I spent £2.79 on some buffalo feta. I’d never seen it before so thought I’d try it. Then £1.50 on a bag of crisps.

Any chance of a swapsie @Frugal25? Quite fancy a blueberry muffin. Not feeling carrot cake. It’s still in the freezer. I’m not sure who I’d say I was like. Think this conversation needs more thought. Glad you had a nice time with your friend.

I did see Claudia Winkleman in Fortnums once @DirtyGertiefromno30. She’s a British Museum trustee. I wouldn’t mind having her bank balance. Glad your mum is doing OK today. Blimey diabetes must have been a shock for your friend.

Had a chat with the union rep. They were very helpful saying they were there to listen. Errmmmmm no. I’m paying for your advice, guidance, whatever you want to call it. I think nothing helpful will be coming from that direction. I did get my application sent off. I’m not hopeful but it’s a start.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 10/06/2026 20:50

Buffalo feta you say @RumBananaSundae well l love Feta so l can only think it must be delicious !£1.50 on crisps is an investment in my book 🤣
I think you're right, the celebrity comparison needs more thought , you're definitely not easy to put in a box 😉 😁. And I wouldn't mind Claudia Winkleman's bank balance either!
I'm glad you got your application sent off. I know you're not feeling hopeful, but it's a positive step forward and that's what matters ❤️
The union rep sounds disappointing though. When you're paying membership fees, you'd hope for more than just a listening ear. It has to be done though 🙄. Try every avenue . Go through all the motions .
Mum's had a good day today, thankfully. Yes, the diabetes, hypertension /hypothyroidism/hypercholesterolemia diagnosis was a real shock for my poor friend 😱. Still l am so glad she went to get checked up , she could have had a stroke with her BP that high and she had no symptoms whatsoever!

Got to say @DirtyGertiefromno30 I really want nana pumpkin to have some pumpkin nail transfers 😆

Frugal25 · 10/06/2026 22:35

Ooohhhh what is buffalo feta and where from? I've never heard of it and it's Def missing from my life. Crisps are from potato. £1.50 on veg is very healthy.
Well done on application @RumBananaSundae. Proud of you. Sack off the union. Will happily swap cakes with you xx

Where do we post pumpkin stickers to? Po box is needed.

Fallen off again - this week has been work, prep for work and try to keep up in general, sleep, rinse, repeat. Early finish today and getting my nails done later so can't complain.

Annoyed with three of the latest Vinted purchases. A vintage shirt which is a really small fit, a pair of sandals which say UK 6 but more like an 8 and a missing parcel at the post office. I'll go to the PO tomorrow when the manager is in, as it's one of the POs in the back of a corner shop, then report it missing. The others I'll have to re-list. I just wish people would say if they were on the small or big size. Reminding self I've got a lovely dress, denim jacket and Kirsty Allsopp bedding as real bargains.
Yesterday was
£2.80 water from a vending machine at work - my water bottle is missing and I couldn't leave site.
£39.46 Lidl - need another shop today, yesterday was to stop DC saying "there's nothing in"!
£9.40 Starbucks. Met a friend for a catch up.
0.60p coop

Sorry will try to catch up, work is crazy this half term - roll on the summer!

Buffalo feta 😋 shall investigate. Made a lovely pomegranate and feta salad with cous cous earlier in the week for work lunches.

Good on the application @RumBananaSundae

Pumpkin stickers for Nana Pumpkin @DirtyGertiefromno30 🤭

Frugal25 · 11/06/2026 12:28

So disappointing when vinted isn't great. Sorry @Lockin26 your salad sounds amazing though. I'm upping my salads so I'll add this one into my meal plan

£93 in Lidl. It was a small shop so I added bits in for the store cupboard and treated myself to a magazine which I never do these days. So what was a small shop ended up being higher than normal.

