It's the Asda one. We used it for petrol and grosseries and It's been built up over many months. I just checked and got £33 for the year, but it's 0.75% cashback but £20 when you sign up.

Alwaysgrowing · 21/06/2026 16:55

@Lockin26 I first got a credit card for spending abroad on holiday so they're good for that, but this is an Asda credit card, I set it to pay off in full every month.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 21/06/2026 17:15

@AlwaysgrowingLooking at it all, it doesn't seem like you've overspent on anything daft. Mostly groceries, birthday bits and things you needed. Plus you did well with the vouchers and Vinted sale. 😊
I hope your DD had the most wonderful birthday bless her 🎈 🎉

Lovely lunch and under budget too well done @Frugal25! 👏😊 Such rotten timing with the fridge, but at least you've got a new one on the way, well done your Dh 😁
I don't think a sympathy card on Thursday is too late at all sweetheart your friend will really appreciate it p am sure bless her ❤️.

I've started using my CC as my DC and I put my weekly spending money onto it. I get a bit of cashback and a bit of protection.

Alwaysgrowing · 21/06/2026 17:41

@DirtyGertiefromno30 yes, your right. I did cut my regular hours at work a while back and still trying to balance. We don't actually budget. Just keep an eye on things instead. I was hoping to do an extra shift this month before I'm too pregnant but the clinic was cancelled. I am concidering putting my name down for a July shift.

Thanks. Thought that may be the case @Alwaysgrowing I will have a look at that although I likely only spend max £50 pm in Asda. Always up for free vouchers and cashback!

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 21/06/2026 18:40

Good idea @DeepFriedCreamEgg 😁, l used my Marks CC online and it gives me a little bit back in vouchers .
You had a good deal with your Asda CC
@Lockin26money back is a real bonus.😁.
Well done for doing extra shifts @Alwaysgrowing , it helps with the overall costs good for you sweetheart 👏

£4.05 in Sainsbury’s on milk, a samosa and some Oreos. £5.98 on two TGTGs.

@DirtyGertiefromno30 I got two Greggs hot grab bags today on impulse. I have five big boxes and 12 little boxes. I’m not sure what of yet. Flat breads are good and they’ll see me for a few more days yet.

I’m being nosey @Frugal25. Do you mountain much? I love it and would do it all the time if I could. Though I’ve never been near the Carpathians. What a nightmare with your fridge. Glad a new on is on its way. I don’t think it would be rude to send the card later in the week. Fingers crossed for your no spends this week.

Great on the voucher use @Alwaysgrowing. And glad you had a nice birthday weekend with your daughter.

Went to the Queen Elizabeth II Her Life in Style exhibition today. I didn’t really feel like going but dragged myself out and I’m glad I went as I regather enjoyed it. As a bonus I managed to use a hopper fare there and back. Think my samosa phase has ended the one I bought today was oily and I didn’t enjoy it. The Oreos are in the freezer as apparently they are like ice cream sandwiches when frozen.

Took at look at the weather for this week it’s now meant to get to 42 on Wednesday.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 21/06/2026 19:53

Omg l so hope you enjoy the hot grab bags from Greggs @RumBananaSundae 😊🤞😋
That was amazing managing to get them well done 😁.
I would love to go to that Exhibition l have been coveting tickets😁
Oreos in the freezer sound delicious 😋

42 😲 that sounds absolutely disgusting.
I am really hoping sports day is cancelled this week.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 21/06/2026 21:31

Fingers crossed for the sports day cancellation @DeepFriedCreamEgg 🙏🤞

OP posts:
Lockin26 · 21/06/2026 21:45

@DeepFriedCreamEgg I think a lot of sports days will be cancelled - 42 is too much. In 2022 it was 39° here (NE) and my DDs class (Year 6) spent the day in the shade with their feet in buckets of cold water, with lolly pops and water.

DD has washed her PE kit in the hope school let them wear it this week!

