I worked out this week that after h goes (divorcing) and until i have applied for UC and then waited for it to be processed The kids and I will have 17p a month left after bills and food. (That is including allowing for £140 a month on groceries, cleaning and toiletries).

Been spending carefully since divorce started but need to rein it in even more.

Hi rose have you counted child maintenance? Will you get single person council tax discount?

I would speak to the nursery and see if she is ok with all the changes with them. Then decide on bibs.

Hi that is including council tax reduction and maintenance. Just not including UC. Which online calculator says i should get.

I cant really take anything else off. I did not include clothes allowance for me, money for presents or prescriptions or dentist etc.
It did include a small clothes allowance for kids and kids club which i am bound to for another year. It might be i can get cheaper deal on bills i am basing it on what i know he was paying on various things.

Ok so it's not permanent. I see no reason why you wouldn't get UC. Sorry it's going to be so tough for you

Hi Rosa, have you done a benefits checker on like entitledto or anything? You might be entitled to more than you realise. For example prescriptions - pretty sure if you're on UC you get free prescriptions, free dental etc?

Hi everyone. Entitled to u says I will get UC, but part of me cant believe that I will. Maybe my brain is stuck in worse case scenario. I cant claim yet.
Kids are 11, one has special needs.

I spent £13 in poundland today stocking up on cleaning and toiletries.

Woohoo. Swimming done. We put the world to rights with a random dude in the steam room. That sounds dodgy :o

DH got paid from work and it was making up for a mistake that was made last month. So things aren’t quite so dire. Obviously they will be in future though as he 100% can’t keep this job so we aren’t going to relax totally but it’s nice to not be quite so stressed and I could do things like get the French books for DD without panicking.

Just got back from food shopping. Went to a friends for coffee this morning so haven't even had any lunch yet. Luckily I had a millionaires shortbread at my friends 😋