Rest of day should be free. Swimming I paid for yesterday and gymnastics I pay for monthly.
Staying in rest of afternoon as weather is disgusting so we shall be playing and cleaning.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 11/06/2026 13:39

Afternoon everyone 😊
Been to Aldi for a food shop £89 🙄
Weather is atrocious here , heyho 13C and wet and windy like Autumn only wetter 🤣.
What a pain about the Vinted purchases @Lockin26. Hope the post office can find the parcel for you 🤞.
You've had some great bargains from there , the dress, denim jacket and Kirsty Allsopp bedding sound really lovely 😁. That pomegranate and feta salad sounds gorgeous 😋 too, l love Feta cheese it's so salty and creamy 😋😁. Enjoy your early finish and having your nails done 👏🤗
Your weather sounds just as bad as ours @Frugal25🙄. We are staying in and cleaning as well. Enjoy your magazine you deserve a little treat sweetheart 🤗
I looked up to see where the place in the UK had the least rain apparently it's Shoeburyness lucky ppl 😁

Spent £3.30 in Sainsbury’s. Milk and some odd bits. I seem to be going there much more than I used to.

I’m not sure @Frugal25. Bulgaria I think. It’s normal feta made with buffalo milk.

Should take a leaf out of your book @Lockin26 and list some things on Vinted.

Odd weather here today @DirtyGertiefromno30. I can’t believe that a week or so ago it was touching 38 and today I had blue fingers and toes and now have a blanket on the sofa.

Planning on watching the football later. I have put my wall chart up and have planned when dinner will be cheese and bread. I might even buy some cider.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 11/06/2026 19:41

Your evening sounds lovely @RumBananaSundae 😁 football on, wall chart up, cheese, bread and cider for dinner yummy 😋 🤤. Hope you have a fab night ⚽🧀🍺 ❤️
This weather is bonkers , we are all in jumpers here and got blankets over our knees 🤣😱. We're watching the opening ceremonies here. Mexico's was very good ,we enjoyed it , seemed like a great atmosphere lots of singing from the crowd and all joining in 😁
Looking forward to it 😁

Better news on the Vinted front, the post office found my parcel. The shopkeepers have good intentions but I have no confidence in them running a post office! Anyway it's a lovely Aztec print shirt and DD (15) said "trust me, keep that". DH asked me if I was "going hippy" pah what does he know! And it fits! I'll sell the other two misfitting items and buy something nice back. Not beaten on my intention to have a frugal, yet stylish wardrobe that I like wearing!

@RumBananaSundae perfect evening, enjoy!

That weather sounds awful @DirtyGertiefromno30 and @Frugal25 . I know what you mean it was 31 here a few weeks ago! Hopefully this weekend we'll get back on track for a summer!

Today was spendy
Lidl £55.84
Coop £6.09
Amazon £23.87

Also nails were £50 for hands and toes..
Air B&B took a payment for a weekend away in two weeks, £117 for the balance on a cottage we are renting.

Hope you're enjoying the football, if watching it. DD did her activity at the coast, I did my usual run along the sea front and then went to Lidl - both were satisfyingly quiet I suspect due to the match ⚽

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 12/06/2026 07:49

Morning everyone 😁
Off to see Mum in a bit , weather awful 🙄 as per . I had a gander at the M&S sale this morning and I bought an M&S apothecary set in the sale £24 from £60 for my cousin's birthday 😁.
@Lockin26 fab the found your Vinted parcel 👏. I'm with your DD , keep the shirt! If your DH is anything like mine he clearly knows nothing about fashion 😁

Frugal25 · 12/06/2026 14:08

Oh I love that you found your parcel and had a quiet run @Lockin26
Your evening sounds perfect @RumBananaSundae did you enjoy?
We have blankets back out here too. Cosy.
That gift set sounds beautiful for your cousin @DirtyGertiefromno30. How was your mum?

