Well, on the East coast anyway. It is so disheartening all this rain. Feel like summer is passing us by.

romdowa · 31/07/2023 12:13

Very heavy showers here in west cork. Trying to get my toddler out between the downpours

stayathomer · 31/07/2023 12:14

In the midlands and yes, I agree, the summer is disappearing but hopefully will get some more!!

SunMootStars · 31/07/2023 12:15

Woke up this morning and it was so dark and grey! So annoying and feel sorry for the kids on their "summer holidays"!

Chickenkeev · 31/07/2023 12:17

Is it just me, but i remember getting burned to a crisp back in the day? There is no sun now like.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 31/07/2023 12:20

Another dreary day in the U.K. too.

Cold, grey, drizzly and windy. Have had to put the heating on to dry clothes.

I was just saying to my friend the other day that I'm sure the days where longer too years ago. The brightness in the sky was there way later.

I lit a fire during the week. Will have one tonight too.

It’s miserably cold here, raining, and so windy. Even the dog won’t go out.

CatandSpoon · 31/07/2023 12:32

Yep wet here in the midlands. For the last fortnight

JenniferBarkley · 31/07/2023 12:35

Miserable up here in NI too. So feckin fed up of it, kids have hardly played in the garden all summer. Got them a paddling pool, haven't used it once.

I don't mind any of it as long as it is changeable -- I keep reminding myself of how much I hated the samey hot, dry weather when I lived in the Middle East.

Beyond a joke now at this stage.... My insta is full of posts about the Galway races and fancy gunas, hope it brightens up for them!!

oakleaffy · 31/07/2023 12:44

Raining in West of England too- Such a different to last year with the heatwaves.

oakleaffy · 31/07/2023 12:45

Edit :Difference-rain on screen is making it post weird stuff.

Same in West Limerick, sick of it. Was hoping for a summer full of camping (now that I found a group of women who enjoy camping cause husband hated it) but who'd be bothered in this weather? All the gear and no where to go, throughly pissed off. I want a few sunny days, camped beside a river with the campfire going at night and a few drinks. By the way women only camping is great fun.

I said this to bf who is a bit older than me, that we'd summers of hot weather when I was a child in late 80s and he said that's the rose tinted specs Hmm

Looking out the window at work now at rain bouncing off the ground, had planned a walk with my friend this evening after work sure it's like a day in November!

Ooh I like the sound of this and I'm not too far from you.

Bf doesn't camp

Seems like it has rained every since primary school kids got off. BBQ used twice . Feel like summer never came at all , long evenings looking at rain or everything is too wet and muddy to enjoy during the breaks . Hard to believe secondary schools will be back in a few weeks.

Shurleyknot · 31/07/2023 15:49

Awful it really is. I think it is as bad as 2007.

I came back from hols on 10th July and I haven't needed to water flowers yet and they've not bloomed either so it definitely is dismal

starrynight19 · 31/07/2023 16:11

Rained here in the north west pretty much every day since the middle of June. Windy and cold too. August looks to be following suit. Goodbye summer.

ElizaMulvil · 31/07/2023 16:58

When I watch the weather forecast and see dark blue sitting happily over Mayo - again, I'm thankful my ggrandparents left for Manchester. One step only in the right direction though.

Indeed I'm now further east in Sheffield - cold and drizzly atm so barely any better. Not right.

Radyward · 31/07/2023 17:28

Im absolutely goin mad with this weather . its not just drizzle its heavy bursts of down pours for weeks here in the midlands .last saturday was really sunny in the morning and then 2 hrs later down pours.i think the weather is affecting peoples moods now. sooo depressing
