Unescorted try silicone muffin cases there should be some on amazon

Bornlazy · 04/04/2020 11:03

Morning everyone. I still feel knackered from this virus even though it’s 3 weeks today since I took unwell. I need a couple of things from the shop so might try and do that as I can feel myself becoming almost frightened to go out. Not because of the fear of catching anything but because of all the new rules and regulations. I’m overthinking it all. I’m sure once I’m back in the thick of things at work it will be the least of my worries.

Girlie that’s a shame if you have to go back to DN. PPE is a real worry and I know the government keeps saying that there is plenty of it but I think they are vastly underestimating just how much of it we will go through. They also keep changing what PPE is needed and I think most nurses feel like we don’t have enough and what we have is not adequate.

The fear I have is that I will be sent to work in ICU where I will be terrified that I will be completely out of my depth. It’s such a stressful time to be a nurse right now.

Anyway no point in worrying about what might or might not be. I will watch some more crap on Netflix whilst mentally preparing for the family Zoom night which is supposed to be tonight 🙈

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 04/04/2020 11:07

Did someone on this thread mention you can play mono poly on line from different homes? Thinking this would be a good thing for dd and my mum to do. If anyone has a link that would be great.

Born it really is 😕 if I get sent to acute I don't know what I'll do.

Unescorted · 04/04/2020 12:09

Wolf - I went down the rabbit hole of muffin cases. Who knew there was such diversity of cake wrappers.

There are a lot of people here who work in the health service on here & I know I can be really flippant about the Hairshirt enforcement of The Rooolz (not the actual guidelines of social distancing), but you guys are properly brave. I can't imagine what it is like knowing that you could be deployed into high risk environments. Thank you ( I am going to skip the FB enforced clapping if that is OK).

ChristmasSeacow · 04/04/2020 12:12

Afternoon all. Slowish start here today, I’ve been unpacking the Ocado shop and trying to wipe everything. I’m so bored now that I wish I hadn’t started and just taken my chances!

Unescorted in your cinnamon roll recipe, what is ‘dry milk’ - milk powder? I don’t have any of that, might have to do my other recipe and try this one another time.

My back is pretty sore today, I’m not sure whether kneading dough will help or not! Garden later...

Unescorted · 04/04/2020 12:14

yeah - milk powder. You can use milk instead of water & it is a good sub.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/04/2020 12:26

Hear hear unescorted

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/04/2020 13:34

Yeah got a c&c Sainsbury's slot. Now pray to the god of baking I can get flour

Yogawoogie · 04/04/2020 13:38

Day off! I’m missing my babies but keeping busy.
I have managed to get dc birthday presents for in a few weeks time. Fingers crossed they arrive on time. It’s going to hurt so much to not see them or be able to hug them on their birthday. I think DD is struggling. Sad

I’m getting the bread maker out later. I love the smell more than anything!

northender · 04/04/2020 13:43

girlie it was me. There is a Monopoly app which costs about £5. Great fun was had here last Saturday and it is booked in again for tonight. We're in Lancashire & pil &sil are in Devon. All managed it, I hate Monopoly so I left them to it, but definitely a thumbs up from here

northender · 04/04/2020 13:48

Went to aldi & Booths this morning, shopping for elderly neighbour & my parents, 2 bags of plain flour & that was it for both shops, no yeast either although I buy the bigger packs from Doves Farm rather than sachets & still have a fair amount left. I was restrained and bought one of the bags of plain flour. Mum has let me have a bag of SR from her Brexit stash!!

