@ThisisCollie2022 go for it! I work at a college and will be doing mine in FE, it'd a lot of work and you have to be organised but I really enjoy it! I am 46 next and thought you know what, I'm going to go for it! So should you 🙌😀

ThisisCollie2022 · 16/09/2022 19:02

@Fearofawelshplanet thank you! Mine would be FE too! I'm really keen!!

Fearofawelshplanet · 16/09/2022 19:05

Fingers crossed for you Gen qnd congrats North! 🤗

kessiebird · 16/09/2022 19:24

That's lovely news North and also great you had a good holiday.

Quite a few Zoflora fans. I hunt around in the bargain shops for it at a cheap price, it had gone up on Amazon! Came back from dropping DS at work and DH had blitzed his room with Rhubarb and Casis (sp). So much better.

Gen everything crossed for the biopsy results* *

I'm impressed with that planning skies!

Time hope you have a better night.

My ears are still feeling full and popping. Friend has recommended a private Microsuction Ear Wax removal. £80. I'm hoping they will clear up on their own 😊

Yes I agree that's expensive weight everything is creeping up.

Enjoy the pamper collie. I noticed my roots today (quite a bright copper but officially grey) - not sure I can hang in until payday for hair colour!

£23 food shop. Trying to hang on and use up odds and ends until Sunday when I will consider a top shop. Toasties with the Lidl free bread and homemade banana and choc chip loaf. Pay day Thursday!!

Timetoswitch · 16/09/2022 20:44

Great news north! Best news of the week x

Bornlazy · 16/09/2022 20:47

north I am delighted to hear your news. What a relief for you. You must feel like a great weight's been lifted.

Gen I hope your tongue is feeling better soon. That must feel very strange. Fingers crossed you get your results soon and that everything is ok. Also re your MIL and the care she is receiving, my advice would always be to complain if your not happy. I have had various close relatives in hospital that have had substandard care and I always approach the staff if I think the care isn't up to scratch. I don't complain unnecessarily and I do let some things slide but unfortunately sometimes you need to push for better care (I am a nurse and I would never mind somebody complaining about genuine failings)

Collie congratulations on your new venture. Hope it's a big success.

Need I did that last week with a Tesco order that I'd reserved with 2 litres of vodka ( also a staple item 😜) I was so annoyed with myself 😬

I love some Zofloras but I am funny with smells and get terrible headaches and nausea with some as I discovered after I'd cleaned my whole house with one of the stronger smelling ones...

It's a five week month for me so need to try and stay on track. Lunch with a friend today £13. £18 in M&S on mostly fruit. I'm trying to improve my diet and find I eat M&S fruit more than other supermarkets so it ends up better value.

ThisisCollie2022 · 16/09/2022 20:50

Thank you 😊

I just updated my shop and its now at £65 but I've included gin and chocolates...

BigSkies2022 · 16/09/2022 21:48

Quick one just to say, great news, north.

Taytocrisps · 16/09/2022 22:04

Thanks for the new thread Wolf.

Hope everyone is keeping well. I'm so glad it's Friday! There's a lot going on at work and there's a strange atmosphere. Lots of unhappy people.

DD starts college properly next week. She got her timetable. She'll be in college three days, she needs to organize work experience for one day and then will have one day free for assignments and study etc. I'll have to factor in packed lunch stuff for her again. She's reducing her shifts at work to weekends only.

I think I mentioned already that DD left her hair straightener plugged in on the dining table and left two lovely burn marks on the table. I ordered a new table runner from Next and it arrived today. Looks a lot better. I also ordered a new cutlery tray for sorting my knives, forks, spoons etc. The old one was a horrible mustard colour and was second hand about 20 years ago.

I've guests coming next weekend and I'm trying to smarten the house up in small, inexpensive ways. Wish I had the money to buy new furniture and floors but what can you do? The mortgage and bills have to come first.

I'm also keeping a close eye on the news here for hints about the budget (27th September). An article during the week suggested energy credits for households totalling €600. I don't know if that means €200 credit x 3 or €300 credit x 2. I guess I'll just have to be patient.

It was quite chilly here this morning. Cold in the office also - I read that they're reducing the temperature in offices to save energy.

