Cag that is a blow for your dh. Hope his company are able to redeploy him.
Sea good effort getting a PO number - we take ages to issue them & we are considered fast payers. Hate to think what other PS organisations are like.

Wreck sometimes they do. Other times they are as thick as thieves. As they are getting older they are moving towards dropping the arguments. The expense of the teenage years has some advantages.

Booths for the uninitiated is an upmarket Waitrose meets Morrisons via a farmers market originally in Cumbria but gradually moving south and North. It champions local suppliers so has a heavy lean to Cumbrian suppliers - its Cumberland links are the beans. Fantastic cheeses, chutneys and really good ready meals. Milk and meat from local farmers ... the Kendal store is supplied from a dairy farm in Levans about 5 miles away. If I could afford it I would do all my shopping there. When in Penrith I do the next best thing - basics in Aldi and pop next door to Booths for the nom noms.

I am taking my inspiration form you lot today - list, shop, washing, cook and freeze. Aldi - not Booths.

Happierwithouthim · 09/02/2019 09:21

No when I get new mortgage I'm entitled to 50% of value of our balance at tracker rate +1% and he's entitled to other 50% but he can waive it and I get full value!
My new mortgage won't be more than the full amount of ours anyhow so it's good. Does that make sense?

He did suggest me having most of value of house but that's ridiculous & wouldn't be good for me or dc in the long term as his resentment would come in time. So I've said 50/50.

Once there's interest in this house I'll start mortgage application & house hunting in earnest

Unescorted · 09/02/2019 09:43

Happier - it would have been a good deal if it was his 50% of equity. Even so his part of the mortgage incentive is a good deal for you too. We got the mortgage equivalent of an error fare - 1.25% above base tracker. So at the moment we are paying 1.5%. We pay interest only and have the rest of the mortgage payments in an ISA.

My DD has just made me listen to The Special's 10 Commandments off their new album. The lyrics should be put on billboards. It is my new life anthem. there is a MN thread about it... just here

Wolfcub · 09/02/2019 09:58

Morning all

It’s blowing a gale here and I’m just about to get out of bed, back/hip is being a bit of a bugger. Was hoping to go out for lunch today but there are some trees down on local roads so if it doesn’t stop howling I’m not going

Em glad the go is being supportive

Happier that’s a great rate for you to get a solo mortgage on well done. I dread the rate going up before I can get out of the joint mortgage position with h. Hopefully you will get lots of interested buyers

Sea sounds like a great night out

Life I hope ds’s hip (I think that’s right) is ok and you don’t have to spend the afternoon in the children’s ward. Good to have open access though

Unescorted there was big chat about it on radio six this week I think so I will give it a listen

Lonely I used to love lucky charms and I hated cereal

Wreck good luck with the shoes. If you want ones boys can’t destroy them Rhinos by startrite are your best bet. Believe me I have the most destructive child ever when it comes to shoes

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 09/02/2019 11:04

Wolf ds is being enough for rhino yet but I love startrite and have never had an issue with them. I can't afford the best ones right now but got some nice Start-Rite ones online for £40 with 7% cash back. I know they'll last and they have a scuff resistant toe.

Lonely yes maybe we should let them sort it out themselves but they scream and it's so annoying!

So today:

£2.19 parking
£39.99 school shoes 7% cashback
£14.99 pe trainers for dd
£15 on pancakes and drinks for the three of us which I thought was a bargain.

I had a budget of £80 for today's spends (shoes etc).

WreckTangled · 09/02/2019 11:05

Oh and dds feet haven't grown. Her shoes are just scuffed not holey like ds' so she doesn't need new ones.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 09/02/2019 14:50

Afternoon all.
Fell off the thread a bit, I managed to catch dd2 tonsillitis, still went to work, but have just been so tired with it that I've been in bed by 8 each night.

Em, hope you feel better soon.
Life hope ds will be ok, sounds scary.
Happy Birthday to Girliedd.
Happier, glad you have a few things sorted now.

