Bedding changed (wasn’t going to do this but Dd sicked on it...)
Laundry in and on
Dishwasher on

I’ve showered and am back in bed. Dh has taken ds swimming. Dd is napping. Poor baby is so full of mucous. She’s coughing loads too. But is having her bottle and is peeing etc. And is sleeping. So I’m not too concerned.

Unescorted · 22/12/2019 12:43

Pleased Laska is safe & well. in case she is lurking.

I have put a load of washing on.... just not yet got the energy to hang it up to dry.

Wolf Do not feel guilty about going on holiday by order of the Fabulous Frugaleers.

Christmas baking well under way - spuds par boiled and cooling / drying. Paneforte baked ( surprisingly easy) 2 types of biscotti done. Having a cup of tea before researching how long in advance I can do the gel for the salmon starter....

Laska2Meryls · 22/12/2019 13:46

@Laska2Meryls lovely to see you!!!

I’m taking Dd down to out of hours at 430. She keeps throwing up her feeds. Poor baby. Dh thinks I’m overreacting but I spoke to the dr on the phone and they said to take her down.

Ds is meant to be napping. But he’s bouncing around in his cot. Swimming usually knackers me out. Why does it seem to give him more energy?!?!

ChristmasSeacow · 22/12/2019 14:29

Hey Laksa, welcome back! Congrats on retiring - and what news of the camper van?

Won’t hurt to check aem

I’m on a tidying mission and a few nicer jobs in between... Gingerbread dough done and chilling. Will cut out and bake with DC after DD’s nap. 2 loads of washing done and some delicate wools soaking. Trip to the garden centre done too - we needed to buy a naice houseplant for SIL to go with the half a present she’s sharing with BIL. I wasn’t feeling overly generous though - I know I shouldn’t hold a grudge but I am still peed off that they forgot DS’s birthday completely (and DD’s first birthday last year). Also got a couple of small plants and nice pots for our bedroom, and some potting compost as I needed to repot a couple of things at home. Have also done that repotting.

I seem to have a huge pile of paper to sort out. I’d like to get that done before Christmas too. Gifts all bought (finally!) but I still have a few things to wrap. My tax return paperwork is also hanging over me....

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 22/12/2019 14:33

I'm also at OOHs with dd, it's like a scene from hell - a waiting room full of kids looking about as crap as dd does!

At least being stuck at home with a sick child is frugal!

Congratulations on your retirement laska lovely to 'see' you!

ememem84 · 22/12/2019 16:27

@Girliefriendlikespuppies we’re the only ones here....

Dd looks sorry for herself. All red eyes and snotty and dribbly. She’s a bit of a mess. Poor girl.

Hopefully your Dd is seen soon and everything’s ok. Hope she perks up before Christmas.

Wolfcub · 22/12/2019 17:10

Fingers crossed both girls get see. Quickly and are ok

I'm currently feeling sorry for myself christingle was lovely but I'm a packed church I was the only person in a pew completely on my own. Same happened at a sports event on Wednesday. Normally I'm fine, I'm pretty robust, but this week it's bothering me.

Hello laksa. Happy retirement. Have you curbed your Hush habit now you are a pensioner GrinGrin

Laska2Meryls · 22/12/2019 17:48

Hi all, thanks .. New Year is definitely new committing to frugal time for me .. its going to be a shock not getting a pay packet.. ( although I so have reasonable works pension.. and of course Dh has also (finally ) retired ..

christmasseacow no camper yet , but we are planning on a campervan holiday in Scandinavia next year and hopefully buying one after the summer ..

Hmm.... Hush habit , I have rather gone over to Toast as well life ... Blush but it has to stop .. and I wont need the same sort of clothes now I am not working ..

Atm i still feel like I am on holiday , but once Jan comes .. and no pay cheque.. no doubt reality will hit .. Grin

SnugglySnerd · 22/12/2019 18:28

Congratulations on your retirement, Laska! Lovely to see you. I've actually been lurking on the other thread you and Happier have been posting on for a bit of inspiration! Pleased you've come back to see us all!

Very low spend day. £5 parking and another £4 in the local shop on a few bits chocolate

I've been paid a week early. Bit annoyed because they don't usually do that and it will confuse me. I can't touch it as most goes into our joint account next week by standing order but I could do with borrowing a bit from it to pay for the Christmas food shop. That will mess up January's bills though as dh and I get paid at completely different times so we need the correct amount to go into our joint account before all the dds go out on the 1st (or 2nd as it's Jan). Will have to put food shop on cc and pay it off after we've both been paid.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/12/2019 18:36

What's the other thread nosey?

ememem84 · 22/12/2019 18:57

And we’re home. Dd has an upper respiratory virus which I believe is fancy term for a cold.

She sicked on the dr. He checked her throat with the wooden stick thing she gagged and got him. Oopsy.

Home now.

northender · 22/12/2019 19:13

Get well soon to all the poorly ones.
Laska lovely to see you & congrats on retirement!
Dh is ill in bed & has a high temp. Bad timing. I need him to get the turkey and the meat tomorrow!
Church this morning, pub this afternoon & then cricket club childrens party which always makes me feel festive, even though ours are too old for it now. Still loads to do & working tomorrow, but will get it done.

Laska2Meryls · 22/12/2019 19:18

its Shopping our Wardrobes life. Its about making new outfits each day with what we've already got! and posting photo for inspiration .. but its not a total no spend thread .. (luckily for me! Grin)

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/12/2019 19:40

I need to do something like that as loads of my clothes are too big now. I've bought stuff but not worn it when I should as been living in gym gear.

SnugglySnerd · 22/12/2019 22:12

I need to do it too, I'm rubbish at putting together outfits. I've realised I need to get everything and work put what I'm missing. E.g. a short skirt would go with a lot of my tops and a chunky jumper would go with existing skirts. Then I'd have a lot more outfits without buying much.

Happierwithouthim · 22/12/2019 23:22

We're branching out ladies Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/12/2019 07:26

I loved some of the outfits and would never think of that.
I struggle with jumpers though as I run warm so can't wear them with things under as I over heat sweat

ememem84 · 23/12/2019 07:32

I tried doing it. But found that everyone was waaaaaay more stylish than me. There I was in my skinnies and a top and there they were in ballgowns.

Might hop back on though. I mean I did go white tiger on Saturday. 😂

Christmas Eve Eve. How did we get here?

Dd slept through - aside from some horrible spluttering in her sleep. Ds slept through. I know this because I was awake at midnight, 2, 330, 5 and 7.

Have a lot to do today. And must. Must. Do a food shop. Might see if dh can do it tonight.

Unescorted · 23/12/2019 09:37

wolf sorry to hear you are feeling Meh! SOme times people mistake the "hi I am friendly" face for the "I am super popular and my friends are on the way, so don't bother sitting here" face. You know I am just the other side of the hill …..

Laska great to see you about. And glad you have finally retired. Tootles off to the stylish thread for inspiration.

SnugglySnerd · 23/12/2019 10:36

Supermarket done. It was like the 7th circle of hell.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/12/2019 11:28

My Sainsbury's driver said they were quing to the ship at 6 this morning and it was mental from then on in.
£160 delivered. £50 ish tomorrow for butchers.
£12 cinema later for DH and DS star wars. Plus snacks. Maybe go to Matalan for Christmas bedding if DD gets out of PJs.

Ah wolf I would have day with you. I'm not far away either.

Hope people are feeling better today. The power of sleep.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/12/2019 12:39

Clearly not quing to the ship. Shop.

£5.50 refund from Sainsbury's. DC don't want to go out so £00 Matalan
