£pricey hair. I don’t even want to say how much it cost. But. I rarely go. It’ll be good for a few months. And I love it. So money well spent in my book.

ememem84 · 03/12/2019 20:40

Also, £750 back from Thomas cook for the flight deposit to Mexico. Wahoooo.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/12/2019 21:15

Looks lovely em

Unescorted · 03/12/2019 21:22

I quite fancy pink hair, but I need to look sober for work …

Triple cooked chips - better than the posh ones at the local gastro pub. The kids love me ;)

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 03/12/2019 22:20

I bet you look cool though plan.
Me too Snuggly and I still wear lots of black.

Yesterday was a LSD, £7.50 on juice, loo roll, and some snacks.
Today was a NSD.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 03/12/2019 22:22

Ohh love the hair em!

northender · 03/12/2019 22:36

Great colour Em. I fancy blue or pink streaks in my grey, but really need to retire first!
Sorry your back is bad again girlie
Good going with the credit card Plan
Feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment. I'm only just getting back to normal after being unwell, so still tired. Dd is quite demanding at times in an emotional way (hard to explain). Now is one of those times. GP thinks she likely has IBS which is in quite a bad flare up at the moment. I want to help her with trying to look at her diet but just haven't the energy as with something like this she is very intense. Ds needs regular prompts to take supplements & other regular meds. I'm not going to keep prompting him long term, but it is 6 months to A levels so for now I carry on.
Dh has been shortlisted for the job, but the emails went out on Thursday evening for interviews today & tomorrow. His email went to spam so he only found out last night, too late to reschedule work commitments. I can't understand giving 2 working days notice for interviews, unless there is someone internal, but this isn't the first time it has been advertised???
He is pleased to have been shortlisted and scored reasonably well on the behaviours so there are positives. Someone is calling him tomorrow morning to see whether anything can be arranged for an interview. So we'll see.
Sorry if I sound whingey, just one of those times. Will pick myself back up and get on with things.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 03/12/2019 22:57

north, its completely ok for you to feel a bit off Flowers, no need to apologise. Please remember to take care of you too.

Bornlazy · 03/12/2019 23:19

Have been reading but not commenting as I am still run ragged with MIL in hospital. That’s seven weeks tomorrow since she collapsed it has been a tough time and it’s far from over 😨

Plan so glad the lump is nothing serious. Fingers crossed your dp gets the job. I’ve only dyed my hair four times and it always comes out darker than I want it. I’m in denial about the need to start on the covering grey hair, never ending path.

North you always seem so dependable, but this infection seems to have knocked you for six, just make sure you take your time getting back into the one everyone turns to role.

Nice hair em

Christmas shopping is sporadic at best. I was totally underwhelmed with the Black Friday offers... don’t think I’ll bother next year

Lovemaltesers · 04/12/2019 03:30

Flowers north . That’s a lot going on all at once

Hope you are feeling better girlie

Sorry to hear MIL situation is unlikely to resolve soon born

Fingers crossed on DP and job plan. I’m sure the hair isn’t that bad really. Will it fade down? I know nothing about hair dye though!

Lovemaltesers · 04/12/2019 03:36

I am unreasonably pissed off about something I’ve been asked to do at work. On the face of it, I shouldn’t be in the interests of teamwork , but in context this small thing could become bigger and I don’t have time to do it nor want to. Hanging on to the end of term as I expect more will become clearer soon more people will have resigned .

Lovemaltesers · 04/12/2019 03:37

In unfrugal news, our credit card bill is looking horrific this month. We’ve only got a few more presents left to buy though.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 04/12/2019 09:09

Oh north I'm not surprised you're feeling overwhelmed, you've got lots going on.

Hair looks great em

Sorry to hear about your mil born

I'm okay, back still sore but feels more bruised today which is manageable, going to see a physio chap later who does acupuncture. I need to get back into doing Pilates as that def helped last time my shoulder was really bad.

Going to try and keep catching up on jobs today, get the house reasonably straight as will get the Christmas stuff out this wend I think.

