wolf Apparently. I think they are being overly cautious. Like you I have eaten things much older than 30 days and I am still alive. The family less so. Apparently in the little freezers in the fridge it is less than a week. I have been reading up on food storage - jars, salt, saltpetre, sugar and vinegar may have been bought. I am even being nice to my brother who has a commercial dehydrator just in case it rolls on for longer than a couple of months.

em sparkly unicorns are enough to strike fear into the strongest. Sugar is the way to go....bring your own stash of Haribo and Coke - people may take it the wrong way if you elbow the smalls out the way. Also prevents a crash in event of a under catered party.

WreckTangled · 10/02/2019 09:40

Happy birthday sea!

£6.90 spin class

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 10/02/2019 10:37

Happy b day sea 🎂🎈

Had a slight trauma ystd as got back from bouncing and discovered dds hamster had died 😮 he has been looking a bit ropey for a while and was old in hamster years (nearly 2yo) but still rubbish timing for dd.

Anyway she has been okay, tearful last night but planning the next hammy this morning!! We've just done the burial 🐁 bless him. Rip Fred.

Anyway today we've got the family descending so need to tidy up and get some food prepared....

LonelyOversharer · 10/02/2019 10:58

Oh crikey girlie ! Poor dd. What a day to do it too.

Sky is cancelled. The lady on the phone was totally lovely and didn't try to get me to stay. So, £46.50 saved per month.

They payment for my car did not come out yesterday, so I'm assuming it is finished! 4 years of £99.17 on the 9th, so thats good too.

Will tackle BT next. Going to try to reduce the bill instead of moving, as we need "truly unlimited" which isn't what the cheaper options cover.

Then submit an electricity meter reading, see where I am with it, and if I can get it cheaper. We are very high users, so it will be ££ wherever I go to.

Off to see the Lego Movie 2 this afternoon £32 for the 6 of us, 2d is loads cheaper than 3d! Used paypal.

ememem84 · 10/02/2019 11:05

I’ve just taken a step and deleted my twitter account. Never used much. Don’t need it. Spend too much time social media-Ing.

Facebook and Instagram have been deleted from my phone for a month. I ditched Facebook 2/3 weeks ago now and am itching to check it. But won’t until 1 March. Same with insta. Why. Why am I so obsessed?!?!

Awful weather here.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 10/02/2019 11:08

Happy Birthday SeaCake

Cagliostro · 10/02/2019 12:34

Morning all. Happy birthday sea and belated to girlieDD sorry about hammy :(

I’ve been eating scratchy crisps and glugging hot squash and melted jelly. Lurgy thoroughly set in. I’m watching the Letdown on Netflix, late to the party I know but it’s so good!

Think I need to cash in some of my TCB and shopandscan vouchers, got a few home ed and household things needed and I don’t want to take any more out of the ISA.

Wolfcub · 10/02/2019 13:01

Lonely. Plusnet owned by by do truly unlimited at 1mg less than bt. You can tell bt you are leaving to go to plusnet and they will match the price or go about £1 above for a year

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 10/02/2019 13:02

Should say owned by BT

Girlie sorry about the hamster

Em wish I could delete Facebook but living on my own I think it would make me feel isolated

cag I loved the letdown! “Home mocha?!”

Party time in 1 hour.

I’ve drunk a red coke. And had some chocolate. As well as leftover mac and cheese for lunch.

Going to dparents for dinner. Dh and I were meant to be going for a curry on Friday but as I wasn’t well we cancelled. So Dm is cooking a korma. My absolute fave.

Unescorted · 10/02/2019 15:00

Poor Hammy Sad

I am back from the hell that is Ikea on a Wet Sunday morning. We have storage....dh has been watching Marie Kondo for blokes. The bike bits and clothes explosions as domestic art installation is going to be a thing of the past Grin

ChristmasSeacow · 10/02/2019 15:30

Thanks for the birthday wishes people! We took a gamble and went on a family trip out - more than half of the time these don’t go well for DS and I am very crestfallen afterwards so it was a gamble but today was a good day. We went to the RAF museum in N London - several hangars filled with old aircraft and info about the Air Force /wars. It was actually a lovely site (and sight!). DS coped okay I think because it’s not too busy and is a big space. It’s free apart from parking for £4 and we made a donation of £5 too. And £6 in the shop for a plane toy for DS. Took a frugal picnic lunch and had it in a nice clean picnic area in one of the hangars. Very cheap day out and we’ll definitely go back.

I’m making my favourite chicken risotto later and DH has bought me a Colin the caterpillar cake from M&S 😋 so no need to bake one - which is lucky as I am a bit cooked out after yesterday’s kitchen marathon! He also got me a lovely pair of little tanzanite stud earrings to go with the ring he got me for Christmas so that was lovely.

I have to do some serious tidying now so I can pack away some clutter, including finding space in the garage for a bit of a Brexit stash. I tried to buy various tins from Ocado (and more tomato purée!) this week but loads of stuff is out of stock. I think that shops will run out of some stuff in March because of people worrying about Brexit, even if it doesn’t actually cause a customs meltdown. So I am trying to make sure I have iron rations for that at least. My freezer is a mess, I need to empty it and start again really.

Sorry about the hamster Girlie that is crap timing. And the lurgy Cag - so annoying. I was shut into a tiny office with a colleague on Thursday who was streaming with a cold so I now await its arrival Hmm.

Unescorted I really need to get my DH on the Kondo thing but i seriously doubt he can be brainwashed. He’s dreadful for never getting rid of stuff. Love ikea, but never on a Sunday....

Cagliostro · 10/02/2019 15:54

Aww I’m really pleased you had a good trip out sea

DD1 has been invited to yet more dance classes 🙄 💸😂

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/02/2019 17:25

£5 parking, 40p toilets, £5 sweets, £20 lunch at the chip shop

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/02/2019 17:26

Ggreengrass1 · 10/02/2019 17:41

Sorry about the hamster girlie
The steam punk in Whitby sounds good. My dh & ds1 would love that, will have to see if there's one going on near us.
Spent £5 on resources for work. Seriously considering applying for a post at my old work. Not sure if its a good idea to go back, but would love to. Any thoughts????

WreckTangled · 10/02/2019 17:45

Depends why you left Ggreen?

We've had burritos and salad for dinner yum!

The dc have booo week at school this week so lots going on. Dress up day tomorrow but ds hates dressing up so is going in school uniform.

Cagliostro · 10/02/2019 17:52

Cagliostro · 10/02/2019 17:53

I am glad you had a good day sea CtC to the rescue!

I noticed shelf gaps in Aldi yesterday - not that uncommon to be fair. More room had been given over to staples. Baked bean space had doubled in size. In the event of No Deal stand up wind of my neighbours.

Wolf it has been a short day hasn't it. I am feeling so fed up at work at the moment, I am tempted to call in ill.

SnugglySnerd · 10/02/2019 19:08

Happy birthday Sea!
Sorry to hear about hamster Girlie.

Just checking in quickly whilst trying to do about 6 other things!

Wolfcub · 10/02/2019 19:32

Unescorted it’s very tempting to do so to be honest. If I didn’t have a board thing tomorrow I probably would.

Sea I’ve found another show on fore for you to download - New Amsterdam, medical drama
