Cloudy but relatively bright here. It has been lovely for the last couple of weeks, getting things line dried. I'm going to try today, but there's no breeze so we'll see how I get on. Spinning them out first really makes a difference.
Work has been better this week & I had a really positive appraisal with my manager yesterday. You don't always appreciate what you have achieved when you are focussing on what you haven't or can't.
On Friday I'm off to Switzerland to a friend's 40th birthday party! I and the friend I'm going with are trying to do it as frugally as we can. It's mostly paid for now & the party is byo for the bar, so that will be a duty free contribution. At least it avoids Swiss bar prices. It feels very extravagant to be doing it and the money would be handy to go into the garden and driveway fund, but it'll be a great experience.
Dd is in Germany on her exchange trip so it is peaceful here.
Going to spend the afternoon doing more sorting and decluttering. Seeing friends tonight.

Girliefriendlikescake · 30/03/2019 14:18

Rose that sounds really tough, does there come a point where the police will have to come and remove him or you can change the locks when he is out? He sounds awful.

Not had a bad morning here, dd had a good riding lesson, the lady who teaches her is having to stop lessons so dd only has one more lesson there Sad will have to look around for somewhere else now.

I paid £40 for dd to do a trek over Easter.

The carpet cleaner man has just gone, living room carpet has come up like new and looks fab, that was £35.

Have decided I will give dd £10 a month allowance but have explained to her that she needs to save some of that for holidays/birthdays/Christmas etc and that if I feel she hasn't helped me out much around the house or has been generally rude/moody it will be halved to £5. She is currently hoovering the stairs...... Wink

Going to pop to a garden centre in a bit, I have some vouchers and want to look for a miniature cherry tree for the garden.

Thatsnotmybaby · 30/03/2019 14:46

I'm sorry to hear you are going through such a tough time @RoseMartha.
Spends today:
£14 soft play.

DH has taken DC to PIL so I need to crack on with some housework, my cleaner couldn't come this week although it was her week to come so I have lots to do!

ememem84 · 30/03/2019 16:10

We’ve been to the garden centre. Bought some strawberry plants, a lavender, courgette, chilli a pepper and some salad plants.

Also seeds for basil mint and coriander some compost and a door mat. £50 in total. Ish.

Dh and ds have dropped me back off at home (I’ve planted the seeds) and they e gone to the shops. Something tells me that dh forgot it was mother’s day tomorrow. Just a hunch.

I’m sat outside on a mat with catface. We don’t have any garden furniture yet.

Catface is a bit of a wussy because he may keeps flipping in the wind and she keeps jumping.

RoseMartha · 31/03/2019 00:08

@Girliefriendlikescake @Thatsnotmybaby
It is dire. Yes I have had to contact them but they havent been round. I can go through the court to get him out but cant afford it. Have been looking in to moving to rented but not so straightforward when you part own and on low income.
I am divorcing him for unreasonable behaviour so I tell myself why would he suddenly be reasonable about things especially when he promised me he would be as difficult as he could!

Spends
£10 at kids attraction.

ChristmasSeacow · 31/03/2019 07:37

That does sound very stressful Rose Confused

Had a lovely evening out last night for friend’s Birthday. However, DH has had abdominal pains all through the night and they’ve got worse. We are now in A&E waiting to be seen. He’s someone who didn’t go to the doctor at all for a good 20 years so I know he must be worried. Hopefully it’s just a bad reaction to the food or something

WreckTangled · 31/03/2019 07:39

Oh no sea hope he's ok!

Rose that sounds really shitty. Hope things get sorted soon

Wolfcub · 31/03/2019 07:45

Happy mother’s day frugaleers Flowers

Wolfcub · 31/03/2019 07:47

Oh good grief Sea, I hope dh is ok and you get home soon

ememem84 · 31/03/2019 07:53

Oh goodness sea I hope dh is ok! Xx

Ds slept in until 7. Which is a gift in itself. 😀

Swimming with him today. Maybe garden centre to fetch a compost bin (we didn’t think it’d fit in the carbwith all three of us yesterday so if it’s open dh is going to go grab it).

And maybe some planting of new things in pots. Or I might head to the stables and pick up a bucket of poop from the ponies to dig into the beds. #ilikegardening

ChristmasSeacow · 31/03/2019 09:19

And the verdict is.... kidney stones. Very painful, by the state of DH, but not life-threatening. He needs a scan to see the extent /treatment

WreckTangled · 31/03/2019 09:47

Sea my dad has suffered with kidney stones for years. Extremely painful. He's even had them go up and pull them out, lasered, operated on etc. You name it.