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 22/06/2026 18:58

Evening everyone 🤗
Mum fine thankfully 😁. l bought her a cool blanket from Amazon £33.
Also Aldi £40 for bits for us and Mum.
Had to get British Gas out to fix our boiler , it didn't cost anything because we pay monthly for insurance for the boiler and central heating thank God 🙏. A pipe had split , anyway he sorted it out but it took him a while TBF.
It's absolutely boiling here supposed to be thunder and lightening coming . We shall see 😁.
Hope everyone is ok and having a lovely evening ☺️

Hello my gorgeous lot
NSD for me. Yippee.

Oh no, your boiler @DirtyGertiefromno30glad you pay monthly but sorry it took him a while though.
Wish we had storms brewing here. But so glad your mum is ok ☺️
I'll be honest with you @RumBananaSundaeim a bit of a weird one. I will tell you I don't like walking or climbing mountains and then go and do it and have such a brilliant time. But then when I'm next asked, tell you I don't enjoy it. Go and do it again and have the best time. I have no idea why I think I don't enjoy it when I so clearly do! I did Snowdon just before I had DD with my lovely brother and it was a blast. What mountains have you done? Def add Carpathians to your list. Just a dream.
I so want to do that exhibition, I loved the queen and her style was so glamorous and she knew what to wear for everything.
Have you opened your bags yet?

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 22/06/2026 20:27

AHH thank you're my Mum and my boiler @Frugal25, well done on your NSD too excellent job sweetheart.
Sounds like you really do like hiking but perhaps it's the thought of getting everything ready not the actual hiking . 😁 It must need a fair bit of equipment.
I know l want to do that exhibition but have no hope of going with my Mum like she is , we will have to live vicariously through @RumBananaSundae bless her 😁

Husband is on night shift tonight and he's just rang and woke the house up grrr wasn't even anything important. The judge would understand if I put him under the patio, right?.

Frugal25 · 23/06/2026 06:44

I also live through @RumBananaSundae, she does so many amazing things and I love hearing about them. Just been looking at the exhibition...... Sigh.
@DeepFriedCreamEgg you do need a new patio. Your one is quite old now. 😂

Well as the saying goes. Be careful what you wish for. We have had storms all night. Storms lined up one after the other. At one point I counted 3 going on. It's still rumbling away in the background. And the rain! I haven't slept.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 23/06/2026 08:18

Good morning everyone 🌄
Well it's boiling here already, we have shut up the upstairs and soon the downstairs phew 🥵.
NSD for me yay 😁
Going to see Mum soon not planning on doing anything else today just going to try and stay cool .
How very dare he @DeepFriedCreamEgg😱
The patio is too conspicuous , it's the first place they will look , they always suspect the spouse 🤣.
You had the storm that was earmarked for us by the sound it it @Frugal25 🥺.
Nothing happened here despite the numerous predictions of thunder and lightning 🌩️ ⚡
Sorry you didn't sleep well, hope you have a good day despite that 🤞.
Hope everyone has a good day 🤗

@Frugal25
Didn't you mother teach you to share? Floating in here gloating about your storms and here I am sweating from places I didn't even think had glands.

Also living through our Dora the Explorer.

We may have stollen your thunderstorm as we were predicted any but got one at 8pm then heavy rain. So I was very grateful the lack of evening sun in the kids rooms. When the storms came the met office updated Wednesday and Thursday highs from 38 to 35/36

Frugal25 · 23/06/2026 08:46

I shall gladly share, sending rain your way as we speak!

Currently it's boiling hot (the storms didn't make it cooler weirdly) and waiting for my new fridge. I am hoping to just pay for yoga tonight which will be £10. OH is working in Paris next week so I can't go then so looking forward to it tonight. Might take DD to the park today as it's free and she will get worn out. Her school is closed for the next few days and mum won't take her out tomorrow so need to do stuff today.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 23/06/2026 17:29

Omg @Alwaysgrowing38C that's ridiculous 🙄 glad the forecast has reduced a little. Take care of yourself. Hope your fridge came and you are pleased with it @Frugal25 🤞.
Schools closed here too , right decision l feel tbh. Hope you had a lovely day with your Dd and enjoy Yoga tonight.
Just settling down to watch Portugal v Uzbekistan then England v Ghana 😁
