ChristmasSeacow · 24/09/2019 17:30

Driving licenses expire? 😮

Wolfcub · 24/09/2019 17:38

Yes Sea every ten years your photo licence must be renewed

CamdenTownie · 24/09/2019 17:56

What a miserable day! I can't quite believe how much rain there's been ☔️ I managed to stay dry with the combination of my packaway puffa jacket from Lidl and my tiny umbrella, was feeling quite smug!

Tuesday is my hectic day and I've just got home to find dd2 left her packed lunch ( that I was making at 5:30 am this morning) at home, and she didn't even bother to put it back in the fridge when she got in. She's also scattered various bits of uniform, books, shoes, bags and or kit all over downstairs, it just makes Me furious that they won't lift a finger, we've been all through why they need to pull their weight.

I've decided that from today everyone is responsible for their own lunch, if the want a sandwich they can make it themselves.

Sorry for the rant - I hope everyone else managed to stay warm and dry today.

Spends were low £2.70 on fruit in Waitrose, but £15 for Spanish tuition.

WreckTangled · 24/09/2019 18:20

Mine has to be renewed every three years and they have to send me a pack with all the paperwork in order for me to do it. They're supposed to do it automatically but didn't. I'm also annoyed with myself because I just expected them to do it so didn't check

Girliefriendlikescake · 24/09/2019 20:07

Em happy birthday to your little chap, can't believe he is 2 already! I bet he loved the cake.

How do you get the figures so perfect sea? My cakes always look very home made, they always taste okay though!!

Camden I feel your pain, my dd is an untidy, lazy little bugger at times 🙄 I've had a terrible headache this afternoon and could have really done with her help in sorting out the kitchen after work. Apparently that would be slave labour!!

Works been a bit of a struggle today and my head is pounding, wishing it was Friday already.

Nsd

WreckTangled · 24/09/2019 20:10

Eugh. Just found out someone I used to work with lost their wife to cancer. Two children under four. So so sad.

ibuiltahomeforyou · 24/09/2019 20:27

That is so sad @WreckTangled

SnugglySnerd · 24/09/2019 21:08

Oops Wreck! I did that a couple of years ago too. Luckily realised before I was fined. Sorry to hear your sad news.
Happy birthday Em's ds. Hope you have had a lovely day.

Also spent time in the new butterfly enclosure at the zoo. It was amazing. So calming. So beautiful.

Lovely photos em. Great cake too

CamdenTownie · 24/09/2019 21:48

Girlie-
My day has been about as good as yours then! Teens/tweens are far harder to deal
with than babies and toddlers!

Girliefriendlikescake · 24/09/2019 22:10

Yep camden, they're a complete pita, noted that when she got upset because she had backache this evening (period related) I got her paracetamol, a hot water bottle, rubbed her back and made her a hot chocolate 🙄

I got zero sympathy when I couldn't move my head as it was so sore, I'm assuming hoping at some point they turn from selfish teens to a caring young person!!

Lovely pics em glad you've had a good day.

CamdenTownie · 24/09/2019 22:27

Girlie is dd year 7? I noticed a massive change in attitude over the past few weeks since my youngest started senior school, saying that she's got a good teacher with her older sister who is seriously moody and will not do single thing to help anyone, but thinks we should drop everything and run to pick her up when she could get the bus but doesn't want to! Arrggghh

ememem84 · 25/09/2019 03:42

Windy as hell here right now. Ds is stirring. Dd has just fallen asleep on me mid bottle. Catface is freaking out. Dh is snoring his head off and I’m wide awake having read a theory that Mary poppies and pennywise the clown are the same species. Ffs. Why. Why did I read that.

Busy today. Taking Dd for her first round of jabs. Then appointment for me re mirena. Then photo shoot after 5. Might be rescheduled re weather though.

Should be nsd though.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/09/2019 08:11

Torrent of rain yesterday. Grey today. Nsd yesterday but will be spends today

Bornlazy · 25/09/2019 08:18

Ds1’s room Happier it’s very grey but he loves it especially the mirror to pose in front of. I will post pic of my room later once I’ve finally put away all my stuff.

Happierwithouthim · 25/09/2019 09:11

em fab happy family photos there & beautiful butterflies too
born that room is fab, I'm not usually an interiors person but with upcoming house move I'm taking a keen interest. Plus with decluttering h out of the house it has shown me that it wasn't all my fault and that I can maintain a clean/tidy-ish living space

girlie & camden dreading the teenage years with dd, she's 9.5 and definitely a tweenie already but I guess her moods are more caused by frustration with ds more than anything

CamdenTownie · 25/09/2019 09:24

Born - room looks great, is the mirrored wardrobe the one that took hours to build?

Happierwithouthim · 25/09/2019 09:52

Just got my littlewoods statement and realised I'd been charged interest, I forgot that the last items I bought weren't on buy now pay later interest free so I've cleared the total.

€38 from joint a/c for ds's county jersey
€44.51 from personal a/c for clarks cloudsteppers for next year, and some socks I bought back in April Grin

maddenlightfoot · 25/09/2019 18:44

Wreck so sorry to hear about your friend, how very sad for all involved, especially her little ones 😢

Born the room looks great! Very smart and grown up.

Camden and girlie what counts as a tween? Definitely starting to see some attitude from 7.5 yr old here!

Small spends today... needed to buy a few small reward type toys for the little ones - raised the charity shops for £5.50. And £1 on a soup at lunch.

Feeling really achey, pmt and so, so tired but dh having to work late. Will finally get a bath and bed (maybe even hot-worty and hot-choc too!) when I've put the kids to bed.

SnugglySnerd · 25/09/2019 19:55

Lovely photos Em. I love seeing how excited children are when they have their birthday candles!

Girlie by the time they leave secondary school they are usually quite considerate!

Nsd.

Girliefriendlikescake · 25/09/2019 19:56

Camden my dd is year 9 now, hormones and attitude def ramped up a gear in the last 18 months or so. Tweens for me were more 10-12yo but tbh dds always had it in her to an arsey madam when she wants to be 🙄 She can also be lovely, kind and thoughtful so I know it's in there somewhere!!

Ridiculously busy day today, had to drop the puppy at puppy day care for 8am, then straight into work which was teaching again (smaller groups so slightly less stressful!) drive home, got dd and the puppy and went straight to puppy training.

The puppy is knackered bless him!!

Spent £4.50 on a very nice lunch.

CamdenTownie · 25/09/2019 20:59

Girlie - dd2 is year 7 and I also have a dd who is year 9 (what was I thinking 🤔)and she is the one that we are basically walking on eggshells with all the time!

My boys were nowhere nears as much hard work.

Low spends today - just under a fiver in Lidl on bananas, Mac n cheese for lunch and a chocolate brownie mix for dd1 to make.

I keep
Looking at the Christmas thread but have resisted so far, just need to get through tomorrow as payday is Friday, then I can start all over again! Can't believe it's October next week.

Is everyone else at the end of the month money wise or have you had payday for September? How did everyone get on with budgets?
