Sounds lovely em.

NSD

ememem84 · 01/12/2019 21:24

Oooh and I had chicken liver pate for starters. And skinny toast (Melba toast?). I bloody love pate. It was garlicky and delicious.

And then I had a nut roast dinner. With Yorkshire pudding, roasted veggies.

And sticky toffee pudding.

In bed now. Dd was crying at 545 this morning. She’s started twirling herself round in her cot. I found her completely upside down (so head where her feet were - not on her front, she hasn’t learned to roll over yet!) so this will be interesting. I remember ds doing that....

Plancina · 01/12/2019 22:21

em I lovvvve pâté. My DP is French so he fully supports this and brings it home from his mums Grin
I am in bed with a lemsip - am riddled with sore throat, cough and blocked nose. Yay. I teach 7 hours in a row tomorrow as well. It’s actually easier to go in than try to set cover sadly. Plus I can’t afford to lose pay. Only one week to go though, then some end of term admin the following week, off for Christmas hols from 13th which will be great.
Free dinner at work Christmas carols today - lasagne which ruined my Team RH calories totally

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 01/12/2019 22:38

Spent quite a bit in town
£11 poundland
£32 mountain warehouse
£36 Boots
£5 Body Shop
£4 Greggs

Just my brother left and nephew left to buy for, thank God!

Loved SCD, I am a big musical fan! I think I want Karim or Kelvin to win. Chris has to go next surely, I like the man but can't believe he's got this far.

Got a busy week ahead, I'm teaching tomorrow and working overtime Wednesday to catch up, will be good to have some extra pennies for January.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/12/2019 06:26

Got my Sainsbury's slot for 23 December. Just need to order meat now.

ememem84 · 02/12/2019 08:11

I love kelvin and oti!!! But I really want Anton and Emma to win. Antons never got to the final. #teamanton

Been up with ds and catface since 6. Bananas on toast and a yoghurt for him. Toast and tea for me. Biscuits for catface and a bounce in the garden.

We’re watching pepper pig. I’m getting lost in Internet conspiracy theories re the death of the queen. Allegedly (according to a WhatsApp message which has been all over Twitter) she died yesterday and it’ll be announced today at 930. I doubt it’s true but the frenzy it crazy

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 02/12/2019 09:11

I saw a thread that the Queen had died, bless her, am sure it would be all over the news and all newsreaders would be in black etc if true.

My backs gone so my day has gone to pot 😫 so ridiculous as was fine when I got up but suddenly seemed to go into a spasm when I was brushing my hair! Can't stand up straight, have cancelled work today and am going to try and see a physio my mum knows later.

Am too busy for this!!

WreckTangled · 02/12/2019 09:42

Just rumours girlie. My friend is a police officer at Windsor castle.

Dd is poorly today so I'm home. Thank goodness for paid carers leave although I have got lots of work to do before jury duty next week.

ememem84 · 02/12/2019 13:29

The funny thing was that most newsreaders on tv (bbc and local were dressed in dark colours...)

We’ve been out to b&q, sports direct and then for late breakfast early lunch.

£26 b&q - mould spray sponge blue tissue paper roll, Christmas doormat, lightbulbs.

£35 sports direct - dh bought himself new trainers

£21 brunch - breakfast for dh, bacon and egg roll for me, pancakes with banana and Nutella for ds. Apple juice and two flat whites.

Ds and I had our wellies on and went for a run on the beach and a splash in then sea after. The sea got in ds’ boots. He’s now having a well earned nap. Best morning for him. Testing the doorbells in b&q, chocolate spread, splashing. 😀

SnugglySnerd · 02/12/2019 19:47

Nsd. Hooray! Only 2 more Mondays this term.

I am also a big SCD fan. I like all those who are left and I also liked Alex. I think I would pick Kelvin and Oti if I had to choose a winner but I won't really mind.

Unescorted · 02/12/2019 20:49

Given the Queen is in effect a Civil Servant would they announce it in the Pre Election Period or would they cancel the election?

ememem84 · 02/12/2019 21:34

Gym then dinner.

