Wreck can they process it if you cancel the electronic submission?

WreckTangled · 27/06/2019 17:59

No idea. Doubt it though they can't even do the basics it seems

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 27/06/2019 22:09

£6 something on bread, fruit and milk

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 27/06/2019 22:12

Oh and £4.71 on McDonald's for lunch, my bread was mouldy this morning!

Wreck that is so annoying!

ChristmasSeacow · 27/06/2019 23:11

Watched EWFL from last night, it made me cry! What a lovely family, but gosh that was a beige diet.

That’s very annoying Wreck. I wrote to someone senior in HR this week (after no response to my query a week earlier about whether I’d be paid this month ) and politely asked whether I could be paid before the end of July, and also (again) could they let me know my AL allowance as it wasn’t written in my offer letter and I’m not on AFC and so it is at trust’s discretion. I got a one line reply ‘I’ll try to find out’. Humph. I’ll be writing again tomorrow.

Made frugal chicken arrabiata with leftover roast chicken (a mn chicken it seems Wink) and had it with pasta and the end of a bag of salad and some sugar snaps. Was an nsd but I’ve just had to order a new gas regulator valve for our gas bbq for £10 because a spring sproinged out of the current one and it’s stopped working. I’m trying to decide whether to just make a giant paella or do a bbq for family gathering on Sunday but want to keep my options open while I dither! I’d have to go and buy bbq gas on Saturday though and it may be too hot to even move.

Oh, actually not quite an nsd anyway as I bought a pot of tea and a babyccino this morning - my day off with DD and we had a date with friends. Forgot about that. Was lovely though.

ememem84 · 28/06/2019 06:39

LUnch with colleague today. My treat. We haven’t lunched for a while and it’ll be nice to catch up properly.

It’s already 17 degrees here. Set to hit 32. I am actual going to melt today. But must not complain. Will let everyone else do that so cue lots of “it’s so hot” “I should have taken the day off” blah blah. “Yes you should have Pam so shut up and get on with stuff or bugger off”

Ds is awake. He was picked up early from nursery yesterday because he wasn’t himself. Nursery manager said he was fine but really sad and clingy. 😭 not himself at all. We think teef again. Probably the big teef. Waaaaaa. Poor baby.

He’s doing something with his toys which involves him saying “hold tight” (“oooooldiiiiiiite”) then I can hear them landing on the bedroom floor. 😂

Am out at works drinks tonight. Eeeeek!!! Going to have a lovely white wine spritzer and stay out late (8pm!!! 😱)

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/06/2019 06:58

I don't have as nice a day as em planned. Still full of cold and have a blessed barium swallow this afternoon so nil by mouth from 8 am

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 28/06/2019 07:34

Sea I can’t (actually I can) believe you haven’t been paid in that long. I think you are being remarkably patient I’d have gone nuclear by now

Life that sounds rubbish, hope it gets to the bottom of the issue though so you don’t have to have more of the same

Laputa, good name change although like Mammy you’ll end up being Your old name in my head forever

Em sounds like a good day planned

My feet and back are wrecked. Work event yesterday involved waking in heels (bad) and sitting in crap chairs (double bad). I have a blister the size of a pound coin underneath my foot

Pay day today. I have paid myself first. Big car repair bill next week though and not quite sure how I’m going to pay that.

Pilates and Brows/lashes this morning. Blood donor sesh this afternoon and a work conference in the middle

ChristmasSeacow · 28/06/2019 08:04

Life that does sound pretty rubbish!

Wolf I just DO NOT walk in heels any more. I really can’t! Annoyingly that means I have to carry work shoes everywhere though, and wear Fit Flop ballet flats as an acceptable middle ground if I get caught out! Most are very ugly but I found some that are okay. (In fact, I might buy a spare pair in the sale). My plantar fasciitis is soooooo much better these days and I think it’s Fit Flop shoes plus losing some weight. I am not messing with the winning formula and am taking extra good care of my feet these days!

Wfh today but need to do a small top up shop for diner tonight as I didn't do a proper shop last week so we’ve been limping along (didn’t have fridge space for DD’s party stuff plus a week of food). Ocado is coming tomorrow. It’s already at £100 and I haven’t added actual meals or the party food for this Sunday. It’s going to be expensive this week!

Happierwithouthim · 28/06/2019 09:45

Yesterday's spends were €9.90 on a bottle of wine visiting my friend to discover she doesn't drink wine anymore so now I've a nice bottle of barefoot Pinot Grigio for myself. Then €16.60 on takeaway for myself & dc. Ds ate a 9" pizza to himself in fifteen minutes Shock

Holding off on dog until after summer as wouldn't be fair on dog to have dc to play with every day for weeks & then an empty house.

WreckTangled · 28/06/2019 10:08

£65 Aldi
£17 Sainsbury's

But over budget annoyingly had to use some of my own money to top it up. Ffs.

WreckTangled · 28/06/2019 13:03

Meal plan:

Lamb kebabs with flatbreads
Pasta pesto (broccoli feta)
Pizza
Nachos
Quiche with new potatoes
Risotto (pea and mint)
Chicken/veggie burgers

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/06/2019 13:17

Will be going to Morrisons after hospital as it's right next door. Also a mooch around dunhelm which is on the other side. Camping this weekend so low shopping week as will eat out this weekend

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 28/06/2019 13:34

Moved my ISA after receiving a notification that my interest rate has dropped

MeadowHay · 28/06/2019 17:02

Hello! I have no idea what is going on. Has Em had her baby yet? I can't remember when the baby was due at all, time flies by and I can't remember when I last came on here!

