I think we are both still processing it really.

It is a total minefield sea :( it is very normal for kids with ASD to repress everything at school and release it on their parents. DD was like a tightly wound spring, as soon as we got out of the gate at 3.30, boom, 6 hours worth of pent up rage and fear unleashed. It’s because they know they are safe with us. 💐

WreckTangled · 15/02/2019 15:33

Really sorry to hear that cag

I got a credit note for the shoes. Could have done with a refund but it'll come in handy for the DC's summer sandals. £54.99.

Justanothermile · 15/02/2019 15:40

Oh cag. I'm so sorry for your DH. I honestly don't know what to say, I've got no words to make that news be okay because it isn't and no other exercise or sport is able to replace running. I'm desperately sorry, I really am. Are you feeling better re the mastitis?

seacow, oh you've got such a tough time going on there. The emotion you must go through re your DS I can't begin to imagine. Have the school come up with any suggestions re proceeding into the future? You are NOT failing him. Don't you even dare think that. You cope incredibly well, even though you likely think you don't.

Think the return to work has upset the equilibrium re your DS?

Life - you are another having a genuinely crappy time. Xx

Nothing major to report here. I'm happy to report this, I don't mind boring. It's our wedding anniversary - 20 years - lots of give and take and tolerance but pleased to report a happy marriage.

We've celebrated by going bathroom shopping this morning for the main bathroom and one en-suite. Got some ideas and plans being drawn up and things will look fabulous when finished. Going for the walk in shower (no tray) and shower in the ceiling etc, blah blah.

Also - a light up mirror for DD's room, been on the list for two years....£100 ex display from the bathroom shop.

Yesterday
£60 Sainsbury's.

Justanothermile · 15/02/2019 15:45

Ps - I've finally switched broadband from plusnet to Sky. Saving £10 ish a month. This has been on the list for far too long.....

Lovemaltesers · 15/02/2019 17:13

Big hugs to cag and seacow

Ggreengrass1 · 15/02/2019 19:18

sea has got easier for my son with ASD, lots of school avoidance at mainstream, lots of meltdowns, no friends, miles behind, it was heart breaking. Went to special for secondary, I never regrettted it. We still need to give him lots of time and space to unwind after college...so much pacing and hours lying in a warm bath help him. But it does get easier, I'm sure you are doing an amazing job.
em glad you got the trousersSmile
cagthat's really toughFlowers
jam congrats on annivetsayFlowers

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/02/2019 19:36

Evening all.
Hugs to sea and cag.
Happy anniversary jam.
Hope you feel better soon life.
Hi everyone else.

Last day of work today for a week.
I'm currently on a train to Edinburgh to see my DD1, I can't wait!

Girliefriendlikescake · 15/02/2019 19:47

Evening all, all o.kay here except I am very knackered and glad its Friday!!

I have had to take the mn app off my phone in order to update WhatsApp Hmm my phone is so shit, hopefully will inherit my mums iPhone soon.

I handed my notice in today, so scary but feeling positive about the next step. Most people know at work now and everyone has been lovely and supportive, still can't believe I'm going to be a specialist nurse!

Congrats on your anniversary Jam

Sorry to hear that diagnosis Cag

Sea you do so well with your ds, don't ever feel like you're not doing enough, you do an amazing job and your ds (and dd) are lucky to have you.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/02/2019 20:03

Ah rubbish cag. Poor dh. Take time to digest that news. (((Hugs))
Happy anniversary jam.
Yeah girlie.
Sea, post away that's what we are here for. X
Can you still fit the trousers em or are you going to look lovingly at them until next year.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/02/2019 20:07

£2 on Gregg's today, £69 Sainsbury's. Just Aldi tomorrow. Will stick up as will need less food cos dh is away with work and kids are away for a bit.

Mil is out of hospital and wants a dog so we are going to dogs trust tomorrow.

I've been seconded to another role for 6 months. No more SoS until then wolf but lots more London and Bristol for a week in a couple of weeks.

Wolfcub · 15/02/2019 20:14

Happy anniversary Jam

That sounds exciting Life. Congratulations. You don’t have to answer but will that remove the source of work stress?

Girlie ooo it’s getting real now. Hope you are taking some time to celebrate such a fantastic achievement

Hey Curvy nice to see you

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 15/02/2019 20:48

Yes and no. Gets rid of my current stress but don't know what I'm going into stress wise

ememem84 · 15/02/2019 20:53

Exhausted. Walked from work to dparents to get ds. It’s a half hour walk. I did it in 25 mins. The last part is all uphill whichever route you take. I took the longer hill but less steep. Passed my 10000 steps target though.

Dh drive to meet us. He finished work at 530/545. I’m at 5. It was a gorgeously sunny day so figured why waste my time sitting in the car waiting for him.

Home at 7. Ds had his milk and has crashed in bed. So tired. He napped for almost 3 hours today with dparents. But he’s essentially had 3 hours sleep at nursery this week. Plus has been teething so it’s taken it out of him. Poor babbooo.

He’s currently lying on his back arms up above his head holding onto his big whale toy. Snoring away.

Dh is watching the grand tour. I’m in bed. I cannot stand Jeremy clarkson et al.

ChristmasSeacow · 15/02/2019 20:57

Happy anniversary Jam, 20 years is a decent stretch!

Bravo Girlie, it’s a big step but you will be great.

Thanks for the encouragement people. I don’t feel I am completely rubbish with ds, only that I wonder whether I should be more pushy. I am not naturally a pushy parent but I meet some ASD parents going hell for leather on therapy programmes etc and I wonder whether I should be doing more of that instead of just trying to be with him and understand him. But he’s not great with pressure, I feel he needs a lot of space. Your experience is very interesting Greengrass and I’m glad to hear it got easier. I’ve no doubt at all that DS will need special secondary, I think the right special primary would be better than mainstream but he doesn’t fit the profile of any round here so we’d have to move. No idea where to. And that’s a gamble, since with a new LA, his EHCP would be reviewed etc. Some LAs are shocking. So many variables! Anyway, I think the contact with NT kids is doing him good right now so there’s no urgency. I’m not sure I can see him managing right to the end of primary though.

