Well, on the East coast anyway. It is so disheartening all this rain. Feel like summer is passing us by.

Plus omg the poor kids- stuck on screens most days. its just awful for them- cant even go to a playground.and the likes of jump zone/ go karting no one can afford to do every week!! id take 40' heat. At least you can splash in a pool at 8.pm

Begonne · 31/07/2023 17:35

Three best days in Ireland:
Christmas Day
St Patrick’s Day
Summer

Abra1t · 31/07/2023 17:37

Was there a heatwave in June in Ireland? We had one here in southern England--about second and third weeks, I recall.

I bought some new t-shirts and a sleeveless cotton dress. This is all my fault.

Italianasoitis · 31/07/2023 17:40

I live in Italy and was cursing the 30 plus degree weather. Came home last week and had to out and buy a pair of tights today. Was looking for a cheap coat too. Had to buy my kids warmer clothes and shoes too. Have the baby in about 10 layers at night. On the plus side, I don't need two showers a day, sun cream or mosquito spray.

JaneJeffer · 31/07/2023 18:28

There was @Abra1t I was living in T-shirts and shorts. I felt so much better and enthusiastic when the weather was good and now I'm back to being meh again.

VaddaABeetch · 31/07/2023 18:46

@Doggydarling where did you find the women’s camping group? I’d love that.

sick of the rain in Dublin.

I even bought a neck fan 😂

JaneJeffer · 31/07/2023 18:52

I think last year was worse because we had awful weather and everyone in England was on here complaining about how hot it was. Much more solidarity this year Grin

alittleadvicepls · 31/07/2023 19:07

To be fair, we did have almost 2 weeks of really hot weather last month! Maybe it’ll come back just in time for school?

JaneJeffer · 31/07/2023 19:22

Dreary day in England too, summer ended weeks ago it seems. Apparently due to the jet stream..., but fed up

newfloorplease · 31/07/2023 19:28

I can't get ITV 😢

Chickenkeev · 31/07/2023 19:31

Pissing down here. And no ITV either. Woe is me!

End of may and June were good, if it comes in Sept I'll enjoy it then too!

gemstoneju · 31/07/2023 19:50

in the north, getting up to put the radiators on right now.

It's so miserable, I prefer the winter when at least you can draw the curtains at six o'clock and close it all out. Sitting in the dreary dregs of daylight until half nine is soul-destroying.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 31/07/2023 20:03

I've been really lucky today, every time I've been out it has been a dry spell. Poor DS has got soaked through several times and has had two showers to warm up again.

AnSionnachGlic · 31/07/2023 20:12

Well it's officially the wettest July on record ( according to TV3 news). Its so miserable. We got carried away with the few sunny weeks in June, bought new garden furniture but haven't used them once😭

alittleadvicepls · 01/08/2023 08:28

All the moaning must’ve worked! Glorious sunny morning in Dublin! (So far)

JenniferBarkley · 01/08/2023 08:33

Dry and grey here. Frankly, I'll take it.

There was nice weather in May, I know this because I was in Menorca in the rain while everyone moaned about the heat at home AngryGrin

Happierwithouthim · 01/08/2023 10:14

The skies cleared for me yesterday evening to go on a 4 mile walk with my friend, came back refreshed and it has stayed dry since.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 01/08/2023 10:18

I went for a walk last night and it was dry but very windy and cold for July. I had put a raincoat on in case of rain and I had to zip it up to keep warm.
