Tell me your tips. I've decided this winter I want to save as much as I can.

Any advice on how to keep going? I've already decided to limit social media so I dont get jealous if I see people doing things im not. There are things I've planned so my winter isn't without its fun. I just want to prioritise saving a much as I can this winter.

Anyone else doing the same and want to encourage each other?

Once the madness of Christmas is out of the way,I am really determined to have a no spend January and also crank up my side hustle earnings.I am looking forward to the new year already to start with a clean slate and good practices.

Anniebanany · 28/11/2022 19:07

I have been watching the YouTube videos about cash stuffing envelopes, budgeting and no spend days etc and I am going to really go for it come January.

I have used lots of tips and sites from the £10 a day thread. The best thing that I started doing this year was Ap**n,as I had never done anything like that before.I am really going to spend a lot more time and energy trying to increase my earnings as,I think doing a few projects has really boosted my confidence and I am keen to dive in further.

Anniebanany · 28/11/2022 19:18

Also, the No spend thread looks great, will definitely look now x

I have stopped all takeaways, cut down on driving by at least 50% and got my bike out of the garage, done a lot more cooking at home, stopped buying takeaway coffees, snacks out etc.Come Jan 1st,I am going to be a money saving machine 💪🤑💪

kateandme · 30/11/2022 03:53

I like the Aldi and Lidl all in one packs.theres nothing added but the fresh ingredients butvthey are really simple and tasty for that takeout feel.they do Currys,Indian, this.just all the ingredient ready to pan, then swish in the coating or sauce and done.the best is the stir fry one.that, in a bowl with some noodles.really good!

I have 99% given up alcohol in a bid to save money, you can really notice the difference from the shopping bill.

Squeezylemonsqueezy · 03/12/2022 16:24

I have been doing all the supermarket shopping in Lidl and Aldi and trying to avoid expensive top up shops at the local one-stop plus cutting out most little treats and much alcohol.

Sunshineandrainbow · 03/12/2022 18:41

Anyone seen any good offers on toilet roll.

Toadymalone · 03/12/2022 19:13

I have been buying the asda essentials toilet paper and tissues plus the cheapest toilet cleaner and baby wipes. They last well and are very good for the price.

I have a code for a free Simply Cook box if anyone is interested. You get 4 recipes for free and there's no obligation to order any more.
www.simplycook.com/invite/N6FYNV?t=cp&pg=ref&via=dt

We both get a free box if you use my code, and the recipes are great. We have been using them to replace expensive takeaways and been very impressed. The food is delicious and we've saved a big chunk from not ordering takeaway food on a fri or sat night.

Used your code x

PayPal credit card offering 20 quid for signing up. The money goes to your PayPal account, so you don’t need to just the CC to spend the 20. Took a few seconds to apply and get the money. I don’t use CCs, but was happy for the £20!

Well,i managed to get through the whole of yesterday without spending (apart from topping up school dinner account).Getting ready to do it all over again-just making up some ham salad sandwiches to take to work with me,so I'm not tempted to buy anything at luchtime😀

Ecclescaker · 13/12/2022 19:10

I have invested in some ceiling dryers for the washing, and have really noticed a difference.I don't use the radiators to dry washing, and when I put them on for a quick blast, you can really feel the heat almost instantly as there is no washing blocking the heat.

Ecclescaker · 13/12/2022 19:13

They are ceiling drying beams, and I really like them 😁

Lilyofthewally · 14/12/2022 18:04

I have been using airers to dry my clothes plus using the slow cooker around 3 times a week.I have been trying to up my income too,the £10 a day threads really are great for ideas and helpful tips if people haven't seen the threads yet.

Laalaapopo · 14/12/2022 18:46

I took sandwiches into work, didn't spend any money at all and am now resisting any online shopping so will go to bed having spent £0 🙃