Enjoying this gorgeous weather, DD is having a nap now so God only knows what time she will be going to bed tonight, and I'm sooo sleepy I could easily nap too but I guess I better start sorting our tea out soon, so no rest for the wicked. Had a sit down and an ice cream and a brew and I feel worse for it tbh, more sleepy!

Spent about £45 on clothes online for me today but I really needed them. Have hardly any 'summer' clothes. Last year I barely went out with newborn DD so it wasn't as a big a deal but now I need actual clothes!

MeadowHay · 28/06/2019 17:06

Seacow Is that the EWFL with the single dad? DH and I watched that together, we both got upset too. I'm glad they could help improve their diets but I did think I hope that he doesn't feel too guilty as a parent because he was doing a fab job, I mean yes they ate a lot of convenience food because he is a single parent to four children and it must be bloody hard!

ChristmasSeacow · 28/06/2019 17:29

Hi Meadow! Yes, that one. I definitely didn’t mean the comment about food as a criticism of him, he was doing an amazing job and his kids were lovely. Sometimes you’ve just got to get through... but great that they wanted to improve their diets, some kids won’t even try new food

How’s DD doing these days? Is the feeding /sleeping going better? At least it sounds as though you are getting out of the house more!

Topped up today in two different shops as Tesco metro was out of chicken thighs. £9 total. Just thought that a paddling pool would be a good idea tomorrow (we have a huge one but it takes forever to fill) so I’ve just bought a wee one for paddling, £8 on Amazon.

ememem84 · 28/06/2019 20:06

meadow hi!!!! I was thinking about you the other day. Was watching fleabag and the guinnea pig popped up. And I wondered how you were!!!

Nope haven’t had baby yet. A month to go. Am absolutely sweltering in the heat. Just home from work drinks. Had a white wine spritzer. Lots of ice. So so lovely.

I hope things with dd have improved.

You’re back at work yes? Hope you’re coping with it xxx

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/06/2019 20:23

£58 in Sainsbury on not sure what, £14 on food for brinner, £23 Primark.

Hey meadow nice to see you

RubySlippers77 · 28/06/2019 22:16

Seacow I love my Fitflops!! My trusty sandals broke a couple of weeks ago and I can't afford to replace them yet Sad they are £35 in the sale but I simply don't have it this month. Really annoys me when DP waffles on about us saving money and then spends it on rubbish, or a stag do, as it will be next weekend.....

£28 in Asda today on enough to get us through a few days. DP has eaten all the food I bought for his lunches for next week as snacks already. Up to him to replace that!

That EWFL quite upset me too, he was obviously doing his best; at least all his DC gave it a go though, DTS1 is very stuck in his ways and it's really hard to get him to even try anything new.

Em I am not envious of you being pregnant in this heat!! When I was pregnant I spent all summer at work lurking in the air conditioned office!

Girliefriendlikescake · 28/06/2019 22:48

Evening all, late sign in.

Work was okay today, feel like I didn't really achieve very much but hey ho. Dd ran two miles at school for race for life which was quite impressive in this heat! Need to gather up the sponsor money now.

We're dog sitting our friends dog tonight so have taken her for a long walk/swim along the canal this evening, such a gorgeous evening!

Gave dd some money for school earlier about £4 I think but no other spends.

Lovely to see you meadow.

Morning everyone. Back to reality today after a lovely holiday. Have a supermarket delivery coming today but it's just the basics as I didn't want to waste precious holiday time meal planning, so I will need to supplement it at some point, I might go to Lidl tomorrow.

Happierwithouthim · 29/06/2019 08:52

Yesterday I visited Dunnes using a €10 off €50 voucher and Tesco for the same.
Total spend €88.66 but that included a replacement kettle because ours gave up Sad

Dc were with their dad so I got shopping done in peace Grin

Girlie that looks like a lovely walk

Hi meadow

Enjoy camping life

Taytocrisps · 29/06/2019 10:55

We had a rude awakening at 7 a.m. by some very loud thunderclaps which set off the house alarm and caused the doorbell to ring. I was hoping to get lots of washing done today but we've had lots of rain so far and the sky is very grey.

'D'H moved a lot of his stuff last night and is taking the last of it today. My sister is coming up later to keep me company. It still feels a bit unreal. I suspect today will be a spendy day involving the purchase of wine and possibly a take away. I've already stocked up on a multi pack of Wispa bars Blush.

Tomorrow I want to do a stocktake and see exactly what's in the food presses, fridge, freezer etc. I've been doing the bare minimum in terms of housework in recent weeks so over the next week or two I want to blitz the house. There's a few bare patches on the walls where DH took down some pictures (I didn't want them) so at some point I'm going to choose new pictures to replace them.

Happierwithouthim · 29/06/2019 12:09

Tayto total opposite extremes in weather sun is absolutely splitting the stones here & I've not even thought of washing yet.
H used to always have it tied up on a Saturday but he recently bought his own so I'm not tied to waiting for it.
How's dd doing? Wine & takeaway well earned.
I'm going to implement tomm again now
