Ha Jam buying a saw made me Grin a bit as well, I was waiting for to borrow someones but just thought a saw is probably a useful thing to own, I've got a little tree in the garden to saw up!! I think it didn't help that AF was visiting for the Park run so wasn't feeling my best.

We struggle to find board games that work well for two players as well wolf we enjoy Othello and I occasionally win that one as well Wink

Cagliostro · 17/02/2019 21:59

Am impressed at you running with AF girlie I just want to curl up when I have mine :o hoping to get the heaviness under control though - loving my new washable pads (I got a selection from a site called weenotions to start off) but it’s super heavy so I have decided, after all my commenting on how I could never possibly try one, I have decided to invest in a mooncup 😬😬😬😬😬

Now I’m wondering if we have a saw 🤔

Girliefriendlikescake · 17/02/2019 22:13

I only ran as it was my mums 100th Park run Cag would definitely give it a miss on that basis usually!! I only use the washable pads at the end of my period as am too heavy for the first day or two (sorry TMI!) I think dd will like them when she starts but would be awkward at school having to carry soiled pads around. I'm not brave enough to try a mooncup!!

Thankyou for the bra advice, I think part of the problem is that i live in a small town so options are limited, I have tried m&s and Debenhams and not found other to be great tbh. I think i am a funny size though Grin i am quite broad but fairly small chested Grin

Cagliostro · 17/02/2019 22:46

Yes I’d like DD to try washables as I think they will be better from a sensory point of view than the weird feeling of disposables. But would like to keep disposables as an option for long days out etc. I am nervous about the mooncup tbh. But tampons and pads aren’t enough for the first couple of days since having Rowan

I managed to take one of DH’s cocodamol earlier instead of my antibiotic I’m such a twat

WreckTangled · 18/02/2019 08:33

Such a stressful morning! Dd has a blood test at 9:10 but at 7:30 I realised I'd left all the paperwork and emla cream in my laptop bag at work! (It's actually in the drs surgery) so had to jump in the shower and gather the dc up to go and get it in order for her to have the cream on for an hour. Back home now for 20 mins so I can do my make up and have a coffee before we need to leave again. Oh and ds is having a third breakfast

Lovemaltesers · 18/02/2019 09:10

Hope you have a lovely trip seacow. Can't remember when you leave!

We've almost packed for two days away. DCs are bouncing off the walls with excitement Smile

I need to do lots of bank account/saving accounts sorting when we get back.

£11.50 coffee and cake
£3 charity shop on a top for ds and book for dd
£12 haircut for ds including £1 tip (stingy but it's all I had!)

The cake slices were so big they gave us a take away container so the dc have some left for after lunch.

ememem84 · 18/02/2019 11:50

Just scraped into work on time. Dh was inordinately slow his morning. His reason being “it’s half term so there’ll be no traffic”

There was traffic

Never mind.

Lunch in a bit and I’m going to price up our trip to Mexico for April next year. I may cry.

Thatsnotmybaby · 18/02/2019 12:39

Spends updates for Saturday:
£28 night out

Yesterday was NSD.

ememem84 · 18/02/2019 15:27

£5.70 lunch. Chicken bacon avocado sandwich. Mmmm.

WreckTangled · 18/02/2019 15:53

We've been for a walk round the green. It's murky and cold. Humph.

It is miserable weather here too. Surprise visit from SIL passed the day (would really love more than a few hours notice mind you).

Just got back from GP app with DS. He’s being referred to CAMHS for ADHD assessment 😱

MeadowHay · 18/02/2019 17:23

I hope this isn't tmi but I am thinking about trying a menstrual cup too as I get pain/discomfort now when I use tampons all day (did mention this to gynae but he didn't comment on it or make any suggestions, and a MN search suggests this is actually an issue for lots of people after having a child, and that lots of these people didn't have this issue with a menstrual cup?!). However I'm very squeamish about that part of my body and only use applicator tampons so not sure I'd manage with them...and also my motor skills are poor too so that might cause difficulties? Confused Anyway, any suggestions on a brand would be appreciated. I have very heavy periods so can't bear to just wear pads all the time and now I can't bear the pain of wearing tampons all the time either so a bit stuck Confused.

I did A Thing today. I met up with a local mum and we did a long walk to a pub where we met two other local mums (all people I've met before and am in a WhatsApp group with) and HAD LUNCH. DD was definitely the 'worst behaved' out of the four Hmm (I put it in commas as obviously I know she's not 'naughty', just difficult lol), but she did at least sit in a high chair eating Organix carrot sticks long enough for me to actually eat my lunch, so that's good enough for me tbh! And then walked back again with the mum that lives by me. It has taken me 8 months but I have done it! Grin Spent about £8 on the lunch.

