Hope the calculator is wrong, Wolf.
Was a NSD.
Am knackered so will be going to bed soon.

ChristmasSeacow · 27/03/2019 20:47

What’s changing to make it go down Wolf? That does sound a lot when things are so tight for you anyway.

Great news about part time Em. The aalary diff takes a bit of getting used to but it’s such a relief not to be in the hamster wheel all week - less stress for the whole family.

£1.50 on milk and sugar snap peas today plus £50 to top up my Oyster card (business expense). Im usually in the office on Thursdays but not going in tomorrow as I have no meetings except a couple of phone ones. So may as well wfh!

Wolfcub · 27/03/2019 20:50

Sea that’s what I can work out. The tax free allowance goes up. The tax bracket increases and the wage stays the same so how does the take home reduce. I really do hope it’s wrong but I tried four or five different calculators - all have slightly different figures but all less than current take home

Wolfcub · 27/03/2019 20:55

Can’t work out not can

Cagliostro · 27/03/2019 21:07

I would have a look at ticket to ride, indigo, dragonwood, kingdomino and marrakech, see if any of those grab you elven :)

Happierwithouthim · 27/03/2019 21:55

Life GrinGrin what protein bars did you get? Em will enquire about the makeup Grin

I do 46 hours + per week but finish early on thurs it's invaluable having the time with dc & we've breakfast together fri morns too Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/03/2019 06:42

I got 4 of the peanut and caramel fulfil bars from Holland and Barrett. Pricy but trying to make my of track eating a bit more on track.

Max factor is 342 in superdrug. Concealer, mascara and free lippy as didn't need a third thing. Garnier BB as less that 1.2 price. Bogof sure roll on.
Max factor make up really suits me, not that I wear much.

WFH today, nsd planned. Except £40 hair which should have been yesterday but I forgot

grannycake · 28/03/2019 08:20

Wolf long term lurker here. Are you in an auto enrolment scheme for your pension? If so, the % you pay has a big jump from April 1st and it could be this. Similar to when my pension contributions jumped when they rejigged the teachers pension

WreckTangled · 28/03/2019 08:27

I thought my pension would be going up but I can't find anything on it. In fact the only thing I found said that nhs employee contribution was staying the same but employer contribution is going up.

Happierwithouthim · 28/03/2019 08:31

They're nice life

Happierwithouthim · 28/03/2019 08:41

They're lower in protein than other protein bars though, the choc orange one is lush. Protein Bars are expensive in UK, I can normally get a carb killa for €2 here, full price is €2.45 and fulfil are often on offer in Mr Price or Dunnes Stores

Happierwithouthim · 28/03/2019 08:48

Those with babies might be able to advise me where's best place to get good quality bandana bibs, this is what my SIL has suggested for my niece's birthday present so I want to get good ones Smile

Happierwithouthim · 28/03/2019 09:01

YNAB Referal Link Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/03/2019 09:04

I thought pension jump too wolf. Or ni.

Which have the best protein happier? Carb killer?
They are a fortune here. I usually try and go to b&m or on line. Not that I eat them much but I'm taking some for the weekend and to feed my cold instead of chocolate peanut butter brownie.

Thatsnotmybaby · 28/03/2019 10:51

Yesterday was NSD for me, not for want of trying though, the Next website just wouldn't process my order Grin. Will try in store over the weekend.

Thatsnotmybaby · 28/03/2019 10:57

Do any of you know anything about Playmobil? I want to order DS a fire engine set for his birthday in June; Amazon have a new version and an older version which is £20 cheaper,
I can't decide which one I should go for Confused.

Elven · 28/03/2019 11:05

Playmobil is fab - great quality and DS will still go back to his sets at age 8. I bet the old set is great, can you link to them both?

ememem84 · 28/03/2019 11:54

happier jojo maman had some which were okfor ds but I bought loads from amazon.

You could try 10 magnolia lane though (I think they have an Etsy store). They’re hand made etc.

Elven · 28/03/2019 12:43

Thanks for the games recommendations Cag, I'll have a look at them 🙂.

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/03/2019 13:12

Re Playmobil. Register with the Playmobil website and you get a one use 20% off voucher.
Are you likely to want to add a remote control as the new one has that option. Otherwise you get one more person but you can buy people as spare parts from Playmobil UK. Whose customer service is awesome.
I love Playmobil. Lots of small parts though.

Happierwithouthim · 28/03/2019 13:54

Just saw some nice Maxomorra ones on yesbebe and some of them have 40% off so I might order from there, I've a small discount code too.

life carb killa and phd smart are my go to ones for higher protein

ChristmasSeacow · 28/03/2019 16:33

Happier if you’ve not already bought some, have a look at funky giraffe bibs. They do good offers on bundles and you can choose from a huge selection.

Working in Costa today, hiding from DD who is home with DM Grin

ememem84 · 28/03/2019 16:39

I loved playmobil when I was a kid. We had loads! Hopefully Dm has kept it...!

Thatsnotmybaby · 28/03/2019 16:41

Thanks for the Playmobil advice. The ones I am looking at are
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Playmobil-5362-Action-Ladder-Lights/dp/B00IF1VS7U/ref=sr11_1?keywords=Playmobil+fire&qid=1553790926&s=gateway&sr=8-1
And
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Playmobil-9463-Toy-Multicolor/dp/B079N37M6C/ref=dpobbimagetoyy
_
And then there is this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Playmobil-9464-City-action-Engine/dp/B079MNQTNZ/ref=srr_130?keywords=Playmobil+fire&qid=1553791069&s=gateway&sr=8-30, too many choices!

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/03/2019 17:47

So the bottom one doesn't have the cherry picker thing. And it's a new one. And not available until April I don't think.

Middle one has the option of remote control (RC) and is the new one and is not available until April.

The older on is no longer available from play mobile that I can see.
Honestly I don't think it really matters tbh. Does DC prefer the engine or the figures.
My DC preferred people rather than the accessories/ vehicles.
