Happy birthday Cag’s dd.

Got home to find my annual loan statement posted through my letter box but the envelope had clearly been opened and the letter read. Not sure whether to report it to the bank or not.

WreckTangled · 26/06/2019 14:17

I contacted payroll and they're putting a request through. No one in my office new about doing that so thank you!

Girliefriendlikescake · 26/06/2019 14:33

I've been to town, went a bit mad in Boots buying curly girl approved products 😐 £34 in my defence I got loads for that and it will last me aggggggggges. Plus if it sorts my hair out money well spent!

£12 in Superdrug on a few bits.

£33 Morrisons bulk buying the bits I can't get in Aldi, this includes a huge box of persil which was on offer for £7.

£2.50 lunch

£2.50 from the green grocers on fruit.

Happy birthday to your dd cag love the pic of her and the house!

Lovemaltesers · 26/06/2019 18:53

Good news on the expenses wreck hopefully your manager will get a telling off too

Nothing much to say here. Plodding away until the weekend

Cagliostro · 26/06/2019 18:56

Rewatching EWFL as I’m bored. No more new episodes yet :(

NSD, yay! I woke up feeling a bit coldy so I dragged myself to the pool because the steam room always helps. Managed a longer swim than usual (not gonna lie it’s probably because I was on my own rather than with my very talkative friend 🙊😂) but the steam room was out of order so I tried the sauna instead.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Can’t believe she’s 12! She’s loving the echo dot which I got on sale (have put one for DS aside too until his birthday)

ememem84 · 26/06/2019 19:06

EWFL is tonight isn’t it?

£40 boots. I went in for dummies for ds - I swear we had about a million. But are down to 2. So needed to grab some spares. Whilst there I noticed smashbox had an offer £10 worth of points when you bought two things. I’ve been wanting to try their mascara for ages so picked one up and also a primer. Which is the best one I’ve ever used.

Got home to find I’ve got 4 mascaras in my stash. Oops. But I will use them. And unopened they don’t go off.

Ds so good tonight let me wash his hair without much fuss. We’re watching postman pat and having some milky in our jammies (both in jammies now). Then ds is going to bed and dh is making stir fry veggies and nooooooodles.

He’s outside at present battling the wind attending to our “Branchage” (bronkarge) essentially we have to trim the tree outside our front gate as it overhangs on a public road. Or face a fine of £150.

LivingInLaputa · 26/06/2019 19:56

OOOH em thanks you’re right yay! (Not sure how sad it makes me that I’m very excited about that but who cares 😂)

LivingInLaputa · 26/06/2019 19:57

Oops I meant to keep my old name till the next thread but oh well 🤦‍♀️

ememem84 · 26/06/2019 20:01

cag? That you?

LivingInLaputa · 26/06/2019 20:22

Shhhh I’m in disguise 😎

But yes 😂👋 decided I have had my name for too long.

Was not expecting that story about the EWFL family this week 😰

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 26/06/2019 20:41

Tonight’s family is lovely, I loved hope it’s not a cryday Friday

LivingInLaputa · 26/06/2019 20:51

Yes me too :o bless her.

DD got all excited to see lychee on there. It’s her favourite! Hardly ever manage to get them in the shops though (tinned ones are WRONG)

WreckTangled · 26/06/2019 21:06

You should watch the Mickey Flanagan EWFL sketch. Funny.

ememem84 · 26/06/2019 22:11

Oh I thought the family were lovely. How sad though!!! 😭😭

Dinner was green garden pasta in the ends. Courgettes sugar snaps and basil from the garden. Yay. With beans and mushrooms and garlic. And spaghetti. Oooh and silver beet.

LivingInLaputa · 26/06/2019 23:28

Oh yes I think girlie shared that sketch a couple of threads back :o

I also love the Horrible Histories Masterchef sketches purely because of Jim Howick’s impression of Gregg! “I’M SHOUTING FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER” :o

Tesco ordered. Including Wensleydale and red grapes 😋

RubySlippers77 · 26/06/2019 23:41

Rejoining as I need July to be an especially frugal month..... apologies for going AWOL for a while!!

em I am in awe at your garden veg - we've only had a few strawberries and raspberries so far, and DTS2 scoffed the lot Confused

Haven't watched EWFL yet or even caught up on Killing Eve, just don't get time to watch TV any more. Must start shopping at Aldi again - EWFL does inspire me in that way - but I tend to chicken out and go to Asda as our local Aldi has a tiny car park and is a nightmare when you have DC in tow too. I justify it by buying the 'specialist' products we need from Asda that Aldi doesn't have - lactose free milk, goats butter etc - but would be useful to do my main shop at Aldi again.

It's been a skint June after a visit to see my DP (they live 200 miles away, we make it a holiday and stay for a week) and next month we go away at the end of the month for a week too. That's all paid for but DP won't get paid till after we return, hence we have to make his July salary (paid next week) last until we get back, including spending money. Which would be doable - cutbacks, quiet weekends etc - except he's going on a stag do in Spain next weekend and will no doubt spend £££! He's been in an absolutely foul mood for days now, I've kept quiet and avoided him in the evenings, but tonight he spoke to me for all of two minutes before having a go. No idea what's wrong but it's easiest to keep out of his way for a while.....

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 26/06/2019 23:50

Cag, it is going to hard calling you anything else! Hope dd had a great birthday xx

Would you prefer Living, Lil, Laputa or Lap?

EWFL was really good! I'm amazed they saved that much! My Ds2 watched it and wants to try a few of the recipes, so that's good.

NSD

Quick check in to say fab news wreck glad you've got it sorted. Love these threads.

ememem84 · 27/06/2019 06:48

What I do like about this series of EWFL is that all the families seem to have really embraced it.

ruby we’d have had enough strawberries corn bowl by now if dh hadn’t kept picking them off the plant and giving them to ds! I’ve had 2 I think. Delicious. But 2!!!!!

Still windy as hell here. According to the fb crazies the boats from Guernsey are cancelled today. Which means no one to look after ds tomorrow as dparents are over there having a short break. Or potentially a longer than they intended break! So I might have an impromptu day off tomorrow!

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/06/2019 06:56

£17 on soft fruit yesterday. Nsd planned today as still full of cold so WFH. The sun is out though.
Ooh Cag, that's a move that's mixed things up and kept us on our toes.
Hey ruby, welcome back. Sorry things are tight. And DH? Dp? Is being an arse. On the app so can't look back until I've posted

LivingInLaputa · 27/06/2019 07:58

Laputa would be a good shortening, thank you! 😀

Yeah it’s odd trying a new name 🙈 but it’s been far too long really

Happierwithouthim · 27/06/2019 15:12

Ruby has your dp said what's up with him?

Em I never remember you talking about gardening but all the produce sounds fab

We've been out today taking df's dog for a walk, my dc need a dog, would be so good for them. We lost both ours last year. I've been putting it off until we've a new house but no sign of ours to sell so now thinking maybe after the summer I'll get one. Hmm

Nsd today & yesterday spent €10 on stamps posting thank you cards for DD's communion
€11 on tues eve on socks for ds & food for us including a very nice ready meal for 299 cals in Tesco, chicken curry was yum 😋

ememem84 · 27/06/2019 17:04

happier Dh has done most of the gardening! I’ve just supervised! Haha.
