month. To be fair the house is a bombsite and I and I and I need to restock my little Amazon shop for Xmas.

Pleased with my total word count so far - 5678, for me it’s much more about forming the habits than hitting the targets. Like training for a sub 2h half marathon for example, it’s the regular consistent training that counts rather than the actual race

Made it to 10k overall today after doing another 2.4k. I'm loving it, my only issue is resisting the urge to go back and edit!
Really hope I can sustain this through November. As I'm shielding now I guess I'll have more time, got to look to the positive I suppose...

I'm having problems in that one of our computers stopped working, so ds is now using mine. That has reduced my work count!

Oh no, that sounds annoying Witchend! Can you use Google Docs on your phone for a while? On my iPhone I use it with the keyboard microphone to dictate the words.

Hello all, I'm joining you. I've just registered for NaNoWriMo, yes 7 days late but better late than never

Earlier this year I wrote 60,000 words of my first draft but then I hit the tricky muddle of a middle, I lost my confidence, life intervened and I stopped writing. I'm going to pick up from where I left off and write 50,000 words. I'm determined to do it now as with NaNoWriMo there's the support of a community, and if I don't get cracking and have the discipline of a deadline and necessary consistency I know I'll just keep putting it off.

Thankfully he had 2 hours of zoom drama this afternoon so I managed to get in a good amount then, and he's now been sent to bed, so I'll do some more.

I'm happy to report that I managed to write 4k words today, bringing my total up to 8.5k. I'm still behind but should be able to get more done tomorrow.
