I've got a bruise across my toes where the hoover battery fell on me this morning! Also a lump at the base of one of my toes which must be where it hit - ouch!

ememem84 · 18/10/2018 20:59

Oh god meadow yes the baby group putting toys in mouth thing. I hated ds doing that initially. But have gradually become more relaxed. He ate a leaf the other day #toorelaxed and I’m going on the “it’s good for immunity” train. When he started nursery he had conjunctivitis an ear infection and a cold all at once. That was fun. Little germ factories.

He’s due his 1 year vaccinations tomorrow. We’re takjn. Him anyway despite him being ill. Dr will check and will make the decision. Dh is taking him.

He (ds) has been asleep since 7. Over the last few nights he’s out up a fight to go to bed and has woken up crying every hour or so. So far so good. And today he’s only had one lot of ibruprofen. I haven’t thought he’s needed it really. So haven’t dosed him up. Dh has instructions though to do t of ds wakes up in the night. He’s also under strict instruction to leave me the fuck alone. I am exhausted. I am sleeping alone. I have ear plugs. And an eye mask. I have moisturised my face and feet and will shortly be slathering it on my hands and putting cotton gloves on. #sexy

I’ve maybe slept 18 hours in the last 4 days. I need to get a proper sleep.

Jam sorry about the chicken 🐓 I love chickens
Meadow congratulations on the piggy
Em glad ds is doing better sorry to hear you are not doing so well

Haven’t fully caught up. I’m definitely up for amaretto but neat, no coke thanks, and any gin whisky or rum that’s going

I’ve had a hell of a day finally managing to eat some very exciting toast having just finished working. Also have wine!

Cagliostro · 18/10/2018 21:40

At the library we used to disinfect all the baby toys (handbells maracas etc) after each rhyme time session even between the 10am and 11am on Fridays. Used to quite enjoy that job as it meant I could sit down 😳😂 but it was reassuring for parents too. I’m pretty relaxed especially with third baby, dirt is organic right? 😂 The only exception is vomiting type bugs, I am still quite paranoid about that although getting better.

Frugal win, lovely former colleague sent me some info about Japanese songs that the kids will be able to read and that I can play on the piano. So that’s a new avenue to our learning for no cost.

Really hope you get some sleep em 🤞

Yay for new piggie (why is there no guinea pig emoji) 😍

Argh we missed EWFL. But we watched new Big Bang theory so worth it. I feel I will be up all night (cagletini definitely getting worse now, keeps clawing at her mouth :() so going to stick it on iplayer in a mo.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 18/10/2018 21:40

Place marking

I'm tired with swollen glands so am heading straight to bed with hot water bottle

Wolfcub · 18/10/2018 21:48

Ooo ewfl will put that on in a minute to try and wind down before bed

Wolfcub · 18/10/2018 22:03

Why take the yolk out of the egg and stuff it with potato. Does not compute!

Cagliostro · 18/10/2018 22:17

Well I’m really intrigued about this episode now. I’ll put it on later (resigned to the fact I will be up much of the night - thankfully the blister doesn’t seem to affect feeding but it does mean it all falls to me, but DH is off tomorrow so I can sleep properly then)

Didn’t get a chance to put it on yet. DD came back down, clearly anxious due to baby sister being ill. But we did talk about the Japanese plans and I was explaining how digraphs work and she suddenly said, you’re such a cool mum, I wouldn’t be able to learn Japanese at school. I said she was a cool daughter as I get to learn fun stuff with her.

I should point out here that in the Cagliostro house, cool is synonymous with nerdy. 🤓😂

Hope the sleep and heat help mammy

QuiteFabULousDahling · 18/10/2018 22:20

Dont get me started Wolf
Batshit -but it was good for a laugh.
Omg those meat substitute things made me heave -would far rather have a veggie casserole .
Every show the DC get involved and love it .
We need Home Economics back on the curriculum .

QuiteFabULousDahling · 18/10/2018 22:21

Lonely
The RSPB have released a knitted birds calendar 😍

Wolfcub · 18/10/2018 22:23

Omg I need that calendar!

This woman is literally boring her family to death with shite food

Cagliostro · 18/10/2018 22:30

Love the sound of the calendar. My friend had knitted birds as part of the table favours at her wedding. Cue much hilarity at being able to take home a knitted tit.

AdoraBell · 18/10/2018 22:37

£2.50 Big Issue
£95 yesterday on grocery delivery.

ChristmasSeacow · 18/10/2018 23:23

I have some knitted bird pattern books. Note the plural there. DH is a birder, I’m a knitter... more than one person has had that gift idea Grin

In fact, the knitting talk has gone a bit quiet... what are you all up to, knitty friends? I am going to a fancy yarn shop on Saturday with my mum and sisters and then for posh afternoon tea in Lahndan Tahn. It’s not going to be frugal, I can feel it in my waters. Or dieticious.

My teen drink was vodka and orange - can’t even entertain the thought now. I also can’t drink sweet fruity cocktails as they always give me acute stomach ache. So I stick to gin, wine, beer, fizz, Madeira, port, occasional brandy /whisky/Baileys. Yum. Hic.

Hope the poorly babies are better soon. Sadly it’s the season for all the lovely new winter lurgies to do the rounds and the poor babies get everything.

I’ll watch EWFL tomorrow - rather looking forward to It after your collective reactions!

Tired. Lots of staring at a screen today and the thinking has worn me out!

