Girlie that is shocking. Can we make you some? I know there has been a thing locally about making scrubs. I don't know if it is people doing "something" or genuinely helpful. If it is the latter - I have fabric and a sewing machine. I can also get latex gloves and sanitizer (not sure if it is clinical grade though).

Ok to improve my Corono Dick Score - new hobby involving purchase from Amazon www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RN8NSN4/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza?tag=mumsnetforu03-21
Yes or no people? Is it a You Tube video too far? I appreciate I will need to source flour, eggs and sugar.

ChristmasSeacow · 03/04/2020 18:40

Welcome to our club Girlie. This is a very big club. Who knew flour and yeast were going to be such precious commodities?

This weekend I am considering cinnamon buns. Proper yeasted ones smothered in icing. Soon I will have to seriously diet 🐷

Sorry work feels so risky Girlie Sad. Are you looking after symptomatic patients or is it the potentially asymptomatic ones that worry you?

Someone is supposed to have contacted me about redeployment to a covid role but hasn’t yet (she’s super busy). But I’m meant to be on AL now till after Easter. I don’t really mind if they need me to cancel it but I’d like a day or two’s notice.

ChristmasSeacow · 03/04/2020 18:45

Gosh Unescorted, that’s a lot of gear for a great price! I say good idea 👍🏻

You’ll need tonnes more butter and icing sugar for frosting too. Icing uses loads of icing sugar . Also if you want to pipe using, royal icing is better. You can make it with icing sugar and egg whites or (probably better) buy royal icing sugar for that bit, which contains powdered egg white so you just add water. Probably less wasteful and may even be easier to get right now.

LaneBoy · 03/04/2020 18:48

Wow girlie that sounds so stressful :(

Yep definitely plan to just stock up from Asda for the toddler tbh. Just basic leggings and t-shirts. Both girls need jammies too. It seems to vary by area as to whether you’re allowed in the clothing bit and DH wasn’t the other day so if we need to we will just have to order online. We have been so lucky with hand me downs (thanks mostly to sea it must be said 💕 and some others here too when Cagletini was a baby!) and otherwise I buy ahead in sales and pick up bits in charity shops etc so I’ve never done a big order like that for her, but it’s cheap and cheerful and all good. DD1 lived in Asda clothes as a little girl actually!

I’m pleased today as I managed to join DH and the younger two on their (almost) daily walk to see the ducks and geese. I am knackered but so happy I managed it!

Unescorted · 03/04/2020 18:53

Sea I have banned myself from making these b/c they are soooooo good

www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/soft-cinnamon-rolls-recipe
The method works for any recipe where you want them to be super soft.

ememem84 · 03/04/2020 18:56

girlie I would but our supermarkets don’t sell clothes...!!

It’s going to have to be online for me.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/04/2020 19:01

Oo that icing kit.......drools........eyes big box of icing kit. .

Wolfcub · 03/04/2020 19:12

Can we have a lockdown dick bingo. I feel someone needs to make a squared thing we can tick off/colour in

I've definitely done video drinking for the first time ever

Bags made and delivered

Washing machine currently leaking all over the kithern floor

Pizza ordered - see above for reason

We've been for our walk. We've fought about homeschooling again

Unescorted great news for dd re Oxford. That deserves some celebration. Can she please share some of her work motivation with ds before I throttle him?

Curvy hope you soon start to feel better

Girlie so sorry you've had a rough day. The friend I've made the bags for is a dn, she says the same. It sounds horrendous out there. Please lean on us and vent as much as you need Daffodil

Unescorted go with the cake decorating. Great fun but spendy and messy. Dd might love it as an art project too

Sea I bloody love making cinnamon buns. I now know what I'm doing tomorrow

I've just remembered I forgot to add croissant dough and marshamalloes to my ocado shop. Bollox (resurrection rolls for Easter)

Unescorted · 03/04/2020 19:52

Wolf If I could wrest some of her motivation & single mindedness off her I would keep it myself. This is what she has wanted to do since she was about 8-9 ish.

Leaky washer deserves pizza.

OK I will purchase the icing set … frugally saving on the postage b/c we have Amazon Prime ( I need to get the sign on code ... task for one of the kids). You can all laugh at my attempts.....

Lane - glad you got out. Don't over do it mind.

SnugglySnerd · 03/04/2020 20:14

Highlight if today was watching a beautiful buzzard catch a thermal directly over our garden and watching it go up and up and up. Wouldn't have seen that on a normal Friday at work I suppose!
Think we can last until Monday before we really need some shopping. We are low on fruit but have stuff for meals and DH made a cake this afternoon that should last the weekend. Washing up liquid is close to running out. Hopefully we can eek (spelling?) it out.

Unescorted · 03/04/2020 20:34

It is amazing how much wildlife is coming back to areas where you wouldn't normally see it. I am seeing all sorts while I am out on my morning run - Mountain hare yesterday, much lower than where it is normally seen. The birds are coming right into the village and I had 2 voles in the garden last weekend.

Lovemaltesers · 03/04/2020 20:36

So relieved. Managed to get an Ocado slot for tomorrow. Milk was going to run out on Sunday morning and only just over a week in on self-isolating.

