£24 in Aldi on what feels like nothing!
I can remember when it used to get a decent shop for a few days!

Well l costed a few things up and it does seem hit and miss unless it's
exatly the same item. Then of course it's obvious which is the better deal .
I didn't buy anything branded there so l was thwarted 😁.

That is a lot to deal with @drspouse remember to stick your own oxygen mask on first, perhaps small doses then remove yourself to go and have a piece of cake or a treat 🍰

Hope you enjoyed your lunch @Frugal25

Totally agree @DeepFriedCreamEgg I did a Lidl shop tonight, just enough to see us to the weekend. Only took me 20 mins to do the shop, two bags £50 😲

Hope the weather perks up for you @DirtyGertiefromno30 I am also a pavlova fan.

Also Tesco £2.35

Grocery shop and social life bill quite high this month. Need to be creative with what I have in for a week! Still have a meal out for Father's day this Sunday 💰 😲

Frugal25 · 18/06/2026 12:35

Hello all,
Oh @drspouse that's a very hard situation. Like others have said, small doses and look after yourself first. If it gets too much, leave politely and do something nice.
Weather here glorious.
£3.50 on lunch yesterday with friend. Meal deal from Tesco to sit in the sunshine.
£10.55 today on swimming.
£73 on weekly shop in Lidl although I do have lunch booked for Sunday too.
£18 on a frame for father's day as the last one was too small. Ffs. Shall keep and use oh something else but it was a waste of money.

There were no buses to or from work yesterday. I walked instead of getting taxis. I was pooped and quite "glowy" by the end of the day.

Pay day tomorrow.

DeepFriedCreamEgg · 18/06/2026 13:00

I'm having a real thing for tinned tomatoes on toast this week... Least it's cheap!
Definitely recommend the marks and sparks tinned ones about 50pence and lovely.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 18/06/2026 20:54

Evening everyone 🤗
NSD for me today, Mum was fine thankfully 😁
Weather bit better this afternoon at least it was dry. Supposed to be much nicer over the weekend fingers crossed 🤞
Hope you have a lovely Father's day meal on Sunday @Lockin26
Terrible prices on groceries no matter what or where we buy by the seems of it 🙄.
Hope you had a good pay day today @Frugal25 😁 , enjoy the dinner in Sunday. Shame about the frame but you will find a use for the other one .
Your friend who you have a meal deal with for lunch sounds brilliant, no fuss just a lovely little lunch and a good chin wag 😁
Am going to Marks tomorrow or Saturday @DeepFriedCreamEgg guess what l am going to get 😁
Hope everyone is ok and having a good evening, watching the footy here 😁

My granny and grandad would often have tinned toms on toast. Thank you for reminding me of a lovely memory @DeepFriedCreamEgg. Glad you're enjoying. I may add to meal plan too.
So glad your mum is ok @DirtyGertiefromno30. Come to Essex, it's HOT here today and yesterday. I'm currently WFH in a bikini top. Camera is off!

Pay day. And. Drum roll. I paid off my car finance!!!!!!
And I've worked out that credit card is now 4 payments away from being cleared.
I'm buzzing.
£60 Sainsbury's monthly delivery on all the bits that Lidl doesn't do. But I'm going to challenge myself to having more NSD than not for 4 months.
I would like my car cleaned tomorrow as I promised myself I would once the loan had been paid so I'll take that out of savings and then not have it done again until cc is paid off.

Absolutely baking here. And I'm making pizza this evening for dinner. My kitchen will be like a sauna.

DeepFriedCreamEgg · 19/06/2026 14:44

Awe that's fantastic frugal!!
Definitely take your car to the suddy disco

DeepFriedCreamEgg · 19/06/2026 14:45

Spends
Thursday NSD
Friday - £10 for my daughter to attend play event with her new class mates which I think is absolutely worth it.
£9 on berries (again) and lemonade. So one recommendations their canned lemonade is basically lemon Fanta imo.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 19/06/2026 15:36

Afternoon everyone 😊
Shopping @Tesco£73
Aldi £18
They included Dh's Father's day gifts and a couple of other bargains l couldn't resist 😁
That’s brilliant @Frugal25😁👏
Car finance being paid off is a huge win 👏 and only 4 payments left on the credit card , you are so close now! 🤗
Love the NSD plan too, very focused.
WFH in a bikini top with camera off is peak heatwave survival 😂
Enjoy your pizza sauna later and thank you so much re my Mum bless you 🍕🔥😁
Money very well spent on your Dd's playdate @DeepFriedCreamEgg 👏😁
I always buy the big bottles of Tesco lemonade l think they are 90p and on a £1.30 for 2 offer. DH really likes them lemon zero l think they are called.
Hope everyone is happy and having g lovely weather . Its lovely here today , l have dried 2 loads of washing on the line already yay!

Been fed up so had a frivolous few days. Haven’t counted but I have a £10 left in my purse.

Glad your mum is doing ok @DirtyGertiefromno30.

Well done on the car finance @Frugal25. Enjoy your pizza. Put pineapple on it.

We’re forecast 38 next week @DeepFriedCreamEgg. I’m ok with it for a few days but I think by the end of next week I’ll be irritated by it.

Not had the best few days. Was meant to be having a callback about a job today but they didn’t call. Am sure it will be a no as I think they want a civil servant. Feel like I’m wasting my time but I’ll not find a job if I don’t look. It’s rather soul destroying. My boss finally crawled out their hole this week and helpfully told me no one valued what I did. Great.

Have life admin to do this weekend. Now I’ve told you hopefully it will push me to get it done.

DeepFriedCreamEgg · 19/06/2026 19:05

@RumBananaSundae
I hope your bosses pillow is so uncomfortable and their cover sticks to them.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 19/06/2026 19:12

At least you enjoyed yourself and still have a tenner left @RumBananaSundae 🤗. Sorry it's been such a rubbish week for you . Being let down over a job callback is so frustrating, but don't write it off yet. You never know . You're right though ,you won't find a job if you stop looking, even if the process feels soul destroying. And your boss's comment was hardly helpful. 🙄.
AHH thank you so much Mum seems quite settled for now 😊.
38 degrees sounds awful 🥵 l would be melting 😱. Hope you have a lovely weekend 😊.

Buckle up, it's a big spend day!
I forgot to pay for my counselling session so £75
Paid for my next 10 Pilates sessions £90 (arguably much better value)
Completely exhausted after a night in A&E (well, till 1 am) with DS who fell off his bike) so went for iced coffee (£4.40) lunch at a Japanese stall in a pop up food festival (£10) and ice cream (£3.30). Parking £2.40 (went to the beach for the coffee etc.!)

And a takeaway (burritos - very fussy family but they came up trumps with a chicken free chicken burrito for DD and a burrito free chicken nuggets and nachos for DS!) £51.59

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 19/06/2026 20:59

Cor, that WAS a spendy day @drspouse! The counselling and Pilates they're both worth it though. And after a night in A&E with your Ds I'd definitely have needed the coffee, lunch and ice cream too 😋👏
I hope your DS is ok and you catch up on your sleep sweetheart 💐
