Dd currently asleep upstairs, she NEVER sleeps during the day so must be feeling really shocking bless her.

I've been out to walk the dog, he's 6 and a half months now and has tons of energy! He chased a squirrel today, the stupid thing jumped down right in front of him. Luckily he didn't catch it 😬🐿

Have done some tidying so house is reasonably straight....

That's great news about the mortgage happier

SnugglySnerd · 21/12/2019 16:51

So it was, Life! Thank you.

I have similar issues Em. Dh sticks to the general timings of meals and snacks but the snacks tend to be small and rubbish e.g. a rice cake or 2 biscuits and then they are hungry and play up. He also let them eat rubbish cereal as a snack before breakfast and them gets cross when they won't eat porridge at breakfast time.

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/12/2019 17:11

They couldn't for our wolf as I have power points in the 'burn zone' ie too close to the hob. Reload back into the wagon and refund given. AO customer service fab.
New parts for current oven ordered, clean booked for 6 January, tracked down a possibility of a cupboard to fill the gap from someone who used to work for the company who did my kitchen.
Not hugely frugal but cheaper than a new oven and moving electric sockets

White tiger print dress too much?

Em it is Christmas - nothing is too much.

Happier good news.

Thanks for the kind thoughts re the job - I am kind of resigned to it being what ever it is.

I had to go up to my parents to pick up a beef filet that is being made into beef boot for tomorrow night's tea & I ended up staying there much longer than I had intended. So I have only done the crackers and marmalade. The crackers are soooooo cute & v. easy. I did these ones and sprinkled them with some smoked rock salt.

Wolfcub · 21/12/2019 18:50

Dinner at friends tonight after a trip to the pub £10 on a round

Definitely not too much Em.

It’s a shame it’s hanging over you at Christmas Unescorted, but I’m glad you are philosophical for now, nothing is going to change over the next couple of weeks so hopefully you can shelve the thoughts for now and enjoy your break.

Today has been expensive. I went to make gingerbread, found I was out of treacle, went to sainsbos, spent £90. Stocked up a bit on wine, which made quite a dent in that. Also naice gin to take to PIls, and fruit for kids, and baking ingredients and more Lindor . Still, ouch.

I have had a very frustrating day looking for my sisters’ Christmas gift, bought a good 2-3 months ago. I have literally turned out all of the huge built-in cupboards in 3 of the bedrooms and... nowt. Then I just had a ‘moment’ and looked in the nappy stash cupboard. And there it was - a bag with the missing gifts. I have wasted so much time today! Crown Confused

Unescorted · 21/12/2019 20:44

sea if you leave you gift buying until Christmas Eve or later then you don't have time to lose them.

I manged to do a £120 top up shop in Aldi yesterday followed by £40 in Morrisons (no cheap fennel v. disappointed ).... admittedly part of the top up was the turkey and the santa sack goodies, which I can't be bothered hiding so have just a do not even think of helping yourself notice on the bag under the kitchen table / desk. At nearly 15 & 18 x 2 I don't think they believe in Santa anymore.

Oh my - I am watching the fire reports in Australia. It is so scary, they are getting so close to Sydney (there is one just near where we used to live & we were Sydneysiders) and the poor folks in the Blue Mountains. We still have friends & family out there so it is a huge worry. Puts my hissy fit about my job into perspective.

Happierwithouthim · 21/12/2019 21:25

My sisters in Sydney unescorted she said the smokes gotten really bad plus my brothers friends who's a firefighter has been flown out from Canada to there.

€25.58 on getting lock nuts replaced
€7.90 on wood glue for my parents arm chair which regularly collapses under a person
€8.11 on 4 months supply of vitamins for dc using Holland and Barrett's vits20 discount code for 20% off, did click & collect for free
€100 for my share of dps Christmas present

Unescorted · 21/12/2019 21:42

The poor thing - I hope she is nearer in & safe. My Bro is sailing in the S2H this year so he & his mob are flying in to Sydney today. They bought face masks before they left Melbourne b/c of the smoke.

I have nothing but admiration for the firefighters - most of them are volunteers. So they are doing their job in the day and then putting their lives on the line when they get home.

ememem84 · 22/12/2019 00:32

Home. Bir pissed. But had a lovely time. Dh did too. My work are super generous. £259 amazon voucher for me and a £50 M&S voucher for dh. So kind.

