Been to shop. Bought leg of lamb. Hair dye. And alcohol. And crisps. All the essentials.

ememem84 · 09/04/2020 12:51

I also need to knock off work at 4 so dh can “go out” (virtual pub quiz for his work). But so far he’s taking ages making lunch so I’m sitting playing with the kids. Which is great. But I’ve been here for ages and need to get some work done!

Afternoon everyone Smile
Have sad news poor Pidgy has just died, he was absolutely fine , walking about , eating drinking , poohing , preening and then he made the most awful noise coughed up this load of blood and died, we were getting fond of him too , l suppose at least he wasn't in any pain and we didn't leave him for a cat to mangle Sad
Have bought Dd1 , The Song from Somewhere Else & Dd2 Warren Gatlands Pride and Passion to go in their Easter bags WITH Choc eggs and Bunny socks Smile so £9.17 spend in all.
Hope everyone is ok, beautiful weather here Smile

ememem84 · 09/04/2020 16:49

Email from work - let us know how you’re getting on working from home. Any frustrations?

Replied with exactly how I’m getting on. The brutal truth...

Nicked off at 330. Am now drinking wine in the garden nd playing with kinetic sand woth ds and Dd.

Making hot cross buns for tomorrow.

Wolfcub · 09/04/2020 17:21

Work finished. Beer opened. There has been a real outbreak of workplace twattery this week which has been hard to deAl with. There have been outbreaks of massively inappropriate behaviour, nastiness and plus everyone is clearly feeling very flat too which is not helping. It has been hard. There have nearly been tears a few time's. I've written 80% of a job application for something totally different just out of frustration, still trying to decide whether to submit or not. May work on it Saturday.

Supposed to be "meeting" friends tonight but I'm massively not in the mood.

Tayto it's so satisfying cleaning out the drawer-o-doom

LaneBoy · 09/04/2020 18:11

Submit it wolf - you can still change your mind at any point. Sorry it’s been shit. 💐

Glad you were honest em 💐

I finally submitted an amazon order of a few random bits. Done some decluttering today as well as catching the sun a lot. I tan very easily, this may be a mistake 😬

Unescorted · 09/04/2020 18:27

MrsM sorry to hear about Pidgy. I think you are right and he didn't suffer.

Wolf and proposes a toast to weekends. I think a lot of people are finding it all really difficult. We went into wfh mode a week before the LOCK!down. and last week there was a lot of arseyness between colleagues. I was feeling really blergh and taking offence at sideways looks. Maybe there is something about the 2 week mark. Although our employer is a lot better than every other organisation I have heard about. Corporately they seem to understand the stresses we are going through and make it easy for us to take moments out.

My icing kit arrived today.... me and both kids are going to have sticky fun with that tomorrow. Still haven't managed to find muffin wrappers. We will fashion some from squares of paper or just make a big cake...

Mrsmadevans · 09/04/2020 18:39

Thank you Unescorted l like to think he was ok until the end Sad
So sorry to hear you have work woes, it's really awful for everyone an dl can't imagine having to work in this climate l really can't , Flowers
My BFF has MH issues and has given in and gone to the GP she has a note for 3 weeks. She works in an Endoscopy suite normally , had cancer 10 years ago, is left with lympodema because sh ehad the lymph glands taken out and is so upset and anxious. They have allowed some of the staff to work from home and others are expected like my BFF to go and work on the wards. She was absolutely terrible. Crying to me and saying she would die . I can't see she would have been any use to patients or her fellow nurses. I felt so sorry for her and all the nurses they must be so frightened Sad

maddenlightfoot · 09/04/2020 18:44

Agree that it's vital to find ways to demarcate the weekends right now otherwise everything just becomes a work/school blur. Beer has been drunk in the sun here too! Our garden backs on to a very busy/noisy park and it's been bliss sitting in the garden in peace rather than listening to 3 basketball games, 100s of kids on the equipment and 2 speakers with competing music!

