ememem84 · 27/03/2020 09:51

Oooh that looks fun!!!

ememem84 · 27/03/2020 09:51

Cancelled Mexico. 😭

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/03/2020 11:07

It's quite messy em.
Oh no that was for a wedding wasn't it?

CamdenTownie · 27/03/2020 11:22

Thanks everyone for the messages 😊

No builders here for the foreseeable, which at least gives us a bit of peace to try and get some school work done ✅

Dd2 (12) isn't feeling very well, says her head hurts but it's not a headache, I've given her Calpol and a look and soothe thing but she says it's not helping.

Payday today 🥳, I usually transfer a food budget to my Monzo account, along with a few other expenses such as kids bus fares, club fees and car maintenance etc but most of those won't be needed now.

Rock cakes are today's bake.

Just heard Boris has tested positive for Covid-19 Confused

ememem84 · 27/03/2020 11:24

life outside thing then!!

Yes it was for a wedding. The bride and groom have cancelled.

ememem84 · 27/03/2020 11:40

Eugh. I have a headache. Not sure whether lack of water (so sipping more to hydrate), too much caffeine, lack of sleep over the last week, and or anxiety.

I’m not even acknowledging the other.

CamdenTownie · 27/03/2020 11:46

Em- we had our holiday cancelled by TUI, were due to fly next weekend and spend the Easter Holidays in Asia, TUI haven't made any contact or given us any info as of yet, holiday was cancelled last Wednesday, I think they will try and get us to take a credit note and wriggle Out of a refund - not great seeing as holiday prices will rise massively next year, apparently they are trying To get a law pushed through that says you must accept vouchers.

ememem84 · 27/03/2020 12:29

I’ve asked BA for a cash refund but have applied for a voucher as well. Just in case.

Suns out sharks out!

Wolfcub · 27/03/2020 13:33

Ah sorry about Mexico Em. I am still waiting to hear about a refund. Cancelled two weeks ago by airline and due to go next week.

Things we are using more of in the new world:

Butter spread
Juice
Loo roll
Fruit
Flour
Tea
Beer
Rice/pasta

Wolfcub · 27/03/2020 13:37

Loaf in the breadmaker. Old and discoloured though it may be it's seen us through numerous snowed in crises, the inevitable pre Boxing Day moronic panic buying by others and now covid-19

CamdenTownie · 27/03/2020 13:52

Wolf - have they contacted you at all? I'm quite concerned that I won't get my money back, we were supposed to be travelling for a national holiday/festival which won't happen again until next year, dd1's exams mean that we won't be able to go next year so just want a refund.

Our flights were with a third party and we haven't heard from them either, I can see this ending with a lot of angry customers.

I hope you have better luck than me with contact.

ememem84 · 27/03/2020 14:04

Dh is baking. Chocolate flapjacks.

Wolfcub · 27/03/2020 14:07

Camden they messaged last week to say they'd be in touch this week. I think they are trying to deal with customers in order of departure days.

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/03/2020 14:19

Same as wolf for our holiday. Same company

Unescorted · 27/03/2020 17:06

Afternoon!

The weekend has started. YaY….

Baking plans - flourless orange cake, sourdough and some biscuits of some sort I think. I am also thinking of giving Chinese dumplings a go.... At times like these I love You Tube and a spice cupboard stocked for a zombie apocalypse.

I hope you all hear soon about cancelled holidays and refunds.

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/03/2020 17:14

in on the phone to jet to as their two options don't work for me. We have no more approved leave and their two options dont work for me. I may be here while.

DH bough some bits for MIL and I had to take them over as he has come down with the aches (after he got home) FGS, No temp though or cough

Wolfcub · 27/03/2020 17:21

Let me know how you get on Life. I've tweeted jet2 and Money saving Martin

Yogawoogie · 27/03/2020 17:25

All this talk of baking is making me want to make some bread and cake! Yum.

It’s horrible not being able to see loved ones.

I took my car to the garage today. They only charged for parts, not for their time. When I asked why they said it is because I’m a nurse Sad I wept! So lovely of them! I feel awful!

So first spend of this paycheque was £90.

Unescorted · 27/03/2020 17:31

Life - hope he is OK. We have had low level sore throats and chesty coughs here for several weeks - no temperature and not dry coughing. We are assuming we are just suffering from common and garden colds.

I am keeping the cupboards, fridge & freezer well stocked just in case we end up with a dodgy cough.

Unescorted · 27/03/2020 17:32

Yoga that is lovely of them.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 27/03/2020 17:43

Hello all, nice to see you Camden, I'm glad the roof is coming along and that's a lot of time saved losing the commute!

Ouch em, poor ds! I'm really struggling with not seeing dm, I'm also having to consider that if/when I start looking after CV patients dd will have to move in with dm 😢

Busy day back with the community nurses today, felt quite nice doing my old role but am sure the novelty will wear off pretty quickly!!

Dd coped on her own all day, bless her.

Mrsmadevans · 27/03/2020 19:39

Sorry have been MIA, have been suffering terribly for anxiety attacks thinking l have CV Hmm I have also been trying my best to look after my Mum and family but OMG these times are so trying. I have been trying my best but its really hard, Bob's Daughter has now come out of the woodwork Hmm and sent me a few unsavoury texts , the last one she sent was the last straw for me and l have put my Mum and Bob in the picture today . This along with what my SIL has sent me on Weds, blaming me for Mum and Bob being together during this self isolation period is really stressing me out .
I will post the texts from Bob's daughter and you can see what is going on. Bob and Mum say that all of what she is saying isn't true and l insisted Bob phoned his daughter today while l was there and she never said a word to him about any of this. It makes me out to be a liar but l have the evidence in the texts. Honestly this is so stressful . Her last text was so rude to me , no hello, sorry to bother you but could you ..... no thank you, no goodbye, no name . I was really annoyed because l felt it was so rude . I have not replied to her and l am not goin gto reply if she contacts me again. Have a look for me please, if you wouldn't mind, l would really appreciate your opinions. Will put it in my next message. Thank you Smile