Spent £56 in Aldi last night, that includes extras for Christmas and for a meal dd has to make at school (ended up pricey as she has a very set idea of what she wanted to make!)

ememem84 · 04/12/2019 10:09

Morning all. After yesterday I darent look at my credit card balance.

This morning I’ve dismantled washed and almost put tthe junperoo back together. Just waiting for the fabricy bits to dry.

Dh has gone for a haircut and Accupuncture and I’m at the acupuncturists at 1. Dd napping. Ds at nursery.

ememem84 · 04/12/2019 15:09

Jumperoo assemble!! Dd seems to like it

Have done some laundry some cleaning and been to Accupuncture. Where I had a nap.

Threads quiet today.

Saw back chap, £40 but it does feel better for it.

Another £40 on Amazon but that's the last of the Christmas shopping done.

SnugglySnerd · 04/12/2019 19:34

Cool hair Em.

Had to pay for a prescription today. It's the first one I've had since I was on maternity leave. I had actually forgotten you have to pay for them!

Otherwise nsd. I have a massive pile of books to mark but my team are playing and it's on Amazon Prime. I never get to watch them since we cancelled Sky because of the cost so I might just watch the footie and have a beer.

ememem84 · 04/12/2019 20:25

I forgot you guys have to pay for prescriptions. We don’t here. But we do have to pay for gp visits, out of hours visits, unnecessary a and e visits (ie for a cold....). £44 a go to see my gp. But. We can get a same day appointment. So swings and roundabouts.

I’m sitting here with a face mask on. A sheet mask. It’s all goopy and slimy. But promises a moisture plumped glowy face. We shall see.

I made the mistake of putting mask on before I finished my hot chocolate. Mask doesn’t have much of a mouth hole. So chocolate may have to be nuked in the microwave.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/12/2019 21:09

£21 Christmas lunch. £16 car park and £39 fuel but both can be claimed back.

North. That's as hell of a lot on your plate. Moan away.
Sorry about your mil born. Long term hospital visiting is grim.

Think she does like it em.
Pleased back is on the mend girlie

ChristmasSeacow · 04/12/2019 21:25

We get same day GP appointments here without fail Em, though I know it’s not like that everywhere.

Glad your back feels a bit better Girlie

I can’t actually remember the last time I posted. Spent the weekend baking For a charity bake sale and taking the kids to Kew for the light trail (was really spectacular... as was DD’s split lip when she fell over and landed hard on her face. We had to have her looked at by a medic there as it wouldn’t stop bleeding 🙄) . Then a long few days at work - am so tired.

Did some Black Friday shopping over the weekend. My credit card will also be a terrible sight to behold Blush. I am not far off done but really have no idea what to get DH.

ChristmasSeacow · 04/12/2019 21:35

And yes North, moan away! Sorry things are so tough for you and also with MIL, Born Flowers

Unescorted · 04/12/2019 21:40

One of those days.

Born huge hugs for you. It is draining to be supportive without any support for you.

North Can he not ask for the interview to be rearranged, we do that - mainly because we know the best candidates are the ones who are in demand.

I hear you about wanting to let kids go and thinking that it is only another few months. It is do frustrating. I am hoping that I am not the only person who gets Kevin the teenager just as they are about to go to uni.

SnugglySnerd · 04/12/2019 22:19

I hope they can reschedule the interview North.

Did my marking!

WreckTangled · 04/12/2019 23:05

I've never not got a same day gp appointment but I only go when I'm very ill and really need to be seen same day. Can't remember the last time I went though. I also get free prescriptions.

northender · 05/12/2019 00:15

Just popping in to say how lovely you all are, thank you for all your kind words. Dh & I have been to Kendal tonight to see Seth Lakeman (fabulously talented folk singer songwriter). It came at just the right time & we left the Dc to make their own tea, which they did & there were some leftovers for us when we got back. So, I feel better tonight than last & have a day off tomorrow which will be busy busy busy but hopefully will feel better at the end of it. Will catch up properly tomorrow.