Mrsmadevans · 04/04/2020 13:55

Crickhowell much busier this morning, think ppl have come to their second homes and are being ridiculous, queuing outside Cashells shop, they really need fining heavily, Powys having been relatively unscathed up until now Sad . I have been to Llangors nearly every day for the last 2 weeks caring for Mum & Bob and it has never been like this before, it was so busy.
Bob wasn't very well he is a little bit confused this morning , l sat him down and gave him some brekky and a cuppa, Mum said he had a terrible night sleep and he didn't look well . I wondered if he had a slight stroke or a TIA but he didn't seem as if he had. I just think he isn't right. Something is brewing but l couldn't find anything obvious, talking to him and looking at him. I offered to take them both to hers to stay and l would have stayed with them but they wouldn't hear of it Sad. Just thinking now he could have a U.T.I. l suppose, that makes elderly people a bit confused. Poor Bob, at least Mum is there and has full control of her facilties. Will be up in the morning so we shall see then.
Did l tell you we had an injured Pigeon here in a cat box Smile he's a beauty , Dd1 called him Owain Smile
Pidgy is getting better standing on both his legs , keeping him for another couple of days then will return him to Mums Smile
NSD again from me Grin no surprises there then , nowhere to go to spend it lol

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/04/2020 14:13

Girlie & Born l just wanted to tell you to try not to worry. I know it is worrying but if you think about it they will have to train you before you have to go to ICU, they can't just send you without you being trained. Also the theatre staff and recovery staff will be the first ppl they ask l am sure having had previous exerience of Ventilation/Anaestheisia and CPAP in theatre /recovery setting Flowers
You are doing an amazing job l realise how scary it is for you and for all of my old colleagues. I remember when we had to 'special' HIV & AIDS patients and barrier nurse them in the bad old days when they treated them like lepers Sad, also patients with Meningitis .You used to go in there for a 13 hrs night shift and just a half hour break it was so frightening. We need ppl like you , so brave of you all , l take my hat off to you all Flowers Smile

Mrsmadevans · 04/04/2020 14:14

LIFE l love the 'home school bragging ' GrinGrin

Went to Lidl and a lot of the shelves were bare. Bought two Easter eggs which I might let my children eat before Easter - mad times indeed. It was good to be in amongst people even if we were 2 metres apart. The plastic screens they have up don’t really protect the cashiers as they don’t cover the end where you stand and put your shopping in the trolley. It must be quite frightening working in a shop right now as they are exposed to 100s of people each day with only a pair of gloves to protect them. The cashier gave me a voucher for £5 off that someone had left behind - how lovely was that?

We have a bit of rain here which is disappointing as I’ve washed my bed covers but I suppose it’ll help keep people indoors.

I hope Bob is ok Mrs. It’s good that he’s got you to keep an eye on him. There must be people up and down the country who are really vulnerable not just to the virus but to the social isolation that keeps them away from drs. Our Scottish Health minister made a point of saying yesterday that if you would normally visit A&E for something then you still should.

Wolfcub · 04/04/2020 14:33

Excellent Life. I've seen some outstanding home school bragging on fb and some highly pa anti bragging posts from their friends.

I am exhausted

Ds taken to h's. Ds is never ever living there. Over my dead body. Rough does not cover it.

About 2.5 hours of ironing done.

Ds's room searched for contraband. He is now in a lot of trouble having taken a lot of my things. His dad is dealing with the inevitable bollocking.

Half and half loaf in the bread maker

Downstairs floors all cleaned

Pilates. I was a bit too stiff for some of it

Kitchen surfaces cleaned again. Dw unloaded and reloaded.

Washing on and hung up

I was contemplating baking for fun but I am too buggered. Will have to go and pick Ds up at some point. It's an annoying hour round trip

Bornlazy · 04/04/2020 14:33

There’s no home school bragging here 🤣 Quite the opposite 🙈
Thanks for appreciation - no clapping required😜 Yoga that must be very tough for you.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/04/2020 14:47

I've regressed to when the DC were little. Everyone fed, no one dead = ✓ tick

Oh no wolf, shame he didn't prove your wrong. Had h not got a car to get DS home again. I think you said not but I still have fluff brain.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/04/2020 14:58

Just want to say. My bingo sheet is a bit of fun. I include poking fun at myself here too. Don't want anyone to read it and take it the wrong way.

I'm a covidick

Wolfcub · 04/04/2020 15:06

I think I've at least five on the bingo Grin