Busy day. Much lower spends but I did spend about £25 in Superdrug on insect repellent, mascara, small hand wipes and gems etc for my trip. And £6.99 on amazon on plug adaptors. And a top up shop for a fiver (a squash for dinner, some bananas and blueberries).

We’re having this for dinner, it’s really light but satisfying:

www.waitrose.com/home/recipes/recipe_directory/c/chorizo__bean__pepper_and_butternut_squash_chilli.html

Dh is having garlic bread with it, just to make me jealous Envy

SnugglySnerd · 15/02/2019 21:14

Quick check in. Today has not been frugal! Nsds all week until today though.

Sounds like a few of you are having a tough time at the moment. Flowers for you all.

WreckTangled · 16/02/2019 08:23

Taking my car to the garage today as a fog light has gone (free) and dh broke a plastic cover for the rain sensor (£60 😡 he's paying) have to go all the way to Guildford which is annoying. Then collecting Tesco food shop (£80) as no time for Aldi. Need fuel £40. Then need to collect dd as she was at a sleepover last night. Pil's are staying over tonight as dh and I are out with friends and staying away. Dh has £200 put aside. Oh and forgot cat food so will have to pop into Tesco to get that.

ememem84 · 16/02/2019 08:36

At the vets with catface. She is not happy. She’s going between yowling loudly and ignoring me while she’s in her box. Managed to get her in the box with not a huge amount of fuss. Ds thought it was hilarious when he saw her in the box and pointed and laughed....

She’s fine just needs a weigh and a check up and her nails clipped.

Then £30 riding.

Then we’re going to the park I think. Yay. Set to be a sunny cold day here. Yay.

Wolfcub · 16/02/2019 09:06

Morning all. It’s sunny and crisp here too. Just having a nice cuppa in bed whilst the Sudafed kicks in Grin

Wreck that sounds like a busy day, have a fab night out tonight

Poor catface

Sea that chilli sounds nice and I have a squash lurking in the fridge so might give that a go

Life I hope you are feeling a bit better today, fingers crossed the secondment is less stressful on balance

Curvy I hope you are enjoying Edinburgh

May go for a walk later, depends what mood ds is in as he was highly strung out when I picked him up from school yesterday and very shouty/emotional. I am hoping he wakes up calmer

Happierwithouthim · 16/02/2019 09:15

Wreck your lunch looks amazing I love goats cheese but never buy it for home Hmm

This was my valentines card from dd, I've now established she'd like me to remarry but not h!

Ooh sneaky pity you'd to pass on valentines offer.

Girlie 4 babies Shock resignation letter Grin

On thurs I spent €18.92 in Lidl & about €4.50 of dc pocket money on sweets

Yesterday I bought a boost protein bar & pack of chewing gum €3.50
Today will be waxing & the newspaper

Dd drank massive bottles at that age meadow if 11oz fit in the bottle she'd have drank them, she ate quite bigger portions of her purees & food too, she's grew at a normal rate, and is now going through something similar because she keeps having growth spurts, she'll be 9 in April.

Cag brilliant valentines bargain
Seacow we're here for handholding regarding ds I'm unable to offer any practical advice Thanks
Well done to your dh on the good valentines treat of cherries shows he knows you well

Lonely I may need a skip too but I'm going to continue filling the shed with bags of rubbish first as h works in bin company & can take them in for free, it's his clutter too.

Cag your poor dh

Sea he's worse for you as you're his safe place, my ds is also worse for me but I'm also who he wants comfort from.
I also second what wolf said you're not derailing the thread, equally though if pm would help you, feel free x

Em Grin** at yellow trousers

Congrats jam & bathroom plans sound fab too

Life great news about MIL post doggie pics please, I've got withdrawal but I'm not getting another until we get settled in a new home, which could be some time, need to sell this one first Grin
Glad to hear your current work stress will be gone at the very least

Wreck enjoy night away

I stayed out late last night on a date, home at 2am Shock very early days & we're sneaking around essentially as we work together but had a great time together.

Happierwithouthim · 16/02/2019 09:16

Aargh bold fail sorry guys

Thatsnotmybaby · 16/02/2019 09:16

@ChristmasSeacow Thanks, sounds like you are having a tough time. Worst case scenario, would it be a possibility to rent out your house and rent in a different area for a few years, then move back to your house to the good secondary school? Obviously massive upheaval, but maybe better than leaving where you are forever if it came to that.
Spends yesterday:
£59 supermarket delivery
£14 lunch
£84 two new rugs and a couple of other bits, I suspect both rugs may go back though, I'll look at them again in daylight this morning.

Happierwithouthim · 16/02/2019 09:17

Just realised dds name on pic so getting it removed, basically valentines note telling me to find a boyfriend

Happierwithouthim · 16/02/2019 09:18

Thatsnotmybaby what a clever idea for seacow & family

Cagliostro · 16/02/2019 09:21

“best of luck” bless her that’s adorable :o

Thank you so much everyone for the lovely words. Really means a lot. 💐We will find a new normal.

WreckTangled · 16/02/2019 09:29

Oh poor catface. WreckCat hates the vets too and is a right pain to get into the gigantic basket.

Happier that's too cute! I never buy it either maybe I will in the summer and make some nice salads.

Curvy im jealous of your Edinburgh trip; enjoy!

Frugal win: free nice coffee at the Nissan garage (it all counts, right?!)
