Well, on the East coast anyway. It is so disheartening all this rain. Feel like summer is passing us by.

Ooh I like the sound of this and I'm not too far from you.

Bf doesn't camp

Check out Wild Wanderers Ireland Women Only on FB, I've been away a few times and it's been good fun.

Happierwithouthim · 04/08/2023 16:00

Will do thank you, had hoped that I'd get to fabsil the tent this weekend but it'll have to wait for better weather.

Twoscotcheggsandajarofmarmite · 04/08/2023 16:23

My daughter has gone off to Indiependance in Mitchelstown and eldest son off to All Together Now. I do not envy either of them in a tent in this weather.

Chickenkeev · 04/08/2023 16:28

Neighbours kids in house here. Not a usual occurrance. Rain is stop/ start.

Doggydarling · 04/08/2023 17:12

Ah, trying to find enough drying to fabsil, I know the feeling. Bought a second hand tent earlier in the year and fabsil'd it but it needs another going and seam sealing but the rain is stopping everything.

If it's any consolation, i went to Glastonbury some years ago. First night was crap, lashing, but tent kept it out. And after that, i got fried (my fault!). So we'll all cross the fingers for better weather for them!

My older lad came down from Dublin last night and went to All Together Now this morning. He said he got a good location to set up his tent. He's planning on coming home over the weekend for a shower if the showers at the festival are rank.

The jacks however were a different matter entirely!

So handy, i did that with Oxygen when i lived i Dublin. A fry up and a shower before day two. Set up for the day!

I don’t so much mind the colder temperatures. As long as there isn’t endless rain Im happy.
I remember scorching summer holidays as a child, water fights in gardens etc. but honestly I just think we remember those days and not the dreary stuck-indoors days

Twoscotcheggsandajarofmarmite · 04/08/2023 19:20

We live near enough to Mitchelstown that I can pick her up in the morning to go home for a shower and a nap and some food, then I’ll drop her back before the fun starts again. The other fella will just have to take his chances in his cheap Tesco tent!

Magicmichelle · 06/08/2023 05:41

Global warming. There's been a huge marine heatwave off the west of Ireland. Rising temperatures mean the wet summers are probably here to stay. There's an article in the Irish Times about it at the moment. I like autumnal weather, so I don't mind.

Hoping to do it Monday!

Rain is forecast here in Dublin yet again.

The poor farmers, it must be so difficult for them in this weather. ☹️

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 06/08/2023 12:05

Too much rain is a weird thing, my garden flowers are blooming their flipping heads off, they've never looked this good but one of my friends works in a community garden she was telling me that things that had a massive crop last year are just not growing at all this year.

God, we've come a long way from brushing your teeth in cider three days in a row at Féile. Grin

(Did Féile even have showers, or did we just get ranker and ranker?)

Cazzovuoi · 06/08/2023 13:09

If it’s any consolation it’s 17° in my part of France (near the Swiss border) and it’s been raining all day.

Theres a local Facebook group for Irish people in the area (there’s 75 of us!!) and there’s nothing but moaning about the weather.

You can take us of the island …. Grin

Mine were great but the beautiful roses are gone but I'm hoping for a second bloom.
The lavender is beaten down Sad and the geraniums / pelargoniums aren't much better.
The sun is now splitting the stones after a very heavy shower.

JaneJeffer · 06/08/2023 14:46

Jesus the poor women playing in the all Ireland camogie final haven't even started and they're drenched. The coverage sound has gone all weird Confused

Not too bad in the west but definitely nippier today.

JaneJeffer · 06/08/2023 15:21

You don't say!

Another dreary day in Ireland

So so sick of the rain and it’s going to be hard going into autumn /winter like this.. I also think this will hugely affect our tourism for following years.
The heat in other places is difficult but so is constant rain …very limiting and we are v much make the best of everything type of people.
That and insane hotel costs and prices of eating out.. in my opinion this will have a really negative affect on tourism…. It’s way too expensive here