Cagliostro · 18/10/2018 23:36

Does your DH have a recommendation for a really decent bird reference book please seacow? We had a small RSPB one but wore it out through overuse!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 19/10/2018 05:48

I'm not a knitter but dm is & she's going to knit this for me, must go pick out the wool tomo. She also treated me to a surprise lunch out yesterday Grin
In unfrugal news, the beef Curry I made using half can coconut milk & half can tomatoes frozen from last time, was ruined by being too long in sc yesterday & became dogfood last night instead of 3/4 meals Sad I had bought Mumbai meals in Iceland so we had 'takeaway' instead Grin

Anything that could go wrong did yesterday so hopefully today will be a better day Wink

Morning. 🌞🌞🌞 I actually slept for ages. Yay. And I think ds did too. At least I didn’t hear him (I took ear plugs out as they were annoying).

Payday today!! Wahooooo!!! I’ve saved myself quite a bit with ds not being well this week. No beauticians (moves to Monday) and no wine tasting and pizza event last night with work (is already paid £20 for it but the pre event drinks and pizza and probably post event drinks would have cost me). I emailed a colleague yesterday and suggested he bring his wife instead. He did. They had fun. He’s going to give me the £20 today. Yay.

I have to wait until Monday for my money to move to savings and joint ac as the 21 is usually payday but as it’s a Sunday they do the nearest Friday.

Quick check of bank accounts and ds has earned himself 57p interest this month. Way more than me! Haha.

You sound much chirpier em after a good nights sleep Smile

In past two weeks - washing machine has broken down, boiler had a fault, washing line broke as well as several clothes pegs broke, window handle came off in my hands - talk about an introduction to life on my own but I've managed with all of them. Au pair told h about washing machine so he rang repair guy after he did the exact same things to try fix it that I did, clean out filter, reset & restart twice Angry I would've managed getting repair guy too though. So glad it didn't need replacing. €50

Dc got glowing reports at school HaloHalo

H has decided to have dc sat night so hopefully I'm not too late to arrange dinner out with my friends, otherwise maybe I'll go to cinema alone Grin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/10/2018 07:37

Well done mammy I get that ugh feeling every time something breaks as hating sorting stuff/finding repair people! I still need to sort my heating as it's not working properly again 😣

The clothes I ordered from Shein arrived ystd, two of the dresses are really nice (for dd) one she has fallen in love with and will wear to my party so that's great. The coat was too small and the other two dresses were no good so they will all be going back.

Day off today as I'm wking the wend, might pop to town but no real plans....

QuiteFabULousDahling · 19/10/2018 07:38

The EWFL mum seemed to have hitched a ride on the carbs and dairy are baaaaaad train .
Alll the latest research is showing very strongly that restricting whole food groups (unless you have an allergy/coeliac)is strongly associated with early death as is high carb/sugar.
I cant get over the fact she was eating that food crap and thought it was healthy Confused
I like the dietician -she needs her own show Smile without Greg Grin
Aaaah knitting chat -thats lovely mammy
Oooh which Posh shop Sea ?
Loop? I trundle up on the train a couple of times a year and send DH away while I browse 😉
Glad you had a good nights sleep em
Yay Friday !

LonelyOversharer · 19/10/2018 07:39

Did my asda order at midnight, after waking up and realising I had forgotten to check out! £102. But thats all dry goods to keep us going for hopefully 3 or so weeks.

Last day of work before a week off. First time off since I started in June. I got some bonding plaster onto the girls wall last night. The bare brick is covered (there was only a bit left for 8 months ), will do more tonight. Hope to skim on sunday.

thistimenextsummer · 19/10/2018 07:41

Knitting News: I've started (yet another) scarf 🧣😂! I'm changing colour every few inches (a new skill for me!) and each time I change colour I'm testing out a new stitch. My aim is to practice new skills as I go. Building up the courage to try some increasing and decreasing - think this will give me a holey pattern?

Spent about £50 on Xmas presents and far too much on dinner out Blush. I'm feeling really organised now. I even got the card box out last night. My list is going to have a cull this year. By Dec 1st I want to just put my feet up and enjoy mince pies. I aim to do this every year but the last two have been manic (newborn one year, building work last year). I'm feeling this could be the one!

QuiteFabULousDahling · 19/10/2018 07:50

this you should be able to find a stitch dictionary online with some simple lacey patterns .
I love challenging myself and learning a new pattern.

ChristmasSeacow · 19/10/2018 08:21

I’m sure he does Cag, I’ll check which one he’s got.

Yes Quite, Loop! I’ve only been once before and my DM and one DSis haven’t ever been. It might be ££££. And with the vair posh afternoon tea afterwards I might not be able to show my face here on Sunday Grin. I’m not buying random yarn but there’s two scarf /shawl things I’m keen to make so if when I see something suitable I’ll go for it

DS is off school today but poor wee DD is in nursery. I’m going to take him to our local Belgian cafe for a treat today - waffles or something. While I just drink tea (diet! Confused) . I might manage a couple of hours of work too, otherwise I’ll have to make up some time on Sunday because half term is cutting into my work time next week and my deadline is the week after. Stress!

QuiteFabULousDahling · 19/10/2018 08:27

Sea make sure you get a loyalty card if it gets spendy Wink they stamp it for you.
The thing is not wasting money on over paying utilities or chucking food away means you can spend it on really meaningful things instead Smile
Have a lovely day !
And report back with your purchases 😎