Im hyper aware atm of all of the spends id be incurring just popping to the shop. Eg yesterday we all got roasting hot on our daily walk and would have loved to have popped somewhere to grab some ice creams. And last night we had JPs with beans and I rationed the cheese as knew we needed some for burgers tonight, usually I'd have just thought to pick up a new block the next day. We've also made cards for Easter and a couple of birthdays (luckily already had stamps).

SnugglySnerd · 09/04/2020 19:46

I've found the same Madden although I felt really sad we couldn't nip out for ice creams today. If there was room in the freezer I'd have lollies for the dcs.

Unescorted · 09/04/2020 19:53

I am over work woes thankfully - although they may come back. I cannot imagine how scary that is for your friend.

Madden that sounds like a #CoronoSilverLining.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/04/2020 20:09

Ah poor pidgy.

Do it wolf, nothing to lose and your can always withdraw.

Work has been ok but yy to everyone a bit flat.

£3.39 on carrots (needed) snacks not needed.
Feel like gone backwards. Tight chest and a bit of a cough. Temp 37. Day 10 now.

Mrsmadevans · 09/04/2020 20:47

We are ten from the end. Life I agree rest as much as you can

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 09/04/2020 22:19

Life, take it easy. When I was coughing lots and spoke to my doctor, they said try to avoid laying on my back at night. Might help you?
Wolf apply for the job, you never know it could be exactly what you need?
Aww Mrs poor pidgy.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 10/04/2020 12:03

Morning everyone, another beautiful day here ☀️

Have been out in the garden doing some gardening in my pjs 😁 have put some sweet peas out, hoping it's not too early?

Not much planned today (!) need to pop into work to print a load of stuff off for my uni course, plan to get a fair bit done in my week off.

Mrsmadevans · 10/04/2020 15:27

Afternon everyone
Got up early to go and collect the order from Asda @ 8am , click and collect, lots of stuff missing but it was better than queuing , there were what must have been at least 100 ppl waiting outside and a homeless man begging going up and down the lines doing his best to be a super spreader, not keeping socially distant at all hmm. I made Dh get back in the car, lock the doors, wind the windows up & lock the car up hmm, l am not being nasty but it really was not the time or the place to be dealing with him like that , l could feel my anxiety rising & l was in the car! hmm.
The rapeseed is in the fields and l have been feeling quite peculiar, convinced l have CV19 hmm throaty, tired, sneezy, sleepy in fact just recite the 7 dwarves and that is me today Grin
Bob's cat was dying yesterday , vomming & sleeping about the place and today chasing Voles hmm
Been to see to Mum & Bob , done a ton of washing and stuff for them, Mum rang me yesterday morning, 'Bob and l would like a salad today , so just a few salad items, some roast pork from the Delicatessen not plastic pork you bought last time, couple of eggs , l can't get eggs for love nor money here hmm
l have told her that we are only getting shopping from deliveries/click & collect to save them because we are their source of infection Grin
All the baking l did on Weds has gone , Mum & Bob had a cake and a b& b pud but the rest of it DH demolished with a cuppa just now grin Doesn't last long with him here !
Beautiful day here hope everyone is enjoying the good weather
Take care Smile

Mrsmadevans · 10/04/2020 15:28

Mrsmadevans · 10/04/2020 15:29

I did mange to get some eggs from my Mum's neighbours , they were their own chickens so lovely and fresh Smile

Mrsmadevans · 10/04/2020 15:30

No explanation for poor Pidgy but on looking it seems it is quite usual for Pidgys to not fare well when they are injured Sad

Mrsmadevans · 10/04/2020 15:31

DD2 & Dh are snoring their heads off and driving me insane , the only thing keeping me happy is pourin gout my drivel on here so bear with me Grin

Mrsmadevans · 10/04/2020 15:33

Nearly done Grin

Mrsmadevans · 10/04/2020 15:33
