Thanks Mammy, that's lovely.

In my new job I was told I have a cut glass accent. It's a Durham/n York's hybrid. Then the words came out of my potty mouth. Grin

Oh that's only 112 miles from me unescorted.....

I don't hear anything in accents but I also don't see things in pictures. You know when they do that thing in yoga about walking in a forest. Nah never see it.

£2 on a tip today. Friend paid for catch up so I will get it next time.
£17.99 refund in New look, £8 primark on PJ's, collected a superdrug order £58,

Unescorted · 14/11/2018 21:20

I have really vivid pictures... They come with sound and smells too. When I had DD I could hear and smell the surf as the contractions went in waves.

AutumnLeaves12 · 14/11/2018 21:29

That's amazing unescorted. Is that a problem or do you only see/hear/smell nice things?

I don't hear accents when I read here, and I don't see pictures like that. When ds was being born I just felt as though I was listening to a baby being born on the Archers. I had my eyes shut, so it was exactly like listening to the radio.

Our very clever conductor has invited ds and me to his house to learn about writing music and I am FreakingTheHellOut about it. I'm sure it's probably going to be fine isn't it?

moimichme · 14/11/2018 21:31

Unescorted While in labour trying to do hyno-birthing I revisited a vivid memory that I originally had in a dream as a teenager! A warm spring morning in our back garden where lilac flowers (my favourite) were floating through the air, birds chirping etc. It was lovely and worked really well until 3 cm! 😂

moimichme · 14/11/2018 21:35

Autumn As a rather musical person, that sounds great -- don't worry! Musicians are usually intelligent and kind people imo.

ememem84 · 14/11/2018 21:40

Huzzah. I have WiFi again. Wahooooo.

Dh went out to the shop £79 and said he’d sort the connection when he came back. I did it in 5 minutes. Plug in router. Switch on. Scan qr code with my phone. Boom. Connected. Hooked up my laptop too. Yay!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 14/11/2018 21:43

322 miles from me unescorted don't think I'll make it Grin

I don't read in accents, I also pick them up quite quickly

I'm starving - was out walking with a friend & then had difficult bedtime with ds so only eating now Angry

AutumnLeaves12 · 14/11/2018 21:49

moimichme thanks that's a very nice encouraging thought.

I'll try to have my best assertive speaking with me, as I think that that's what's going to be needed for this one.

Cagliostro · 14/11/2018 21:59

A smidge far for me sadly unescorted but you totally have to somehow work Pom Bears or Naice Ham into your routine.

Yay WiFi em I hated being without it. Spent a fortune on data. And forgot to say when catching up yay for walking DS!

Just sent DS to bed after watching greatest snowman with him. He was dancing all dramatic contemporary style to rewrite the stars. Wish I’d got a video it was outrageously cute. He normally does hip hop kinda stuff. I also frugally cut his hair. Quite a nice evening really. Just trying to get baby back to sleep 🙄 might watch some more killing eve. So good.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 14/11/2018 22:10

Evening all
Waves back to sea
Thank you mammy

I also read in accents.
My Mum tells me I talk quite posh and thinks this is wrong because they are all very cockney!
I grew up in Canning Town and Custom House, so it was pretty rough, but safe.
I still live in Newham now, but pretty close to Westfield Stratford.
So I guess that is me outed!
So unescorted it would only take me about 8 hours to get to you!
Yay em, well done on getting hooked up.

Spends today £5 on lunch

ememem84 · 14/11/2018 22:13

Aww I wanna heckle unescorted

Unescorted · 14/11/2018 22:21

autumn it is what ever I make it. I think in pictures, smells, taste, feel... almost like a movie playing in my head but more so. All the senses are engaged. It is like being there, but I can visualise my version of the future ... I can't quite explain it.

Em good to have you back.

Cag next time. This one is about how menopausal women make perfect spies.

AutumnLeaves12 · 14/11/2018 22:44

That's very interesting about the pictures Unescorted. Your comedy sounds great too. I wish I could be there.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 14/11/2018 22:52

8 hours??
More like 4, obviously!
I definitely need to go to bed!

ChristmasSeacow · 15/11/2018 00:21

Ha, I’d love to hear that too Unescorted

I missed that about EmBoy walking - exciting!

Curvy we are very close - I’m just one junction from Westfield. Ooh, so close!