MeadowHay · 18/02/2019 17:28

Also weaning-wise, DD is 8 months now and still won't eat any purees/mashed food that aren't sweet...and though she will happily do the 'baby-led' thing, she doesn't really actually chew/swallow anything yet either...should I be worried now or just chill? 7 month old was happily being spoon-fed mashed sweet potato when we were out and chewing bits off a banana and eating it...DD is nowhere near that and we started weaning at 5.5 months Confused. I don't want to give her fruit purees/mashed for every meal either but that's the only thing she will really eat in proper quantities, that and baby porridge (as it's fruit-flavoured!). Not sure what to do about that either.

Unescorted · 18/02/2019 18:25

Meadow well done. Personally I would chill - both mine gummed everything to death for a long time after they were eating wallpaper paste

Sneaky Radishes?

I am impressed by all the running going on here. Lonely I have become that person..... I now have 2 bikes. One for riding to work and the other for longer trips. It is a hand - me - down so has cost me nothing.

SneakyGremlins · 18/02/2019 18:27

Basil! And some tomatoes have sprung up too.

Unescorted · 18/02/2019 18:42

Oooohhhh Get you! I have never had success with basil.

Happierwithouthim · 18/02/2019 18:51

Nsd yesterday& today

SneakyGremlins · 18/02/2019 18:56

Well thankyou very much, they're all from you Smile

Cagliostro · 18/02/2019 19:00

Well done meadow! 💐

I’m going to try an Athena as it is cheap and plenty of women do get on perfectly well with any old cup IYSWIM. Whereas a friend of mine has real difficulty and has tried loads. She sent me this video about how to choose, I found it a bit overwhelming (hence just thinking fuck it I’ll try the cheapest) but may be of use

Unescorted · 18/02/2019 19:01

Do feel free to use my garden to practice!

So sorry for your loss Adora, sounds as though it’s the culmination of a very stressful time for you all Flowers.

I’m a bit behind with posting over the weekend but just had to say... a date, Happier? . Go you! Good to get back on the horse, as it were, even if it’s just a bit of fun.

What are the seedlings Sneaky?

Meadow I wouldn’t worry about how much food she seems to swallow. Some guzzle down purées and pouches and ‘eat properly’ but loads of babies don’t. Most important that she is exposed to lots of tastes and textures. Both of mine were offered solids from 6m - ds wouldn’t even touch them till after 7m then suddenly got interested. DD was also a late starter but is now a terrific eater. I vowed not to worry about what they actually swallowed until they turned 1 as many people I trusted told me that was normal but they’d both got the hang of it well before then.

No periods since I went on Cerelle. Bloody marvellous it is. I do not miss them.

We’re off tomorrow morning and I have a lot to do before then. Am half packed but need to prune the clothes pile and assemble toiletries, make up and jewellery. And camera gear. Can’t quite decide what lenses to take. I have been charging a squillion devices and batteries today Grin. And I still have 3 work tasks to do. Probably at midnight. And I must tidy the flare room, my poor mother is sleeping there and it’s still so cluttered with baby stuff!

Am not impressed with Etihad though. Paid whatever fortune for our tickets months ago and then when it came to online check in we had to pay extra to choose our seats! Almost £50!!! As it’s long haul we wanted to definitely sit together I’m not too fussed actually but DH was and at least I know he isn’t a smelly stranger So we grudgingly paid it.

It’s all getting a bit real now. I’ve left ds before but never left dd even overnight. Whenever I think about it I have a massive wobble. I’m not worried about them but I’ll miss them terribly. I will definitely cry on the way to the airport tomorrow. I’ll get over it but I will think about them all the time!

On the other hand, its 33C every day for the next 8 days, where we’re going Grin

ChristmasSeacow · 18/02/2019 19:15

Ah, cross posted on the basil. I can’t keep a potted basil alive, let alone grow one from seed.,

Two annoying things:

  1. Yesterday I was chopping parsley a bit aggressively (fretting about DS) and I chopped a huge chunk of one of my nails off. Kind of parallel to the nail but deep. It stings like a mother*** and is really giving me the creeps. No nice wedding manicure for me! I’m an idiot.
  1. Today I lost my bank card at a park with ds. I’d used it for the bus and I think it must have fallen out if my coat pocket when I took my phone out to take pictures. I realised as soon as I got to the bus stop but ds was totally resistant to retracing our steps so I had to cancel it instead. So no access to cash 😬😬😬.

Dh will have to pay for everything for the foreseeable and I am jazzing up my ‘fuckwit finger’ with a George Pig plaster. I can totally style this out.