Well. I went out last night for mates birthday. Budgeted £80. Spent £40. So that's a win. Had a brilliant time.
Also. I had a strange number call me. Answered it as bored at work. Turns out my solicitor for when I sold my flat remembered I was due a refund. I had forgotten. They needed new bank details as I've recently switched banks. It's now in my account. £2700.
I pretty much cried on the phone and feel a bit sick and shaky. I'm going to wack all of it on my credit card which brings the balance to nearly £1k. And I can pay that off very easily. I'm nearly free ladies!! I can almost taste it. I am so relieved as the debt (albeit not big) was getting me down massively and beginning to worry me.
Hope everyone is ok. Xxx

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 12/06/2026 16:35

Afternoon everyone 😊
Weather is now beautiful and l can't believe it 👏😁!
Thank you for asking re my Mum she was good there today thank God 🙏🤗.
AHH @Frugal25sounds like you had a brilliant time with your friends 😁 and a £40 spend instead of £80 is brilliant ! £2,700 appearing like that though is fantastic and putting it on your card to nearly clear it, is a huge step forward , l am otm for you . Nearly free is such an uplifting feeling you’re so close now.😁👏 I am really happy for you sweetheart and l know everyone else will be too ❤️🤗

Lockin26 · 12/06/2026 18:53

OMG @Frugal25 that is such a lovely surprise and that you can nearly clear your cc - brilliant news!

That's a bargain in M&S @DirtyGertiefromno30

Boots £13.46, most of which was a travel gift set for my niece. She's off to see a concert in a few weeks and she is so generous and kind to DD who is 17 years younger than her, I wanted something to say thank you.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 12/06/2026 19:12

AHH @Lockin26thats so lovely of you to do that for your niece, what a kind girl to your DD she sounds bless her heart ❤️.
I was so pleased with the Apothecary set , it's lovely stuff 🤗
Hope you are feeling ok sweetheart have a lovely weekend and enjoy yourself 💐

That's bloody brilliant, so pleased for you x

Well tonight we are out out - obviously we're exhausted parents and will be back at the hotel for 1030 -if I had my way 830-

RumBananaSundae · 12/06/2026 19:26

No spending for me today. There was a £17 (I think) last night on some drugs

Glad your parcel has been found @Lockin26.

That’s a very good find in Marks and Spencer @DirtyGertiefromno30. I noticed the sale sign in the window but have stayed away.

A win yesterday on your evening out @Frugal25. Amazing news on the refund. That must be a relief for you. A rather grand surprise.

Not a good day. Thought I was going to be sick. Had a stupid document about the ‘cost cutting exercise’ at work. Management are just shmucks. Legal correspondence arrived too and I replied in haste. Looks like I will be going to court. On one hand OK at least things will be settled but I think time from filing to hearing is between six and 12 months. Great. And always on a Friday.

Frugal25 · 12/06/2026 19:35

Ah thank you everyone:)
Enjoy your night out @DeepFriedCreamEgg I'm always asleep by 10....
So glad your lovely mum is ok @DirtyGertiefromno30 what a lovely lady she is.
Oh your niece sounds beautiful @Lockin26 what a nice thing to do for her too.
You havent had a great day @RumBananaSundae and it sounds absolutely sucky. That's a long time to wait.... Let's hope for the 6 months. I hear you about management. They are useless at the best of times. If you fancy a glass of wine watching Gogglebox and a giggle you know where I am.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 12/06/2026 19:57

Have a great night out out @DeepFriedCreamEgg👏😁
AHH thank you @Frugal25 that's so kind of you ❤️. We had a great visit today. l was there nigh on 4 hours and only left when she went to sleep bless her. I knew everyone would be thrilled to bits for you sweetheart 👏🤗.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer person ❤️

Thank you @Frugal25 . I’m partying tonight. On the sofa with some milk with the football on.

Forgotten what a sucker I am for French accents. On men.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 12/06/2026 20:06

Oh blimey @RumBananaSundae, that's a lot for you to face in one day sweetheart. The £17 on meds doesn't count, it's a necessity, so I'd still call today a no spend day 😊
Sorry it's been such a rough one for you 💐. You feeling sick and work being ridiculous, legal letters arriving and all on a Friday so you have it hanging over you all weekend just stinks 😱.
I get the relief that things are moving forward, but it's really frustrating that it could take so many months to get to court and be heard . Try to chill out tonight l know it's easier said than done
Big hugs sweetheart 🤗 ❤️