Ds went to bed easy enough. Then when I went to give Dd a bath I popped into his room to put a book away. Turns out he was wide awake sitting up in bed playing with a tractor. He saw me, lay down and said “no tractor larlie leepin” (Charlie sleeping) so I guess tractor was keeping him awake....🙄

Tomorrow I’m dropping him to nursery, then getting my nails done (£39) then have an hour and half or so free before I go and get my hair done (cut and colour so probably around £100). Am planning to use the free time to finish my Christmas shopping. Hair apt is at 12 so I should be able to get a fair bit done before the lunchtime rush starts.

Plancina · 02/12/2019 21:37

I coloured my hair at home and it’s way too dark. It looks odd. Alas. I need that colour stripper stuff. I have caught a nasty cold
So about to have a bath and go to bed very early. Zzzzz. Cough.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 02/12/2019 22:15

Boring day at home, did get a few jobs done and made a vat of bolognaise, enough for a few portions in the freezer.

Backs still sore and I'm pretty wonky ☹️ think will be off again tomorrow, really annoying.

Downloaded the snapfish app, it gives you 50 free photo prints a month, postage is £3.50, have ordered my prints.

ememem84 · 03/12/2019 07:01

plan I did my own hair once and made such a. Mess of it never again.

I don’t always get it coloured though as it’s a ridiculous cost really.

The last few times I’ve had it done my hairdresser has done a balyage with lovely caramel/gold/blondes. So I’m going for a refresh of that and a colour tint over the top. Maybe a bright pink. Or a violet.

It also means that I get at least 3 hours on my own. I’m taking a sandwich and a book. 😀

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/12/2019 07:34

Does washing up liquid still work to strip colour. Fairy liquid

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 03/12/2019 09:59

I'm off again today, back still really sore 😩

Got a few jobs I want to do today, just boring things like take the meter readings and order my repeat px. Might start wrapping a few presents but not sure my back will like that! Need to go to Aldi later but will wait till dd is home and take her to help with lifting bags etc.

Managed to spill a hot chocolate over the sofa last night so have stripped it and will wash all the covers. It needed a wash anyway tbh.

Little dog is keeping me company 🐶

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/12/2019 11:25

Girlie use your ironing board to wrap on. Saves hunching over

ememem84 · 03/12/2019 14:48

Currently all foiled up. Waiting patiently.

Spends. £39 nails.

And probably around £200 on Christmas gifts. And. I’m. Done.

Have to wrap everything. But I’m finished. Yippee.

Unescorted · 03/12/2019 17:22

Em you look as if you are being experimented on by aliens. :)

Plan I turned my hair green once ( Henna goes wrong...). Not a nice shade.

Today I introduced 2 colleagues to Aldi. They wanted me to pick up butties from the local ASDA but I was going to the Aldi - so they both said they would try (giving me the I am only doing this to humour you look). 85p later & we have 2 v. happy peeps. Shame we move out of that office in 10 days.

Today was not a NSD - £10 groceries and my lunch. When I buy my lunch should make myself do the lunchbox calculation ….230 x £3 = £690pa. TAKE A PACK UP WOMAN!!!!!.

SnugglySnerd · 03/12/2019 18:32

Wrapping on thenitoning board is genius! I'm going to do that.

Nsd. Frustrating day though. Haven't got much done.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/12/2019 18:39

Totally saves your back snuggly. Most presents for and the bigger ones need the dining room table

Nsd today

Plancina · 03/12/2019 19:31

NSD for me today - DP has a job interview on Thursday as well so we are really hopeful, if he gets it he would start in January and it would make such a difference to us. We’ve both had sleepless nights worrying about money.
My last credit card is down to 2,100, hoping to clear it before the interest free period runs out. It’s my only debt apart from a student loan which comes out of my salary. once DP has a job we are hoping to buy a house (he will get a redundancy payoff which we will hope to use as a deposit), we would save so much money as mortgage would be around half the rent we pay now. Madness!

Everyone’s hair stories are cheering me up, I look like Morticia Adams - meant to go warm brown and it came out blue black! Am raging. It looks totally fake and also like I think I’m a 15 year old goth instead of a md 30s teacher 😂

SnugglySnerd · 03/12/2019 19:58

Oh dear. What did the kids at school say about having a goth teacher for the day?! I was quite gothic in my youth. I still wear lots of black.

ememem84 · 03/12/2019 20:38

Pink hair anyone?
