Ooh that's not good but I would have probably done the same!!

£15 in Morrisons today on food and I ordered the noise cancelling ear plugs for £22. I'm really hoping they work for me and that I dont find any interference too much of a bother.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/03/2020 18:18

The plate is about 10-12 ish years old as it's from when DC were little.

SnugglySnerd · 11/03/2020 19:40

Great news on the job Life!

Sorry I'm not keeping up very well. It's a mixture of work, tiredness and trying not to look at too much stressful Corona stuff. I don't mean you guys but there's a lot on mn in general. I don't normally get anxious about germs and things but the thought of being potentially stuck inside with 3 small children, not enough food or loo roll and having to try and keep my school kids going remotely is stressing me out!

northender · 11/03/2020 22:30

Well done on the job life. Good luck with yours wolf
Nice to see you curvy
Pil arrived tonight. Tea out at pub, mil paid.
Car insurance sorted, £90 cheaper than renewal quote (£290) & done through TCB with £50 cash back.
Tough time with ds & dd health wise at the moment so feeling under the cosh. Will catch up properly soon.

Mrsmadevans · 11/03/2020 22:50

Been busy today , Drs appt , car taken for service only spends car service and a tyre £112 . Think I will have to get to bed have a good night everyone Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/03/2020 06:41

Yes it's not but coronia on most of the threads. I'm sick of it now. Obviously want everyone to be ok but people have gone mad.
Sainsbury's yesterday had swathes of stock outs. Are people buildings walls of toilet paper?

Mrsmadevans · 12/03/2020 07:25

Morning everyone 😀
Off to Mum's in a bit up early this morning. Bit of snow on the mountains . Not spending today hopefully 🙄
Though need a tank of petrol so will have to pay for that LTR . Have a good day everyone 😀

Wolfcub · 12/03/2020 07:39

Happier* I would report his behaviour Ystd (or Tuesday?) to the police especially if he hit you.

I'm still feeling rough, I am marginally better but I'm not a good patient and am becoming increasingly frustrated at feeling like shit!

On a more positive note am enjoying all the bulbs that are flowering in the garden, lots of tulips out now which are one of my favourite flowers.

Depends on what the food was life Grin
Ex kicked off at dc yesterday evening too, dd in tears as he threatened to get rid of her hamster and ds upset because he forgot some books for homework and he got roasted for it, we found 2 of the 3 missing ones in his school bag so obviously ex didn't even look in the bag before he attacked what's new Shock

girlie he didn't hit me, I guess he's smart enough to know I got a safety order previously and won't think twice about getting another one.

Had to return home as au pair's car didn't start so mechanic has now replaced battery, will pay him next week I think.

Schools are now shut in Ireland until end of the month so dc and au pair will be at home every day, hope weather will be ok so that they can at least play outdoors for a bit.

Aldi chicken sausages and chips.
£4.75 Easter egg and banana, £171 horse of the year show for DD birthday.

Ivegotnothing · 12/03/2020 17:03

Hi everyone, I’m just catching up on the lovely new thread!
life I need an Easter egg now!
Rather a spendy day as I ordered 2 Mother’s Day boxes of chocolates from Hotel Chocolat for DM and MIL and a cake for my Aunty (she’s been on my Mother’s Day present list for almost 30 years now, since she lost her daughter and I took over)...postage really wacks the prices up doesn’t it! Over £80 in total.
In between working I started a spreadsheet to monitor all my spending...I’ve been meaning to do one for a while, hoping it will keep me honest.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/03/2020 18:15

They are half price in Tesco so that's my god daughters sorted.

AnUnlikelyWorldofInvisibleShad · 12/03/2020 18:19

£27 on a mothers day present for mum and £15 on a birthday present for my stepdad. That's it for birthdays until next month.

Wolfcub · 12/03/2020 19:38

Tough work day and I've come down with a rotten cold. Feel rubbish. Ds being a complete wazzock too

Happier sorry you are having such a tough time with ExhDaffodilhere for anything you need just message if you need to chat

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/03/2020 19:42

Oh no wolf. Gws. What's DS up to now?
My ds is sniffing tonight.

Happier hope the DC are ok today after their 'd'f display last night. Get it written down for record.

Drafting covid policy for scouts. Thought I'd had enough at work. Hey ho

LaneBoy · 12/03/2020 19:52

Hi all. Fell off the old thread. Been in a bad place lately, and I can’t deny the latest news on CV (sorry) has made me even more anxious TBH.

I’ve actually mostly managed ok being frugal though other than food (although that’s still an improvement on the past) - I’ve been on the ADHD medication for a few months now and it’s definitely making a difference. Lost 11lb so far this year :o

Finally got Cagletini’s tuff tray too and that’s giving some nice structure to our days and is keeping me busy :)

I’ve missed you all!

ememem84 · 12/03/2020 20:37

@laneboy I’m so glad to see you! I missed you and was a bit worried if I’m honest.

I’m struggling too at present. Dh is massively downplaying the virus thing. I’m anxious about it. I have a sore throat today and am feeling coldy. But am due my period and this usually happens. So it’s probably that (and I think virus doesn’t present with sore throat) but still.

We have two confirmed cases here. They’re threatening a full lockdown.

SnugglySnerd · 12/03/2020 20:56

Get well soon Wolf

Good to see you Lane.

Very long day at work. I'm shattered.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/03/2020 21:22

Hey lane. Sorry you are struggling. You too em.

ememem84 · 13/03/2020 07:10

Feeling more positive today. I’m still reading the news (probably a bad thing really) and am actually fascinated with how this whole thing is being dealt with. It’ll be interesting to see it play out.

I can’t believe boris hasn’t followed suit like other countries and banned huge gatherings and closed schools.

Here we’ve now been told we won’t get tested unless hospitalised. And it’s all about protecting the economy. So will be on work from home lockdown probably in the next week or so.

Swimming with ds today. Then am taking him to the library.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/03/2020 07:22

Hhmm is interesting watching events unfold.
Schools will close eventually imo. Does every school need to close. Not sure. Still some areas with no cases.
No doubt the advice will change again next week.

Wolfcub · 13/03/2020 07:45

Lane it's lovely to see you. Sorry you are having a tough time. Em glad you are feeling a bit brighter this morning

My cold is absolutely rotten I am feeling decidedly lousy and sorry for myself. Need to clean as house is a tip but will take the easy approach where I can and need to work for a few hours, what I really want to do is nap on the sofa

I honestly believe all schools will extend the Easter break.