I’ve had a lot of red wine.

SnugglySnerd · 22/12/2019 06:34

How are you feeling today, Em?

Unescorted · 22/12/2019 07:33

Do we need to start vacuuming the thread's stairs and landing em. Glad you had a good night out.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 22/12/2019 07:35

Been up since 6am here with dd, temp 39.4 ☹️ she's had more paracetamol and seems a bit happier. It's going to be a long day, might end up calling 111 to get her checked although I'm sure it's just viral.

We're all in my bed now including the dog and cat!!

ememem84 · 22/12/2019 07:54

Morning. Feeling ok for the moment from the wine. My throat is ridiculously sore though and I’m all kinds of achey. Im Going to ride it out today though and if I still feel like this tomorrow will see if I can get a dr apt. Although like girlie it’s possibly viral.

Hoping for a quiet day today. That’s possible with two littlies right?!

SnugglySnerd · 22/12/2019 08:25

Good luck, Em! We attempted a quiet day yesterday as everyone is so exhausted. It was ok up to a point (about 3pm)!

SnugglySnerd · 22/12/2019 08:26

Sorry posted too soon. Hope dd gets better soon, Girlie.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/12/2019 08:27

Quiet day! Possibly not em good luck though. The dress looked fab. Pleased you had a good time.

Hope all Auzzie's stay safe.

Polar express last night. But lane to stay but the actual train was fun. £4.50 for chips !! They had to share.

DC and friends swimming today. I need mascara and concealer. Panto this afternoon.

Unescorted · 22/12/2019 08:32

girlie hope she feels better soon. I have a poorly dd - but as she is older my maternal obligations are to make her a hot chocolate and make mildly sympathetic noises. She is now back in bed.

em quiet days are possible - just look at as practice for when they get to the age of high volume squabble. The ability to ignore everything becomes quite useful.

Wolfcub · 22/12/2019 08:41

Girlie poor dd, I hope she feels better soon, I'd be tempted to ring 111.
Em hope you feel better too. I'd do a day of Xmas films and chilling on the sofa

I am mildly hungover but had a good night. Trying to catch up on the washing mountain but I'm running out of drying space

Need to wash out the fridge before ocado delivery later then christingle service then possible skateboarding but that will make it a late night and I'm not sure I have the va va voom. Need to be up at 5 tomorrow to take mother for her Christmas food shop

Unescorted · 22/12/2019 08:44

wolf I am the same... I need more radiators. I feel sorry for you having to do Christmas shopping tomorrow. It was bad enough on Friday.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/12/2019 09:12

Hope DD is on the mend soon girlie.

I've got a wash mountain. I have to plan my loads one for airer one for tumble and alternate.

Walking to the gym. Need my head read don't I?

Happierwithouthim · 22/12/2019 09:21

Feeling smug here I washed a dark wash before going to work fri & then put in dryer, lights wash in then after work & into dryer before I left plus put on dishwasher too, wanted to come back to jobs done. Washed at my parents because ds wet the bed as per usual.

We had family Christmas here yesterday & I drank wine from 3-6 so I passed on going out. Feeling very tired so wanted to conserve some energy for Christmas Grin

Bf hasn't got me a Christmas present yet Grin asked when he'd a few drinks in last night what he'd get me & then later on in conversation was trying to get out of me where we were going & if he could go halves HmmGrin want to scream at him my Fitbits broken WinkWink replacing the strap would sort it out

Life enjoy gym

Wolf 5am going shopping ShockShockShock

Hope all the frugaleers & mini frugaleers who are ill get better soon

Met Laska on another thread, she's well Smile

Wolfcub · 22/12/2019 11:35

One load of washing in. Food bank bag filled. Fridge cleaned and all the manky dodgy dead stuff throw away.

I'm trying to decide if today is the day to start reading the hogfather or whether I can cram another Christmas book in first

I have washed the coffee maker to send to h with ds tomorrow

Next job kitchen floor which is muddy as hell after all the crap weather. Cuppa first though.

I'm feeling guilty about the holiday I booked just because I'm so nervous about spending money and I'm giving myself a virtual slap round the chops for beating myself up about it
