mrs gutted I got married last year or I’d be wearing that!!

SingToTheSky · 25/07/2021 21:54

Mrs :o

Spendy couple of days here. London yesterday and booked cinema tickets today - couldn’t believe the price of £20 each but turns out it’s just because it’s in the fancy screen. Other films will be fine so hopefully we can see the Croods 2 during summer and DH will take DS to Black Widow.

Also looked at some textbooks etc for DS for next year. Bye bye money! 😬

ememem84 · 25/07/2021 21:59

mrs hey! That’s my wedding dress…..

ememem84 · 25/07/2021 22:02

So. Tonight dd has had a bath (with lavender oil in it), washed her hair and dried it, we had warm milk instead of cold in her room instead of downstairs. We read some books. I put snuffle babe on her because she does have a bit of a cough. Bed is propped up at one end. She is neither too hot nor too cold. Not too many toys in her bed. But still some there for comfort. Blackout blind is up. Landing light off. Door pulled to.she has long jammies on not shorties (in case she kicks her duvet off and gets cold).

The only things I can’t control are:

Ds waking up
Seagulls
Cat face going in and meowing.
Noisy outside her window.

Mrsmadevans · 25/07/2021 22:36

Em very fetching Grin

Sing have a lovely time Smile

MeadowHay · 25/07/2021 22:44

NSD today.

Does she have a dummy Em? I do think that's probably one of the main reasons DD is a pretty good sleeper tbh. Also I don't know whether your DD needs silence to sleep but mine has this thing attached to her bed with a button and when you press it it plays lullaby music that gradually decreased in volume for about 20/30 minutes until it finishes. We've been using it since she was a tiny baby and as she got bigger she started to turn it on herself if she woke in the night and it settles her back to sleep. Not sure if something like that might be helpful if you haven't already tried? (apologies if you have! Definitely not trying to make out like am some kind of sleep expert think DD just takes after DH and is a decent sleeper unlike me who is horrendous!).

So glad the weather has cooled down a bit. 23 degrees today which is just nice for me.

ememem84 · 26/07/2021 00:52

She does have a dummy meadow I don’t know how we’d cope without them! I was so naive before I had ds and said that no kid of mine would have a dummy…!

She woke up. And I’ve settled her back to sleep. Just waiting for her to doze off now

ememem84 · 26/07/2021 07:20

Dd ended up in our bed. DH slept on the floor in her room. Because he’s stubborn and was a bit of a shouty last night. Completely uncalled for. No point screaming and shouting at dd when she was starting to settle herself. This obviously didn’t have the desired effect and she just got more upset.

Apparently DH did it because his legs are hurting him, he has self diagnosed tendinitis (obviously) and is exhausted and never gets to rest. Told him not to be so pathetic

He’s off work this week. He’s chilling apparently. I’m also ruining his week off because he has to drive me to acupuncture this morning (and the kids to doarents - accupubcture is on the way) and then pick me up so I can come back to work.

Tomorrow we are seeing the kitchen designer at lunchtime so that’s obviously me controlling dhs time off….

He’s being v precious.

Happierwithouthim · 26/07/2021 07:39

Oh em this isn't good.
Usually it's his back when you ask him to pull up his socks regarding parenting. And dc are going to your parents even though he's off for the week? Alarm bells but I'm probably over sensitive because of my own situation

I slept in ds's bed last night, because my bedclothes are on clothesline & were a little damp with dew last night.

ememem84 · 26/07/2021 08:07

Yep. It is usually his back. It’s ridiculous.
And yes the kids are going to dparents. They’re ok with it though because DH has a busy life so needs time to himself (wouldn’t be saying that if it was me…)

He’s still pissed off. Apparently it’s somehow my fault that dd cries at night time. Not sure how. But whatever. He’s reluctantly driving us now. Because I said I didn’t have time to go to doarents then to accupubcture. So if he didn’t he’d have to stay home with the kids until I came home.

Bets on his being late to pick me up so I’m even later starting work?

Wolfcub · 26/07/2021 08:13

Em I'm going to say it but you need a second car. Even just a tiny runaround that isn't necessarily big enough for kids. Dh is being a total knobhead and your parents are enabling him which does not help. I think I'd suggest he get a medical to make sure there's no underlying cause for all his ailments and maybe some counselling to stop being a knobhead.

Ds is on one this morning. Having been up all night, which he denies, we've had shouting, screaming and trying to punch a panel out of one of the doors. I haven't the heart to check it for damage yet. I hate taking time off, it's like this every sodding time and it's never relaxing.

Need to go to post office to return df's birthday present(!) and post stupid dvla form, then uniform shopping which I'm sure in ds's mood is going to be delightful.

Kill me! Kill me now!

ememem84 · 26/07/2021 08:17

wolf I agree. He’s always been against a second car. Citing we don’t even need one. But we do. When I go out without him and the kids he says I “trap” him at home. I hog our car because I need it on a Friday when I don’t work.

Also re medical. Yep. Agree. He’s stressed and I’d say depressed too. I’m off to accupubcture today because I need a quick release on my neck and wrist and it helps calm me down.

The osteo I’ve been seeing thinks wrist pain could be early signs of carpal tunnel. So I need to make an apt with my gp to investigate this. That’s another job for today. Make appointment.

SingToTheSky · 26/07/2021 08:38

Wolf sorry you’ve had such a bad morning with DS. Any chance uniform shopping could be postponed 😩

Em 🤬🤬🤬 at DH, wtf. Second car a good shout. I really hope his mood and effort improve today 💐

Wolfcub · 26/07/2021 08:55

Sing unfortunately not. It's appointment only and we've been advised to buy now as covid and brexit have caused supply problems

Wolfcub · 26/07/2021 09:23

£125 just for things to wear on the top half ConfusedConfusedConfused

SingToTheSky · 26/07/2021 09:41

Oh no wolf 😭 uniform is horrendously expensive isn’t it especially in secondary. DD1 barely even wore her new blazer this year (she had a second hand one when she joined one term before covid) or her skirt - hope they still fit 🙄 they have to go in PE stuff if they have a practical lesson that day, and she does sports studies and dance as well as the mandatory PE. You’ve reminded me wolf that we had an email saying everything needs to be ordered by 31st for the same reason, must get on and actually see what she needs. New dance uniform I think and will get DS a new scout shirt too (then I might finally bother sewing his badges on 😳) as it’s all the same shop.

daintydaisies · 26/07/2021 11:01

@ememem84 that sounds horrid, sorry you’re going through that right now. DH sounds like he needs a kick up the arse. Hope today is a better day for you all! Flowers

Is it weird that I'm excited for my first mortgage payment to come out?