I wonder if we're heading into a really difficult winter but then things will settle down in 2023? Or if this is just something we will have to live with for the next few years? I guess a lot depends on what happens in Ukraine. And I feel bad for complaining - higher bills are really difficult but pale into comparison compared to what the Ukrainian people are enduring. Very grim news about the mass grave they discovered.

north that's brilliant news! I'm so pleased for you.

Fingers crossed for you Gen

Any sign of Mrs? I haven't been on the thread much this week.

Theskyoutsideisblue · 17/09/2022 06:30

Wolfcub · 17/09/2022 07:51

Spendy last couple of days doing some hobby type event. Need to crack on with my uni work this weekend when I'm not ferrying ds around and clear sitting room of stuff (though there is nowhere for it to go) before contractors come next week. Walk this morning on the moors first

Hi all thanks for the new thread wolf

I've been quiet for a few days as lots going on with my suspected cancer mass, am waiting for the op now. I keep crying 😭
Needless to say it's been a spendy few weeks new pyjamas eye mask etc for hospital

Anyway enough of me

north how amazing congratulations 💕

gen hope you recover well.

I'm off on a much needed day out today with my church, free but we need to buy / take lunch. We are going to a cafe at the cathedral where it is which will be nice but not very frugal.

Have a lovely weekend all

Gensola · 17/09/2022 08:22

Thanks life

tayto I think mrs is taking a MN break. mrs if you are reading, sending lots of love ❤️

had a bad night so comforted myself by spending my Vinted balance 😂 got two jumpers, a shirt, a skirt and a jacket for £40 credit i built by selling stuff.

needastrongoneagain · 17/09/2022 08:29

Morning.

How's the tongue gen? I've just favourited some stuff on Vinted, couple of work skirts and coats, jumpers etc. Must list some things too.

Decaff, so sorry to hear this. It must be a horrible time. Thinking of you and sending good thoughts. Enjoy the visit today.

Hope the dryer okay life

Quiet day today but had friends over last night and we drank fizz and had pizza for DS's birthday.

My heating kicked in this morning for the first time! I didn't think it was cold enough so I've turned it down, it was set at 19, but it feel warmer than that.

We've so much food in, after my double shop, leftover pizza, allotment goods from Dsil and a TGTG bag, so hopefully I'll get to payday with very minimal outgoings,

Have a great day all, this autumn weather is lovely I must admit.

Gensola · 17/09/2022 08:32

need it’s still numb 😑trying not to panic

northender · 17/09/2022 08:40

Decaff I've messaged you 🤗
After a lovely week away it's so good to be back in my own bed! Probably need to shop today as I can't imagine dd will have done it. Garden definitely needs work, so I'll be supervising dh 😂

ThisisCollie2022 · 17/09/2022 09:25

Oh no decaff. This must be awful for you. Enjoy your day out. I love cathedrals! They're my favourite buildings. The one nearest me wasn't built straight and every time I walk down the aisles I notice more and more quirky architectural wonks.

We do Yoga in ours! And silent discos. 😍

north you've reminded me that our garden needs a mow!

I'm going to try and walk 12000 steps today and tomorrow as I've been lazy lately and my back & hips can feel it!

Gensola · 17/09/2022 09:27

decaff just saw your update. Sending lots of love - hope your operation goes okay.

CurlsandCurves · 17/09/2022 09:48

@Decafflatteplease so sorry to hear your news, hope the op comes round quickly and goes well

@northender grest news, you must be so relieved

@Gensola hope the numbness is going away

Not much to report here. Been doing some extra work for my dads business this month so that’s an additional payday for me. Our current mortgage deal finishes in a couple of months and I’m planning on using the extra money to start making overpayments. We’ve not got a lot left on it and I want it gone!

ememem84 · 17/09/2022 10:05

@Decafflatteplease just seen your post. Take care of yourself lovely xx

ancientgran · 17/09/2022 10:17

Great news northender. Gensola I don't know what your operation was but hopefully all will come right, my DD had jaw surgery and once the pain stopped she had numbness but it did come right in the end, she was warned in advance it could happen.

LoveToWearADress · 17/09/2022 10:40

Oh damn posted a long post on the old thread 🤦🏻‍♀️

Anyway.

Could people please recommend the sites they've had the most luck with selling: clothes & sports items.

Just decommissioned the spare fridge.

Spendy weekend coming up in a hotel to see my son.