I made Em's burgers for lunch, that were yummy!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 09/02/2019 15:11

they

Thatsnotmybaby · 09/02/2019 15:16

Afternoon all. I'm also making the best of bad weather and having a very productive day at home, which is great as I have a lot on tomorrow and Monday, and double great as DD is going through a climbing phase so generally it's hard to get much done with her around.

Spends yesterday:
£8 Primark, some will be returned as I only remembered when I got home how poor their children's vests are.
£6 coffee and cake
£16 hairdresser
£66 Next, ordered two pairs of trousers, different sizes so at least one pair will be returned.
Supermarket delivery: £54

Today is looking like an NSD.

Great that your ex is being so cooperative @Happierwithouthim; it sounds unlike him though; do you know where he would plan to live if he was to give you more equity from house? Feel free to ignore my question if you want of course!

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/02/2019 15:59

He has started weight bearing so we are not going back in. Keep in an increased ibuprofen dose and see how we go.
Our local hospital are fab.
Thanks for your kind words.
Did a bit of a stock up so shopping nearer £200.
Cleaned the house and loads of washing done.
Beef curry in s/c.
Sunny but windy today. Nearly got cblown over in Aldi car park.
£10 dd riding

Any ideas for a girls 21 birthday. Don't usually give presents but would like to mark it. Friends daughter?

Justanothermile · 09/02/2019 17:31

That's great news life, poor lad.

Glad you're feeling better curvy, so much illness seems to be going round at present.

Good to see you happier, I understand re the mortgage. How's H being with the dc in general, is he being reliable?

Fairly steady day, done a lot of house related things and some cooking. Popped my mother to M&S for a few bits, I spent £12 on yummy fruit in the main. Even had a nana nap about an hour ago!

Meal plan.
Sweet potato dhal and rice.
Jamie's veggie Shepherds pie and veggies (will do two meals).
Frittata.
Veggie jambalaya.
Lentil and winter veg bake
Roast veg risotto.
Veggie pasta.

Wolfcub · 09/02/2019 17:42

Spendy day sort of

£11.85 lunch, took our own drinks in the car to save a few pounds
£12 vitamin d and set up a six month subscribe and save
£17 bulk buy eye wipes. This will save me £10 overall against buying separately. I already buy the cheapest available brand so if I was buying better brands it’d be saving be £27 Shock this stuff really should be available on prescription
£6.80 replacement duster handle as mine has broken. Turns out when I thought I ordered one yesterday I actually ordered something else

Evening all, thanks for the b day wishes for dd, she has had a lovely day so far. She loved all the coins and said to say a huge thank you to all the kind frugaleers who sent some. She was made up and very shocked to get the iPhone, it is very nice - I'm quite jealous!!

Have spent the day making her bday cake, it's a cactus cake 😆 getting the green icing on it was a bugger but pleased with the finished result.

Have taken dd and her friend for dinner, for the 3 of us it was £40. Now I'm sat at a trampoline park for the next two hours while they bounce 😣 it's going to be a long two hours for me! ! This was already paid for, will probably spend another tenner on drinks and snacks.

Happierwithouthim · 09/02/2019 19:14

€1.20 parking
€4.20 on drinks for dc at show
Saved €5 on poster by getting promo poster from display & god knows how much by bringing sweets with us (Halloween stuff still not finished Grin)

Spent €8.61 from joint account on dds pocket money slime & bits to take to a playdate

Curvy you poor thing, when we're stressed out we catch everything

Thatsnotmybaby he has another house & granny flat to live in. It's most unlike him so I'm not banking on any of it tbh

Life great news about your ds

Jam he's grand with the week day evenings , has only missed one, but weekends are a disaster he refuses to make any arrangements until fri eve, says it's work related but I know that's not true. It's like he either wants to prevent me making any plans or else he's seeing if anything better comes up for him. I floated the idea of a full weekend each and a weekends of fri night and sat night alternating. Can't make plans cos of work, I said you can say no to overtime, he says he won't be doing that.

Ooh jealous of your nana nap 💤

Sounds like a nice day wolf & girlie

Wolfcub · 09/02/2019 19:22

Girlie happy birthday to dd. Cake Flowers

Saturday spends:
Macdonalds £3.60

Dunelm £40
Lidl £58
B&Q £8

Pets at home £9

Tesco £10 and Tesco fuel £35 (had a 5p off/l coupon to use up).

