Btw this is the kind of shite I talk to my team at work in case anyone wonders what our keeping in touch will be like Grin

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 16/03/2020 20:31

Can't believe how quickly things are escalating re CV am think Les Mis and our Easter caravan hol might not happen now 😥 at Easter.

I WFH today and will again tomorrow, there's some talk that I may be redeployed to another area 🙁

My mum is also panicking about getting it, just watched ch4 news and they showed the inside on an Italian hospital which was really scary.

LaneBoy · 16/03/2020 20:32

Sounds great to me life :o

Libraries closed, next weekend’s dance show cancelled, scouts off, one of my two courses postponed. All happening very quickly!

Unescorted · 16/03/2020 20:38

Life I think it is that type of random chat that I will miss while Wfh. What others are you missing?

Wolf thanks - that is how I read it, but I started doubting myself.

Lane I am going to miss the library, although randomly I have books on piping icing & cake decorations.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 16/03/2020 20:58

Just got in from Sainsbury’s . Not much there but managed to get things to see us through to the weekend. No chicken, no bread so settled for pizzas for an easy dinner tomorow. Wraps instead of bread and hot cross buns. They had ice cream so DP happy.
Cat most disconsolate tonight, wandering around and miaowing mournfully. She seems well in herself and is eating well. Whenever I have my Mum on speakerphone it seems to puzzle her. Mum stayed with us from October to January so we could look after her after her knee replacement and she and Puss became friends so maybe that’s it.

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/03/2020 20:59

Council have closed library, museum and leisure centre here. We cancelled scouts this afternoon already though TSA have just put a note out I see.
Our major scout fundraiser is 12 weeks on Saturday. Eeek

I will miss my greggs breakfast and gym class.

I'm already resigned to Easter being cancelled.

northender · 16/03/2020 22:02

Life we've postponed one fundraiser already at the cricket club & it looks like our annual beer festival will be off, but the first half of the season is going to be cancelled anyway. How ds will cope without it, I have no idea!
Wolf I've messaged you.
I saw a comment on facebook earlier from a teacher who was querying the logic of not being able to go to the pub or out for a meal, but it being fine for her to be indoors with 500 kids every day at work. It does seem odd.
Really unsettling times. There are rumours about A levels being delayed until September which actually might level the playing field a bit for ds, but nothing certain.

ememem84 · 16/03/2020 22:33

Oooh the a-z’s

I have a load on my desk at work all neatly hidden underneath the proper nato phonetic one.

Sweaty words animals food

I’m up for a whatssap chat

ememem84 · 16/03/2020 22:36

Fb group or something

I’ve found out I’m in work this week. Off next. In the next. And so on and so on until this all blows over.

We’re debating sending Dd to nursery tomorrow. In herself she’s fine. Eating drinking etc. Happiest little girl. But the cough. The barking cough. No tempterature. But she’s snotty. Dh can stay with her so will see how tonight goes.

SnugglySnerd · 16/03/2020 22:53

Pleased you are feeling better Girlie.
I have a Tesco slot booked tomorrow. Let's hope it doesn't get cancelled.
Work was fairly normal today. Kids and staff present and correct as normal, I don't think our attendance was affected today. I was pleased to be there as it was normal and busy.
I'd be up for some chat/messaging too.

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2020 06:06

Morning everyone 😀
Glad you are feeling betterGirlie 💐
I couldn't sleep 🙄
Up to make a cuppa at 4 . DH sniffing and chomping on a malted milk 🙄
Big mistake to give him a biscuit by the side of me .
Hope everyone is ok. It's the not knowing that is so bad.

No spending for me today but l suppose that is the least of out worries really
Take care everyone 🤗

ememem84 · 17/03/2020 06:09

Dd just woke up. 👍🏻 But full of cough and snot. So I don’t think she’s going in to nursery they’re being very vigilant re illness now (more so than usual) so she’ll just get sent home probably so not worth the trip.

This however means than I’m getting the bus this morning with ds. Wahoo.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/03/2020 06:32

Morning, first day WFH. Must not get distracted...

Em hope dd picks up soon.

Have spent about 14 hours in a queue on Ocado and still no nearer the front of it - my parents and dgm need some bits of shopping and the shops are empty

ChristmasSeacow · 17/03/2020 08:04

I thought I’d get a seat on the tube today but no, it’s still noses in armpits 😷

LaneBoy · 17/03/2020 08:20

That’s crazy sea it’s bizarre how normal life seems to be carrying on in places. And so many seem unaware or aggressively in denial. I overheard someone saying “IT’S ALL A LOAD OF SHITE” yesterday, it was funny but also not! I keep thinking what it’ll be like for students studying modern history in 50 years, looking back on this pandemic and trying to make sense of how the world handled it.

Hope DD is better soon em Cagletini is not allowed back for the week, she’s snotty, fair enough.

I’m trying to just enjoy the slowing down and quietness of life really. But that’s easy for me to say when I wasn’t working of course. It’s awful seeing businesses suffer already and it’s only going to get worse.

I don’t have any of you on FB, what’s the best way to do that? PM one person who can add everyone to a group chat?

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/03/2020 08:37

Em Grin

LaneBoy · 17/03/2020 09:43

Cancelled my tattoo appt. I am fine but DS is unwell and I just think even with masks and gloves it’s still very close quarters for a prolonged period and I don’t want to risk it for her sake or mine

Mrsmadevans · 17/03/2020 09:49

Cancelled my dental appointment 😣. As l walked in full waiting room. A woman started coughing l was out of there. Poor receptionist was frantic. I felt so sorry for her.

Accidentalaccountant · 17/03/2020 11:17

Just awaiting evacuation out of Japan. Hold on tight all. X

Loving your plans to keep in touch dc were at their dads last night au pair at a friends & I've no phone or internet reception in the house, it's lonesome. Today I've not got the dc until 6pm & can't even call to visit anyone.

Have got out to a nearby seaside town for a long walk, didn't bring purse because #socialdistance

Myself & work colleague are using internal lines to keep up the daily chit chat Grin

Bank holiday here for st Patrick's day weird to be alone for it , used my my new micro fibre flat mop to clean house downstairs with dettol floor wash, will do upstairs when I get home. Why did no one tell me how much better they are than regular mops? Saw my friend using one two weeks ago & her tiles were shining & thought worth a shot Grin

Will start TOMM method from tomorrow onwards.

Em that image is designed for me I work in a quarry Grin outing??

Just typed a message and lost it 😬 so take 2...

I haven’t been on in a while for various reasons but thought I’d check back in. My MIL died and we had her funeral just before all this madness took off which I am so grateful for as things in hospitals are so stretched and strict at the moment.

Unfortunately I am having to self isolate at the moment as I have a cough and sore throat. I’m pretty sure it’s not Coronavirus as I’ve no high temperature but being a nurse I can’t take any chances. It’s just so frustrating that so few people are being tested as knowing if you’ve had it would be invaluable in a health care setting. Both ds and dh are isolating too which will do all our heads in. I actually sometimes have to pinch myself as I feel like this can’t be real and we will all wake up from this terrible nightmare.

Accidental hope you get home safe soon.

Unescorted · 17/03/2020 14:11

Afternoon...…
I am bored of working from home. With everyone wfh the number of emails has dwindled. I Am going to give it another hour and then I will clean the bathroom.

My brother is panicking for the whole family. He turned up before 9, having been to 2 supermarkets with 2 bags of random shopping - we don't need anything b/c I did the monthly shop before the panic buying kicked in.