Well I've got home from spinning to party poppers, a bacon sandwich, daffs and soon a treasure hunt for my gift Grin

WreckTangled · 31/03/2019 09:47

Daffs

Oh no seacow. Hope they can treat him quickly

Sounds awful rose, I hope he leaves soon Thanks

£25 yesterday on DDs haircuts and tip

RoseMartha · 31/03/2019 09:49

Thank you ladies.
Sea hope he is ok? Any news? 🤗

Girliefriendlikescake · 31/03/2019 10:03

Happy Mother's Day!! There are some awesome mums on this thread who inspire me every day, I hope you're all being spoilt!

Rose that sounds unbearable, how much would it cost to change the locks when he is out? I'd do it and leave his stuff bagged on the drive way.

Sea i had gallstones and the only thing that took the edge off was pethidine!! I hope they've given him some decent painkillers and told him to go back if pain gets worse/he develops a fever/ isn't weeing much.

Em sounds like you've got the gardening bug!! I warn you plant buying is very addictive 😁 I got our compost bin off a fab buy and sell page for £15 so might be worth checking if you can get a second hand one.

Dds done well here with a beautiful handmade card complete with a fantastic poem that made me cry a bit, she also got me my favourite chocolates and a smelly candle. I've just had breakfast in bed as well, she's a good girl bless her.

I ended up getting a miniature cherry 🍒 tree yesterday, it cost £48 but I had £40 worth of vouchers so actual cost £8, also got some farmers eggs and some root stuff for the tree £4.

Spent the afternoon putting the tree in, I love it 😍

Unescorted · 31/03/2019 10:12

ouch sea everyone I know who has had them have said they hurt like a hurty thing.

Thanks for posting the flap jack recipe - I need something that is easy to make and easy to transport on my bike tomorrow. One of my colleagues is popping in on Monday after being off ill since Feb. I want to encourage them to come back because I miss having them about.

rose he is doing you a favour by daily reminding you that you are absolutely doing the right thing.

North I get empathy fatigue with dd sometimes. She uses me as a sounding board to unravel her day. All I want to do is take a moment to unwind myself. I feel bad when I stop listening.

Happierwithouthim · 31/03/2019 10:14

Happy Mother's Day one & all x

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/03/2019 10:14

Happy Mothers day!
Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Oh sea that sounds awful for your DH, hope he has some decent pain relief.

Rose I hope things improve soon.

ememem84 · 31/03/2019 10:47

So. A rather extra balloon, some seedlip “gin” and some sipsmith proper gin from ds catface and dc2. Apparently I’m going to need it.

Dh made shakshuka for breakfast.

Catface went for a proper explore in the garden. We didn’t half paint the shed btw it was like that when we moved in. There must have been a tree or something in front of it...!

I apparently made a seed potting faux pas yesterday. I put all the seeds for the mint basil and coriander in the pots. Didn’t read the instructions and therefore didn’t know I wasn’t meant to. Oopsy.

girlie hadn’t thought to look second hand actually and coincidently an af has popped up on local fb selling page for compost bin and it’s only £5. Mentioned it to dh.

I found it super soothing gardening. The plants weren’t too expensive. 4 x pre started veggie ones for £10. At least I don’t think that’s expensive? Having never bought plants before...

We do need to spend at the garden centre though. Barbecue, table and chairs and dh wants a fire pit. We have zero garden furniture. So it is necessary.

I have a feeling that the prison here also makes garden furniture. So might see if we can get one from there. I know they used to... mum and dad had a picnic style table from there for years and it was well made and lasted ages. Like 20 years.

ememem84 · 31/03/2019 10:47

sea poor dh. I hope he’s ok soon xx

AdoraBell · 31/03/2019 12:07

Hope everyone has a good Mother’s Day 💐

Bornlazy · 31/03/2019 13:41

Happy Mother’s Day everyone 💐

DH gave me the fright of my life this morning as he fell down the stairs when he was bringing me my breakfast in bed 😱 Thankfully he is ok and miraculously neither the cup ( my favourite one) or plate smashed. The moral of that story is don’t wear loose fitting slippers going up or down stairs 😉

Sea I hope your DH is feeling better soon, that sound painful.

Taytocrisps · 31/03/2019 13:49

Happy Mother's Day to all the fab mothers on this thread. DD made me a lovely card - you open it up and then you open it up again and then again etc. Very clever! I was just telling someone in work during the week that I miss the homemade cards from school. I also got a lovely bracelet and some chocolates. And I've had a few cups of coffee made for me.

We were going to call to see MIL but she's gone out for the day. So we're having a quiet day at home. DH is going to put together DD's storage unit. We're getting a take away from the Thai van later.