Had my boy with me which was fun, but dd1 (16!) had a tantrum because I wasn't taking her too. At 1330 she wasn't dressed, washed or fed, so no, as I'm starting the car, I'm going without you Hmm (she got over it).

happier onwards, upwards. It is sad selling up, but, trust me, the elation you will feel when you get the keys to your own house, will more than make up for it xx Your exh is a twat. He is punishing you via your dc. Ugh.

Right, I have put off doing the stairs long enough...

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/02/2019 20:10

Did you get the IKEA sofa lonely?

Photo girlie?

He is still in pain but managing to put his foot down and walk without the crutches thankfully. Will give it a couple of days then go to go is still not improving.
Bloody kids Grin

Dd managed to spend £60 on an app faints Apple online said no refund. Lovely Apple chat refunded. Phew.

Happierwithouthim · 09/02/2019 21:04

ememem84 · 09/02/2019 21:26

Evening.

Spends today £7.56 at farm shop on pork and leek sausages, Portuguese rolls and milk.

£12 something in boots on teething granuals, paracetamol and cough medicine. Picked up ds’ nappies too.

We took ds to the farm shop farm to look at the cows he’s been there twice now and this was trip no3. They keep the baby cows so you can look at them. Beautiful baby jersey cows. Ds got excited when we pulled the car in and knew where the cows were. And went “oooooooo” at them. So cute!!!!

Dparents popped round this afternoon and ddad and Dh went to watch the local rugby. Jersey lost. But they had a nice time. Dm stayed with me. She brought scones and clotted cream so we have a home made cream tea.

She also helped me with laundry.

Mac n cheese for dinner. Mmmmm.

Dr gave me antibiotics to take incase I didn’t feel any better in 24-48 hours. I’m not feeling better. More rested maybe but just as yuk. So may have to take them tomorrow. Sigh.

ememem84 · 10/02/2019 07:43

Ds slept through. Wahoooo! I got up at 2 went to the bathroom and then managed to walk right into the radiatior on my way back to bed. 😪

Unescorted · 10/02/2019 08:00

Sea did we all miss your birthday yesterday or is it today? Hope you made yourself a beautiful cake and ate it all. And a huge Happy Birthday to you.

em I hope you are feeling a bit better this morning. It is horrid being poorly and pregnant.

girlie did you survive the bouncing? Hope they had a great time.

I managed the shopping yesterday... £109 in Aldi and £37 in Morrisons. My store cupboard is complete. Although nearer to the date I will be stocking up on the fresh long lasting stuff. More frozen green vege, spuds, onions (must crochet their string bag first) carrots, parsnips and squashes. I also need to add in all the meat. I am conscious that it only has a 30day limit in the freezer (although this is possibly caution). Also cheese, butter and eggs.

I can't believe we have got to this stage. There were loads of people with obvious store cupboard trolleys. There were a few shelf gaps which surprised me.

Next plan is to get the garden ready for planting when the weather improves. I have very valiant perpetual spinach and sprouting broccoli which I have failed to kill off...

I am feeling very buoyant this morning. I went upstairs to watch TV -at 7:30 ish...woke up at 10 to turn it off ( I will get the programme on catch up) and then slept all the way through to 7 this morning. 11.5 hours... I think I was tired.

Unescorted · 10/02/2019 08:02

wooooohoooooo em not for walking into the radiator Wink

Wolfcub · 10/02/2019 08:12

Happy birthday Sea

Lousy nights sleep again and I’m up at 4am tomorrow so that wasn’t ideAl. I have also woken with a throat full of razors. I thought I had avoided the bug that’s been going around work but apparently not

Unescorted 30 days? Until it died there were things that had been in my freezer for considerably longer than that

Em ouch!

We have a birthday party to go to today. Well ds does. Sigh. The last thing I want to do is attend a princess unicorn party. But it’s our best friends little girl and I love her so much. So must put my happy face on. And go. It’s for 2 hours this afternoon. There will be cake. And hopefully some sort of ridiculously sugary fizzy pop. 👍🏻
