Thought we could share what is good and what isn't to avoid others wasting money!
So far I have tried...

Fishcakes - not great
Salted peanuts - wayyyy to salted.
crisp - quite nice
tiny potato balls - very nice
Fishfingers - edible
Garlic baguette - nice

Anything you would or wouldn't recommend?

You can freeze cheese ? No way!

Yes if you grate it. Game changer for me too

userxx · 22/11/2022 22:47

Brilliant! I've just bought a new cheese grater so I'll be trying that out.

Jesus, how middle aged did that sound 😞

The sausages are horrendous!

If you think that's middle aged.... I've got a new heater on my Amazon wish list for Christmas 😂😂

OnTheRunWithMannyMontana · 22/11/2022 22:52

Must learn to proof read.

Bumping this thread as we all like to save money 👍

We are still trying new things from this range most weeks. We are really liking the fishcakes at the moment they are great and £1.29 for 2.

Decafflatteplease · 17/01/2023 10:23

Also the cashew nuts are great for 73p! Bit smaller than our usual m and s and a bit broken but absolutely fine for a cheap snack!

Daffodilis · 17/01/2023 10:39

Soap powder leaves a residue
Chicken breasts are pumped full of water
Mince fatty
Squash tastes chemically
Tomatoes bland
Sausage rolls are grim
Jam is basically sugar
Beans ok
Grapes good
Peppers OK
Garlic baguettes are OK
Rice is rice
Sausages are mostly filler
Pasta OK
Bacon shrinks to nothing

I did try

Thought of another one...big bag of "cooking peppers" so peppers clearly, for around £1.30 there was about 6-7. Had to search to find ones with only one green as we don't like green but they are far better value than the 3 pack peppers.

Also tried the blueberries today they are absolutely fine, just smaller than regular ones.

33p milk chocolate lovely for a treat

Ha! What you need is somebody you know who only loves the green ones! I don't like red, am forever searching for only green ones. Grin

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but the 90p frozen lasagne isn't bad. I quite enjoyed it.

My son got one, it looked very sloppy

The cheese!

SmuggleWuggle · 20/01/2023 22:27

Chicken wings from the fridge are £2.03 for a bag of just over a kilo - had them the other night just tossed in a bottle of BBQ sauce from Marks (£1.95), 30 mins in oven - with homemade coleslaw, corn on the cob and fries. Kids all ate it which makes a change. Cheap and tasty meal - usual amount of meat that you would expect on the wings but very tender.

30not13 · 21/01/2023 11:56

20p cola, really surprised it was lovely. On its own or as a mixer.

Tried the loo roll. No. Compared to tescos cheapest it was rough, and just felt really bad quality.

PuttingDownRoots · 21/01/2023 12:01

Tin of spaghetti hoops. DH says no noticeable difference to heinz. No complaints from DD either. 16p a tin!

Considering giving the beans a try... weve down branded from heinze to asda own brand.

PuttingDownRoots · 21/01/2023 12:02
