Rose what a difficult situation. I've no words of wisdom but have some Flowers, Wine and Cake.

Seacow your poor DH! By all accounts, kidney stones are incredibly painful.

Beautiful daffodils Wreck

Your cherry tree sounds lovely Girlie. Sounds like your DD appreciates her amazing Mum.

em nice presents too but I guess you'll have to wait a while before you can indulge.

ememem84 · 31/03/2019 14:46

tayto yep. The sipsmith is specifically marked to not be opened before dd arrives! Haha. The seedlip can be drunk now though as it’s non alcoholic. It’s actually really nice.

We’ve just got back from swimming. Dh and ds were the only ones in the class so I was able to take some pictures to send to mil. (Because I do that now 😊)

northender · 31/03/2019 16:17

Happy Mother's Day one and all.
Born that was a dramatic effort with breakfast!
Wreck I love daffs.
Unescorted glad I'm not the only one. How you describe your dd is just like me.
Dd rang to wish me happy mothers day. Ds made me a sausage sandwich and gave me a card!

WreckTangled · 31/03/2019 16:52

Dd has created her own menu for me. She's been excited about it all day and is making me order from it like I'm at a restaurant Grin dh is in the kitchen assisting.

Had a lovely day, went into town with dd and got her some new clothes for spring/summer in New Look, spent £50 also got two pairs of flip flops from Animal for £23 (buy one pair get another half price.) just need to get dd a new swim cossie and she is done for summer.

Had afternoon tea at some nice tea rooms, (mum paid) she liked the bits we had got her. She is off on her epic walk next wend, going to be lost without her for 6-8 weeks!!

Also got some make up in Boots £23 and we got a free gift of more make up with that!

Went into EE and moaned about the ridiculous price increase and have got it back down to £25 a month (they'd shoved it up to £37!!)

Girliefriendlikescake · 31/03/2019 19:11

Oh and just spent £30 on Amazon, oops... oh well have ordered a recipe book that is supposed to be a very healthy diet book (by a chap called John McDougall) am hoping will help with my hiatus hernia, also bought 150 embroidery threads to keep dd busy over Easter as she is now all about making friendship bracelets and a new phone case as mine is rubbish.

Will be on a spend diet between now and our holiday in two weeks now!!

Have just finished off my mother day chocolates and am feeling pretty sick Envy was worth it thought Wink

SneakyGremlins · 31/03/2019 19:15

Both my pairs of shoes are very holey but Argos sells a good looking pair for £20!

Question - my current shoes are a size 8, the next size up is 9 - 8 has room in the toes but no room width wise but I worry 9 would be too big! Any advice? They don't come in half sizes I don't think Sad

Wolfcub · 31/03/2019 19:40

9 will be too big Sneaky and you will end up with sore feet and turned ankles

SneakyGremlins · 31/03/2019 19:40

Thanks wolf! I'll get the same size I have now then Smile

Taytocrisps · 31/03/2019 20:46

I love the menu Wreck Smile

Girlie that was a lovely afternoon. Where is your DM off to (if it's not too outing)?

I've been a bit confused about the time all day because the kitchen clock is still showing the old time. It was great having a longer evening though.

Girliefriendlikescake · 31/03/2019 22:11

She is doing the Camino trail tayto

Yes get the size 8 sneaky

The clock change is very confusing, I reckon I'll be knackered tomorrow but yes love having the lighter evenings.

Bornlazy · 31/03/2019 22:43

Sneaky I didn’t know that Argos sold shoes. You learn something new every day 😜

Wreck your dd has very nice handwriting. What age is she again?

Girlie glad you got the EE price reduced. It’s a liberty when they hike the prices like that. My mobile phone is due to go up £4 a month but it’s unlimited everything so I will probably end up paying it as I sometimes use it as a hotspot.

Had a lovely mother’s day dh made dinner and we had my dm over. Finished the day off with Line of Duty.

ChristmasSeacow · 31/03/2019 23:10

That menu is so cute! What did you choose Wreck?

My dcs both ate cous cous tonight - imagine the thrill!

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/04/2019 06:32

Very spendy weekend but totally worth it.
Still full of cold though. It's not shifting from my sinuses.

WreckTangled · 01/04/2019 06:33

She's 8 born

Sea that's great! Ds will only eat the ready made couscous from Lidl (nowhere else) and dd only plain. I chose pasta pesto and pancakes! (Ds was distraught when I said I might have fruit!)!!

northender · 01/04/2019 06:42

Love that menu wreck. Dd used to do things like that & I've kept them!
Life hope it clears up soon, blocked sinuses are horrible.
Work today & then ds is back at hospital for his eyes. They look the best they have done in months so fingers crossed. Hoping for a low spend week.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/04/2019 06:58

Who is on bulb for power. Do you want to pm me a referral code thingy?

Wolfcub · 01/04/2019 07:23

Life I am, will on you now

moimichme · 01/04/2019 07:56

Happy mother's day to all! Smile

We had a lovely meal out at the posh pub (several nice vegan options, even a berry crumble and soya yoghurt for dessert! Shock) and I also got some fancy chocolates, daffodils grown and decorated in a pot by ds, and a beautiful handmade card. Smile

Only slightly spoiled by the fact 26-month-old ds has decided to hold on to me with his teeth when breastfeeding for the past 2 weeks. Without going into details, it's been tough going and the weaning process has sped up a lot vs. the previous pace. Sad But he still loves having milk before falling asleep and I'm not sure soya milk etc. will do the trick! He can fall asleep without, but it's generally harder for us all. At least we made it to 2 years, so we didn't have to supplement with cow's milk. I haven't decided yet whether to stop him altogether now, but it's going that way...doesn't help that I'm up against a lot of big stressful deadlines at work and feeling like a colossal failure bad mother.

Meal plan for this week:
Veggie chilli with rice
Stir fry with fancy tofu and rice
Rice courgette pepper + vegan sausage casserole
Veggie tofu pasta (cooked by DH)
Refried beans and Spanish rice
Leftover homemade curry with rice (from DH)
Homemade pizza or takeaway!

Happy Monday, everyone. Grin

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 01/04/2019 12:07

Moi, can you please share your veggie tofu pasta recipe?
Thank you

Thatsnotmybaby · 01/04/2019 15:27

Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day.
Yesterday was NSD for me.

Spending some time today clearing out and organising my food cupboards. I'm being unfrugal in the sense that I am throwing unused items and half empty packets out, but I'm hoping that tidy cupboards and being able to see what's actually there will stop me buying things I already have.

Thatsnotmybaby · 01/04/2019 17:37

Spends today:
£7 supermarket on milk and bread (DD is dairy free, so milk is more expensive).
I've had a busy few days with DC, I'm really looking forward to going to work tomorrow and sitting at my desk in peace Grin

WreckTangled · 01/04/2019 18:05

£31 swimming lessons

LonelyOversharer · 01/04/2019 18:14

Um, moi can I just point out that bf your ds to 26 months is absolutely NOT colossaley failing him!! It's bloody brilliant, and do not beat yourself up that he is bitey at 2! The weaning a toddler from the breast took me 3 sleepless days. They forget very quickly! Give yourself a break Flowers

I have not been frugal, but have been reading. Nothing crazy, but have had a yarn blip.

Lovemaltesers · 01/04/2019 18:48

I only managed 6 weeks moi, I'm in awe at 2 years!
