I asked last month if I would be entitled to the cost of living payment in October - the dates have just been released - if I got a payment on 21st august does this mean I will get the payment- I don't quite understand the statements . Sorry for being a bit thick ' •
To be eligible for the Cost of Living Payment from DWP, you need to have been entitled to a payment for a qualifying benefit between 18 August 2023 and 17 September 2023, or payment for an assessment period, ending between these dates. From HMRC, you need to have received a payment of tax credits for any day in the period between 18 August 2023 and 17 September 2023.

Ah well done the worm has turned !!! I've not had any notification of any kind so I don't think I will get it - ho hum! Very pleased for you though !!

Often the letter arrives after the payment so don't worry yet

Jasperdale · 28/10/2023 12:19

Has anyone else who is entitled not had a letter or a text? Beginning to think I won’t get it now as heard nothing

Mummapenguin20 · 28/10/2023 12:28

I had a text mil hasnt tho

Mjh17 · 28/10/2023 23:18

Is the payment showing up on anyone's online banking as an upcoming payment?

defi · 29/10/2023 21:20

My Monzo bank is showing I can I claim it early from 4pm. Otherwise will land Tues

Jasperdale · 29/10/2023 22:24

Like like I won’t get it then. Tax credits guy said I would as had a payment in qualifying period but as my tax credits have now stopped due to child turning 18 I guess I’m off the system.

Mjh17 · 30/10/2023 08:31

So you can claim it from 4pm today then?

ginandtonicwithlimes · 30/10/2023 08:44

It starts from tomorrow up until about the 19th of November. You can't claim it. If you are entitled you get it automatically.

BCSurvivor · 30/10/2023 11:29

Has anyone on tax credits only had a letter through the post yet about the £300 payment?

Jasperdale · 30/10/2023 12:34

I was on tax credits and have heard nothing

Lm2519 · 31/10/2023 09:20

Hello. Has anyone had theirs today?

BCSurvivor · 31/10/2023 12:01

I'm on tax credits so not expecting the payment till mid October, but I'm sure I had a letter last time before the payment and I haven't had one this year x

Lm2519 · 31/10/2023 13:42

Did you get the text message from DWP? @BCSurvivor I had one a generic text from them about it last week

BCSurvivor · 31/10/2023 13:44

@Lm2519 no, tax credits communication is via hmrc , not dwp, so I've never had a text from dwp, just a letter from hmrc x

Lm2519 · 31/10/2023 13:49

@BCSurvivor I see sorry I wasn’t aware of that!

Getoverit1965 · 31/10/2023 13:51

Lm2519 · 31/10/2023 09:20

Hello. Has anyone had theirs today?

I got my payment today

Lm2519 · 31/10/2023 14:00

@Getoverit1965 that’s great. I got the payment in April on the first day but this one hasn’t come in yet

Justme10 · 31/10/2023 14:03

I got mine today, was surprised as I don't usually get them on the first day.

Hannnah85 · 31/10/2023 15:51

Sorry new to all this but if my assessment period ended on the 18th august and the payment was on the 25th august will I get the payment please?

Decideforme · 31/10/2023 16:14

Yes, you should be @Hannnah85 .

Hannnah85 · 31/10/2023 16:15

Thankyou @Decideforme

JustCosy · 01/11/2023 08:21

My last payment for UC was on 19th August and 19th Sept. I closed my claim late September. Will I get it even though my claim has been closed? I had the text from DWP last week.

Decideforme · 01/11/2023 08:45

@JustCosy yes, you'll still get it.