DD2 has developed a cough since yesterday and not feeling well tonight.

Bornlazy · 03/04/2020 21:18

Just finished watching Tiger King on Netflix. Totally crazy 😮 America really is another world.

Think I might make fudge in the slow cooker tomorrow- might be a lockdown dick myself 😜

Love hope your dd feels better soon

Mrsmadevans · 03/04/2020 22:12

Made 3 coconut cakes and 2 Lasagna , 1 cake for Mum and Bob and 1 Lasagna too. Did the Lasagna differently today put much more sauce with it than normally and it was lovely , not dry after Smile
Dd1 went to look after Mum and Bob today and found an injured pidgeon at Mum's so she bought him home and he had a bad leg. We have fed and watered him but .... we shall have to see what happens . I fear the grim reaper will be calling here soon Sad
That is nature for you, still it's a pigeon not a person .
Have to get real .
l went onto Superdrug to get some of their toiletries sent to me , everything is click and collect , l am not going anywhere near the place Shock We are all scared witless . So A NSD for me today Grin
Hope everyone is ok there are so many posts everyone has been talking a lot today l will have to carch up Grin

Happierwithouthim · 03/04/2020 22:25

Unescorted my vegan friend who lives probably five minutes from me makes sourdough so I'll be able to get starter from her, I'd just like to achieve it myself. I'd love to make sourdough years from now and say oh I started that during the covid pandemic of 2020 in the ten rented house with no internet or phone reception Grin

Superdad came for dc after all so I've got my own company for the weekend.

Plenty of reading & walking will be done Smile

Might make Guinness & treacle brown bread too if it's a success I'll post pic & recipe

Unescorted · 03/04/2020 23:04

Just leave it out - it gets there in the end.

ChristmasSeacow · 04/04/2020 00:14

Unescorted they sound amazing. The ones I made before were lovely but did harden up after a day or so. I am going to try yours. They do sound worth the extra little effort.

You were most welcome Lane, I was so pleased to have a friend to send the baby things to! The older stuff goes to a school mum now from DS’s class. We have way too many clothes Blush

My lie in tomorrow. That’s why I’m still up. That and I unexpectedly managed to get into the Ocado home page and get a booking for next weekend. Yay!!!!

northender · 04/04/2020 06:53

Definitely a lockdown dick here too:
Banana loaf and tea bread baked
Dd has made cinder toffee and HM pasta
Done online fitness classes and a yoga class too
Virtual Pub quiz
Sourdough on the list for this weekend
Jigsaw on the go

Lovemaltesers · 04/04/2020 07:38

Great news on the debt free happier

Flowers girlie. You do an amazing job, I wish you could feel safer xx

Easter holidays have begun. Time to become a lockdown dick too Grin. We must start on doing some decorating. Hopefully the paint we’ve had for ages in the garage is still ok.

SnugglySnerd · 04/04/2020 08:06

Plan for today is to make Easter bonnets then take cute photos to make into Moonpig cards to cheers up all the grandparents. Does anyone know how to make one card on Moonpig and send it to several different recipients? I tried on Mothers Day and almost sent 3 to DH's nan!

Wolfcub · 04/04/2020 08:14

Lousy night's sleep. Not helped by ds getting up and prowling round the house from 12.30-1.30. I think he's stressed. I'm dropping him at h's for a while today. Hopefully that will make him less stressed but it's making me incredibly anxious. both because h seems to have had the virus, and though he assured me he's cleaned everywhere I know what his cleaning is like, and because it means I can't drop ds in a neutral space

Going to do Pilates later. Might bake and we need bread so will decide whether I'm doing handmade or bread maker later

Unescorted · 04/04/2020 08:47

Morning :)

The virus only lasts on a surface for 72 hours for the longest according to the official guidance sent to us at the Foodbank.

Poor sleep seems to be really common - there was something on R4 the other day on setting good sleep routines. I guess having less daily structure means most of are letting sleep times drift & it is interrupting our normal patterns.

Snuggly I have no idea how to sort Moonpig, but it is a lovely idea, both for the kids and the recipient. Have fun creating.

I have left my icing kit in the basket overnight & I still think it is what I need to get through social distancing ( I find the use of LOCKdown too willy waving to take seriously). I also need to get muffin cases - what are the chances of these being in the supermarket? I have harboured a fantasy to set up a chick flick bakery, complete with quirky gay friend, cute dog that never shits, pastel colours and whiney acoustic music montages for a while. The icing kit is the first step to realising this dream.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 04/04/2020 08:58

Thanks for kind comments after my vent Ystd, I think my boss telling me after Easter I might be back with the dns full time was the final straw!! Thank you unescorted but I think I can only wear what crap they give me.

Loving all the baking talk, cinnamon buns are my absolute favourite, delicious! This wend I want to make some flapjacks for dd to snack on and I will make some bread I think.

We finished watching a Norwegian series on Netflix Ystd which we both enjoyed I think it was called Raganork. Ideal for teens if any of you are looking for a series for them to watch.