I do sound a bit posh - not exaggeratedly so (I say ‘room’ not ‘rum’ Wink) but definitely Received Pronunciation. I hear some of you with accents when reading your posts but not all the time - usually triggered by a turn of phrase.

I’VE JUST FINISHED MY WORK AND AM GOING TO BED!!! YAAAAY!

Just me and DD hanging out tomorrow. Lovely.

AutumnLeaves12 · 15/11/2018 03:53

Christmas I know what you mean by room and rum. I have a friend here who says "rum", and has a very posh accent. The point of widest divergence between my accent and his is that I say "girl" as it is written and he says "gel", which makes both of us laugh out loud when we hear each other.

That's great that you finished your work. That must be a such a relief.

I wish I could let you hear my silly accent. I have a youtube channel with just six or seven science videos, and I sound very silly indeed on it (to me anyway), but that would be extremely very much outing myself.

I just dreamt that I was crossing the channel on the titanic. That was bizarre. It's not often I'm glad to be awake at this o'clock.

ememem84 · 15/11/2018 06:05

I say “room” “glarse” “barth” but “scon” Not “scone”

Work again today and more training. Anti money laundering this morning. A 3 hour seminar. Important. Annual training. But so busy could do without it.

Wolfcub · 15/11/2018 06:17

Morning all. Some very interesting Codeine dreams here last night but on the plus side actually stayed asleep for the majority of the night.

I have absolutely no desire to go to work today but it will be a busy one so should pass quickly.

Happy frugal Thursday everyone. Need to buy milk on the way home and pay for ds’s activity tonight

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/11/2018 06:18

Ah well done sea.

Yea WiFi.

Tired today. Need it to be Saturday so I can recover from Tuesdays long day and travel. Work is brutal at the moment too.

CurlsandCurves · 15/11/2018 08:23

Loving the accent chat! Mines fairly neutral generic blah. When I first came to the Midlands aged 11 I had quite the Mancunian accent. And got the piss taken out of me so much I quickly toned it down.

I had a weird dream last night too Helping a woman (played by Joanna Scanlan of ‘No Offence’ fame) leave an abusive relationship involving her husband and his nasty brother. Lots of finding and copying essential documents, talk of ‘getting your ducks in a row’ . Clearly I’m spending far too much time on here...🙄

ememem84 · 15/11/2018 08:41

Speaking of ducks in a row...

Countdown to a Frugal Christmas, The Friendly Frugaleers still knitting, nattering and money saving!
mammynowanauntyIRL · 15/11/2018 08:49

I was also awake around 3.15 am had wicked dreams that I forgot date of Christmas night at mine & everyone was coming in two hours and I'd nothing done Grin

So this morning I've printed a couple of recipes & going to do shopping list - will divide into perishable & not

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/11/2018 09:17

Morning all, I also had a weird dream last night (is it a full moon?!) Was something to do with being in a children's home and the people in charge being horrible to us!!

I've just had to swallow a frog and tell someone something that I know will piss them off. I really don't like confrontation but it had to be done.

I've convinced myself that this pain I'm getting isn't gastritis but is something else as the tablets don't seem to be doing much now. The pain reminds me of when I had gallstones, it's nowhere near as bad but it's sort of grumbling all the time iykwim. The last 6 months have been horrible health wise, not sure I've had one completely pain free day.

That said am going to try not to think about it too much and go and get my hair done. Am anticipating it will cost about £130 but that's for half head of highlights and a senior stylist to sort it into some sort of style! Will use birthday money from my dad to pay for it.

Have just bought carol concert tickets for myself and the grandparents to watch dd sing with the school choir at a huge cathedral. Should be lovely. £23 for 4 tickets.

northender · 15/11/2018 09:37

Morning All. Sorry for my patchy presence over the past few weeks. I'm going to make a determined effort to post more over the next few weeks.
Cag sorry you're having a tough time
Jam what a load of crap you've been having to deal with, you need a less eventful time now.
Meadow I must've missed your move to the NW, I still pictured you in Birmingham.
Christmas those turtle doves keep popping up on my Facebook feed & I'm tempted to try them. Are they good?

All here is okay but hectic. At hospital appointment with ds (second of 3 this week). Will update later.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 15/11/2018 09:48
