LSD
£3 on some snacks, it was ds2 parents evening so had to take supplies as had dd2 with me.
Parents evening went great, ds is doing really well.

Girliefriendlikescake · 26/03/2019 21:51

Dd isn't phased by heights at all whereas I am terrified of them! It's so strange having a dd who is so different to me, although I do sometimes catch glimmers of me when she is being stubborn 😉

I finally decided to let dd watch Stranger Things and she is hooked! She hasn't been too scared by it at all, unlike me!!

Had a busy day at work and dd had a riding lesson after school so I picked up some chips for tea £3, stopped at the co op on the way home to get some yellow sticker bargains. Did well got 3 loaves of bread and some rolls for £1!

ememem84 · 26/03/2019 21:54

Nsd here. Wahoooo.

Gym this evening. My trainer worked me hard. I had a great time. Met Dh and ds on the green above the car park (5 min walk from my gym). They were busy chasing birds...🤷‍♀️😂

ememem84 · 26/03/2019 22:10

Oooh and good news yesterday. As of January when I go back to work after maternity leave for dd, I’ll only be working 4 days. Wahooo. Friday’s off. I am still in shock a bit because I can’t believe they said yes! But. The difference this will make! 😀😀

Cagliostro · 26/03/2019 22:30

Yesssss em! Fantastic! Shows how much they value you and want to keep you, too ❤️

Trampolining definitely caught up with me today :o I had a nap.

Lovemaltesers · 27/03/2019 06:06

I am so pleased for you em! And the fact they have already agreed it takes such a lot of worry away for you

Still feeling ropey. And work has been challenging in itself without feeling ill and will continue for the foreseeable future. On the plus side I have six working days left until the Easter holidays not that I'm counting

WreckTangled · 27/03/2019 06:28

That's great em I found working five days too tough with the dc. I couldn't keep up with anything at home.

Should be a nsd here just work then I think after school we will walk up to the farm to see if there's any lambs yet.

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/03/2019 06:30

That's great news em.
Full of cold here. Also on count down to Easter but haven't actually sorted childcare

ememem84 · 27/03/2019 06:38

😀 it’s going to be so helpful. I don’t yet know the terms of my reduced hours as am waiting for a letter to set these out. Although I imaging my salary will drop to what it was pre Payrise and obviously holiday allowance will drop too.

I specified that I’ll be flexible and can come in on my day off if required to cover team absences given enough notice (ie holidays) or if client needs dictate. I can ask dparents to have dcs or dh can take a day.

It’ll mean I get to spend more quality time with dcs. And maybe get things more organised. maybe

I’ve completed a form for dd to reserve a nursery place for January 2020 (!?) at ds’ nursery. Had to miss off most sections other than name “Baby Surname!” And days we wanted her to attend. So they’ll hold the place until September. At which point we’ll have to actually complete it and then send money to formally reserve the place.

Things are falling into place.

I’m so glad they agreed it. We needed to know what I was doing work wise so we could sort nursery. I explained this to work and it’s actually easier for them too. They know what’s happening. They know there's no uncertainty re me coming back.

Today I have to walk to my dr at lunchtime to pick up a prescription. And that’s my only job.

Wolfcub · 27/03/2019 06:40

Brilliant news Em

Life and Love feel better soon

Life have you looked at Keep Active for Easter childcare?

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 27/03/2019 06:48

Great news em

Gws, life and love

Should be a NSD today.

We have parent conference's today at work, so will be extra hard as most of the key person's will be off the floor.
I just hope everyone else turns up for work!
Have a good day all.

Rightwayup · 27/03/2019 06:55

Been far too spendy recently. Payday Friday so will sort myself out over the weekend and back on it monday. Aptly 1 April

Cagliostro · 27/03/2019 08:50

Elven any games you all enjoy/hate already? What kind of stuff is he into?

Feeling a bit crappy this morning so not sure what we are doing

ememem84 · 27/03/2019 08:59

Also frugalness today... laundry out on the washing line by 730! Sunny all day! So taking full advantage! Xx

Bornlazy · 27/03/2019 09:38

That’s great news em. You will be able to relax a bit now you know the plans are in place.

Happierwithouthim · 27/03/2019 10:16

Em fantastic news Grin
Girlie we forget unfortunately that our dc are a product of both parents & sometimes nature over nurture prevails. I can see that ds is more like me than dd & that dd is like her older sister in some respects

Yesterday I spent €2 on protein bar, €30 on gas ( lasted 40% longer than any other tank has HmmSmile) €50 at beauticians

Wolfcub · 27/03/2019 10:52

Hmm so according to all the online tax calculators I can find my take home pay is actually due to go down rather than up when the new tax year comes in. Hmm

ememem84 · 27/03/2019 13:08

Oh bugger wolf

Nice lunch. I’ve been for a huge walk and have picked up my prescription (£5) and popped into dunelm for tea towels, pegs and bubble mixture (£7.41)

Also sandwich (chilli chicken and cucumber) and a Fanta £4.

Happierwithouthim · 27/03/2019 14:44

wolf do you get credits for being a single parent and reduced council tax ?

Wolfcub · 27/03/2019 16:24

Happier I get reduced council tax but that’s it, I’m not entitled to any benefits. I am hoping the calculator is wrong but a month is a long time to wait to find out if I’m going to be short - and it’s by at least £100 according to the calculator so not small potatoes.

Happierwithouthim · 27/03/2019 16:50

I was luckily enough last year to qualify for a single parents tax credit & got a rebate, it's worth about €35 a week to me, when I get sorted with house etc I'm going to put it aside

Wow that's a lot of money to be down

WreckTangled · 27/03/2019 17:02

Hopefully the calculator is wrong wolf

We've been cuddling rejected lambs 😍

Elven · 27/03/2019 18:03

Cag, he likes Labyrinth, Cluedo, Monopoly, and Woolfy. He's probably not quite at the good loser stage yet 😄😬.

He's got the 7 dragons card game as well - he likes it, but it's quite complicated.

Girliefriendlikescake · 27/03/2019 18:27

Thats rubbish wolf fingers crossed its wrong.

Jealous of the lamb cuddling wreck!!

Thats great news about the 4 day week em I do 4 days and find its enough, I can't imagine ever going full time tbh!!

Work was not too bad for a change today and dd had a good day at school so thats all good. have been trying to help dd with her homework and as usual it ends in a row Hmm I honestly don't know how you do it Cag because dd hates me teaching her anything. If I point out she has misspelled a word for example she gets really Angry its very frustrating.

Anyway payday today, checked my account and my pay is down I think for some reason my millage hasn't gone through Hmm so will have to sort that out tomorrow. Its going to be a shit month money wise though.

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/03/2019 19:31

Ah that's tough wolf and not an insignificant amount. Fingers crossed the calculator is wrong.

LSD on drinks on an away day that wasn't catered and coffee for dh.
Actually that's a lie I spent £27 superdrug on make up, £10 on protein bars.
